Who the heck is Senpai?

Also, wouldn't being an intimidating delinquent affect befriending with other rivals? Besides the delinquent rival I don't see any of the rivals getting along with a delinquent since most of them are essentially gentle/coward or arrogant/snobbish. Plus, the teacher and the nurse rivals are school staff so they could easily report you.
(I don't bother recalling their names because I bet even Alex doesn't)

The poor schmuck that the titular yandere is... Well, yandere for.

Huh, if he wouldn't brake up with tinybuild, he would have normal code by this moment. And much bigger support in terms of marketing and kickstarter campaign.
Oh, wait, his main reason to partner up with TB was twitch ban

UwU i make serious business decisions just to prove people on internet that i'm successful!
Of course TB are guilty that you are still "harassed".

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

that is fucking hilarious. I thought Alex would give an excuse of "tinybuild didn't improve the game because I'm a caveman and rejected their coder's help because properly written code is like trying to read Ancient Alien Scriptures for me", not "they couldn't protect me from da Gremlins"

Seriously, you actually fucking hired tinyBuild to be your PR instead of fixing your shitty ass game and code? What a fucking spastic you are Alex. Always needing to stroke your ego.

That's just the excuse he's making because he's a sheltered loser trying to lie to his child audience about why he was too arrogant and too much of a prima donna to just let TB build the product for him due to actually having competent coders.

Well that and he probably chimped when he was told to lock his game ideas now; since feature creep like that is the sign of a dipshit who isn't aware of what they want to do.

Really? Alex wouldn't admit his fault even in court, after being caught red handed. (Sorry, if it was a sarcasm, it's hard to tell these days)
You know what though? I would put part of the blame on Tiny Build itself. I mean, it wasn't 2014, Alex and his game already had some infamy, especially his work ethics and programming skills. Instead they wasted their time and money on this amateur. They could at least google his name. Maybe they even did so, but decided to proceed anyway. It's like with Postal 3 - the game was trash because of shitty developers, but Running with scissors could at least do some background check for Akella. In Russia they were almost universally hated.

Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster.

I first discovered YanSim back in December 2017 (by accident, funnily enough. I was scrolling through YouTube and stumbled upon a random recommendation, which turned out to be one of Jay's "Yandere Simulator Myth" videos). Back then, my appalling lack of gaming knowledge (or gaming in general) meant that I became intrigued by the old delinquent NPCs, and how they would yell and push you away if you got too close. Believing this game to be "totaly cool and advansed!!!" and "omg anime desu!!! <3333333", I quickly became invested, to the point where I would check Eva's WordPress everyday and immediately download the new build whenever it came out.

Skip forward to just over a year later. I was still actively following the game's development, but my excitement and interest had dwindled, and I was starting to read more into YanDev's seedy past. Then, a few months later, I discovered this thread, read through the entire thing over the course of several more months and...well, here I am today.

So, yeah. Now, I figure I might as well sit down, grab some popcorn, and watch as the madness continues to play out.

Oh, and also...

That artwork is so abysmal I had to try editing it, although salvaging this monstrosity is near impossible.

To be fair though it was still really early in all that stuff. The Tiny Build stuff was back when I was a fan and nothing had really popped up negatively other than people talking about how slow he was going. I mean I'm sure some stuff had started pooping up, but not many people had heard it. I mean he claimed the CEOs wife was a fan of the game even. So... 🤷

It's still a lot better than the first. It's a lot better to look at. Only complaint I'd have is she should be muscular but at least she doesn't look fat with stick arms and the rest of her body makes sense now.

Off topic from what you guys are saying, and maybe I'm late, but does Alex understand what difficulty is? Or a joke? Raibaru was "indestructible" because she was a placeholder, and then it became a joke, but now it has an actual fucking purpose.

Raibaru is still at peak physical condition, and is more than capable of breaking bones in order to protect herself or her friends. This means that the safest place in school is at Raibaru's side.

