So, he finally posted the contest results a week after the deadline, and he wants other people to choose the winner for him. There's also a sharing second place without a prize of any sort.
Since the contest is over, I'm gonna say that's got to be one of the least organized contests I've participated in.

Adding to the schedule topic -- He sent this at 3:30am in his time zone, and there's a high chance my picture wasn't the last one he slurped to.

Also, if you check out the winners, search for Kikwangi, that's mine. I left him a message using korean alphabet. Didn't really expect it to actually make it to the blog.
Archived just in case: http://archive.is/4VnaC

Also, how long did it take him to widdle down all of the entries for his council contest thing?

The contest began on December 19th and ended on January 1st, initially, then he moved the deadline to the 2nd. So, around 22 or 23 days since the contest began, and 10 days after the initial deadline.
Jfc, he has all the freetime he wants and instead of just spending a few extra days on picking an entry winner, he chalks it up to his fans to choose and in the meantime, sits on his ass to stream games at whatever time he pleases. i.e. practically all the time.

@MaddieNolan I'm assuming that tinyBuild didn't respond, that confirms that tinyBuild isn't in a partnership with Yandere Simulator otherwise they would of reassured your concerns.

Very likely, especially since "bootleg" YanSim has been on Steam for a week and TinyBuild has done nothing about it (unless they don't know about the game yet).

What could they do about it? Yandev doesn't have a patent on yanderes.

I meant that TB's a trusted publisher of Steam. So if one of their games were being copied on there, Steam might act on getting the game removed if TB asked them to (even if TB or Alex didn't own a patent).

emphasis on might. Steam does have a history of not doing anything unless a story gets big media coverage (and even then, the problem doesn't get fixed).

I'm also surprised that Alex himself hasn't said anything yet and have his fans mass report it.

There isn't such thing as a patent on yandere. You can't patent a character archetype. Steam doesn't give a fuck about clones.
I mean, they even sell this, even though it might be a trademark violation: http://store.steampowered.com/app/369580/NotGTAV/

TinyBuild won't touch it, and if Alex does, we might see a sob story "a rich white male pervert bullies a small independent game company over a free game".
But he won't either.

Is Yandere Simulator even copyrighted?

A "rip off" is ending up more competently coded than Alex's game.

I mean safe for the string comparisons and such.
Maybe there's something of the other end that can only produce strings?
Is Yandere Simulator even copyrighted?
According to the Berne Convention, yes, automatically.
Just like this comment. Do not steal.
