You do NOT mess around or play loose on an issue like copyright, especially if you hope to make a profit off something. Even if it's a public domain, no rights required resource, you should make damned sure you mention that somewhere so people know you didn't steal it if there is ever a question later where you got a resource. One, it's just insurance in case someone fires a legal challenge over a resource at you, and two, it's just common sense to be able to say your conscience is clear on something you intend to make money off of.

Here is my prediction.

He will replace the models, but he'll replace them with even shittier models or something. Think even lower quality and people will complain of course but he'll just try and claim the new models are now "iconic" or something as an excuse for his poor model choices/skills.

Also a really shitty, cringy forced Yandere Simulator easter egg will be shoehorned into Hello Neighbor, or vice versa. Maybe even both! Mark my words.

Wow, there's so much retardation and e-penis sucking in these posts it isn't funny.

First off, whether or not the original makers of the models he's using put out a copyright for them. The heart of the matter is that he's not giving them (neither his volunteers, or the guys who made the base models the characters are from) proper credit. If he did even that, none of us would be harping on him about that as much as we are. But he's too lazy to even do that much.

Secondly, age of consent doesn't excuse the fact that this is clearly a game based around Eva's wet dreams and fetishes. Even if the girls here were rewritten as adults, he'd still find ways to insert them in panty-revealing outfits (And I'm surprised he doesn't put the teachers in miniskirts). But they're not, they're "high schoolers" (which is already suspicious), and one of the main gameplay mechanics is literally taking photographs of panties.

It's amazing how blinded this person is. I'm almost tempted to say it's a sock Eva made. But knowing some of the more rabid defenders of the fandom, I'm not entirely sure.

i know this is pretty obvious but just because MMD is free does not fucking mean you can take assets from people who put hard work into them, in their free time, for the community, and fucking sell them
MANY MMD artists (at least from what I remember, haven't done anything with MMD for years) put disclaimers that you can only use their shit for non-profit reasons or must EXPLICITLY ask them if you can use their thing in your thing/if you can buy the asset off of them
which is fucked in and of itself because they shouldn't have to put disclaimers so people won't use their assets in a shitty fetish simulator but whatever

Then again, they look like something animated in MMD, so I wouldn't be surprised if he started them in MMD, then tried to move them over to Maya when they were "good enough" and tried to fine tune them.

Blender is completely free, unlike Maya which requires a subscription if you're not doing it for purely educational purposes and only for a limited time (though self-teaching is considered educational, and the period is three years).