Osana is now best friends with Raibaru. So he's trying to make her harder, despite being the first rival. How about you do something that not only makes killing Osana difficult, but also every other fucking rival? Not something exclusive to one rival that you have to go out of your way to kill in some weird, convoluted method of murder that doesn't make the game difficult or fun in the difficult way; it isn't interesting. It's annoying.

To be fair, TB often takes games with bad managment and in development hell, and do their best to fix team's work and finish the game. And Tinybuild are pretty good at it. Sourse: multiple friends who worked on games, published by TB.
Edit: it doesn't mean that TB are great and the best publishers in the world, but they have experience with troubled projects, which could be helpful for YanSim.

Wait wait wait wait wait...that's kjechs?! That looks more like a first draft that they would then go over to fix porpotions! What happened?!
I mean to be fair, kjechs official YS work has a history of being worse than their other stuff. Even the original YS concept sketches they did are, for the most part, better than what actually ended up being used. They could've changed their style but it could also just be Alex making specific requests again

If Osana is going to be this tedious and difficult to defeat, I can't imagine what players will have to go through to eliminate Megami.
If she ever gets finished, that is. :)

I honestly don't think making Osana so tedious is a good way to introduce this game. I get he wants to make her easier in the final game....but the extent he's going is really overkill.

Implying that he's worked on anything outside of the first week.

Oh he has worked on something outside of the first week. Or have you forgotten how much he likes to talk about Megami the final rival and her family and how they have an impact on the school and how much everything revolves around her and her family instead of letting the players learn that on their own?

Projects are like a gaseous substance, if nothing stops them they will expand in all directions infinitely. A lot of people hate "The suits" for stomping on the genius of the "man with an idea" but these guys understand when a game will go over budget, when an idea is fucking useless and that gimmicks don't make a game.

Occasionally, a man of great genius and vision will choose to let the project become itself without any restrictions. Usually these projects are despised by "critics" in their time who consume the same mindless garbage that the proles do. Only decades, sometimes centuries later does everyone admit that the man who created it was a true visionary and it's universally accepted as a masterpiece that has held the test of time.

Yandere simulator is the opposite of that. That shit should have been out 3 or 4 years ago when the Yandere meme was still in the popular consciousness from shit like Mirai Nikki and other animes experimenting with the archetype. The guy had a good idea for a franchise and decided to act like a complete autist and include a million unique story elements to the first game when all his audience wanted was Hitman meets Yuno Gasai meets School Days.

I would have bought the game but now I couldn't care less because it just seems like a mess. I just want to push a bitch off the top of the building for trying to steal senpai from me while I'm busy earning confidence points.

And it will be unclear for people, who are new to the game and don't know about delinquent rival
This persona mechanic looks wanky, i dunno.

Ah, still can't make normal mirror, i see.

I didn't realize that the girls in the game are all unity store assets.

I mean to not take the time out and model your main character is kinda bad. It also doesn't take long to learn.

Makes me wonder if I should post some of my stuff here, since I do know how to properly sculpt 2d characters in 3d spaces.

You could probably still kill them with a bug, and find out that there is no 5th rival.

Last I checked there were like 6 girls with different hair colours that all liked senpei, then there was one major rival, now there is like 4?

How come Senpai is this absolute Chad that all the girls in the class wants to hook up with?

Isn't the genre really supposed to focus around the romantic narrative that the Yandere chick has built around an unsuspecting but normal guy and her perception of a even another girl talking to him being she's trying to steal him from the Yandere? The interesting part is supposed to be the total psychotic break from reality the Yandere has and the effect it has on the environment. Even the "Good ending" should involve her tying up Senpai to a chair in a dungeon where he can never leave her ever.

Alex is turning Yandere simulator into a Harem anime it seems, where the Yandere is merely the character you play as. He is way too married to his characters to even understand what's going on anymore. This is turning into Alex's Super High School Love Adventure where he is the Senpai and you get to play as one of the girls that vie for his affections (albeit his favourite).

Good morning, fam, Eva wants TEN rivals in game. And 2 of them are adult women.
Plus additional rivals in DLC :')
