He's definitely taken some missteps in the game's development, though. Particularly time management. I think that's due to lack of experience. Alex has already pocketed tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars for development on Patreon and squandered a legitimate business opportunity with tinyBuild for his supposed mangum opus, and what we're received over the course of over 6 years is a broken mass that by definition can't even be called a demo because there is still outright unfinished content. What makes you think that crowdfunding would help him finish the game at all?

It took him six years to reach this point. Even if we're extremely generous and say that he only needs three years per remaining rival, that's sill 27 years out. So you won't be seeing Megami until 2047 at the very earliest.

Of course he has a lack of experience and things are mismanaged: he refuses to actually learn, accept criticism, or take initiative. It's been 6 years, keep this in mind, and he finally finished a demo. Not the game, just a demo.
Now, swing your mind to the idea of game jams, where fully fledged games are made in under 48 hours. That's done without monetary benefit of doing so, at least upfront. Hell, some of the most popular games of the past few years were made for game jams, like Baba is You.

I want you to take a good hard look at the way Alex has coded all of the student's routines, and then tell me what groundwork he's laid to make his life easier. I'll wait.

I doubt he's living with them for free. I'd assume his parents are charging him rent, or they're missing a serious money-making opportunity.
