You are not the only one who knows Draw.io
Look, you suck at programming, you just do. Let me show you how a real professional does it.

Alex seems to only respond to criticism when it's easy to fix. Weapons are unbalanced? Sure, he'll at least attempt to fix that. Inconsistent artystyle with models? Fine, he'll change it in the final game.

And then there's this absolute bullshit going on with his bodyguard Mary Sue. It's so blatantly obvious how much she destroys the design of the game, even when she hasn't even been released yet.

First of all, she can only be eliminated through scripted events. Remember how he said that defeating rivals should feel organic? Well, all of that goes out the window, since you basically have to do fucking chores just to make Osana vulnerable.

Furthermore, she is going to be a nightmare for new players to deal with. Why can't you speak to her? Why doesn't she respond to distractions? Why isn't she vulnerable to bucket traps? Alex created dozens of game mechanics for the player to use, and then subsequently trivialized those mechanics by making his characters artificially immune to them.

Finally, her presence is basically an excuse for Alex to spend less time on actually designing his game. Instead of carefully designing each student's routine so that Osana is always being watched, he can just have Raibaru follow Osana the entire time. Osana's routine has already been leaked, and it is not well designed at all. She is RARELY ever around other students.

Now, trying to fix this mess is probably going to take a rather long time for him. He has to redesign a few student routines so that Osana is constantly being watched. He can make it actually possible to manipulate Raibaru with the game's mechanics, so that players can actually take advantage of the features he spent way too much time adding. There's no way he's going to bother putting in the effort to do all this, especially if it means admitting that he was wrong.

Just to add onto what you are saying, Raibaru being in the game means that right off the bat, Osana fails as a tutorial. When somebody decides to pick up the game for the first time, they are going to be on Osana's week, trying to learn the mechanics of the game. Obviously it goes without saying that having a character immune to most of the mechanics in the game wlll make it harder for said player to learn about said mechanics. How am I supposed to learn that I can set people on fire if I can't set people on fire? Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure that Alex made Osana immune to electrocution at the same time he made Raibaru able to smell Gasoline. Razzboswki also electrocuted Osana to bypass Raibaru in the same video that caused Alex to make Raibaru smell Gasoline, and now for some reason Osana doesn't accept chips.

Also this is just as an aside, but one of the ways of eliminating Raibaru (Ganging up on her with a Mind Slave) is literally impossible to do without cheating at the moment, as both methods of creating one run into critical problems.
- Manipulating Horadu: First of all, Horadu is currently glitched. She will always ignore any notes about bullying that are put in her locker, regardless of whether or not she is being bullied. However even if she was working as intended, this method still wouldn't work because you can't show her a picture of Raibaru talking with a bully if you can't anybody to distract her (Raibaru never talks to a bully naturally, so that also doesn't work).
- Kidnapping: At the moment, the earliest you can kidnap somebody without cheating is Tuesday. Meanwhile, if you want to be able to send a mind slave to school, you have to kidnap them on Monday and torture them for 3 days straight (Twice for 18 hours, and once for 4 hours). There just isn't enough time in the week to be able to kidnap somebody and turn them into a mind slave by the end of the week.

We're talking about a guy who can't do his own animations despite having an animation degree. He clearly half-assed college and I wouldn't be surprised if there was bribery going on as well.
If he had an actually decent degree that you have to seriously work for I'd agree with the bribery comment, but not all degrees are equal. Associates degrees are piss easy to get in America as long as you have time and money, they're an alternative to a bachelor's for people who struggle with one or both, or for people who got denied going straight to a Bachelors by universities. Alex going for something that's meme level easy like an animation Associates instead of a more practical comp sci or informatics Bachelors says so much about his general ambition and work ethic alone. I could easily imagine Alex being disciplined enough back in his school days to get it legit, only to let all of that knowledge and experience go once he became his own boss and there was no longer anyone above him telling him to actually give a shit about what he's doing.

Exactly, also don't forget he got that AA from a shitty Community College too. Community Colleges in the US accept ALL applicants.

Osana should be pretty easy to kill being the first rival, but covering up the crime is supposed to be the hardest part. If someone cares about the lore and wants to see all of Osana's scens they can decide to put off her death/disappearance, but not everyone is gonna give a shit. Just make it harder to deal with witnesses and harder to hide evidence.

But of course being a control freak Alex has to put an unkillable mary sue in to thwart the player from actually playing the game.

That's a problem many young game developers face when creating plot/story heavy video games. They try too fucking hard to recreate the experience of a movie or an anime.

The whole appeal of a video game over a movie is that in the video game YOU are the protagonist. You have control and should feel like you influence the virtual world you're in somehow. This is exactly why so many video game based movies fail. Movies cannot recreate the experience of a video game, just like how a video game can't recreate the experience of a movie.

Alex makes this exact fucking mistake. He's so autistically obsessed about the plot that when a gamer actually tries to be creative (you know, the whole point of a video game that he kept emphasizing at first about how killing rivals should feel organic) he fucking flips out and has to micromanage it so the gameplay experience is what HE wants instead of letting gamers choose the gameplay experience they want. Guess what, now playing the game is as fun as looking through a fucking slideshow of "How to murder Osana."

What always confused me about Alex's code is that he doesn't seem to understand the SOLID principles of object-oriented programming, especially the single-responsibility principle.
That gigantic update function can be trimmed down quite a bit (in terms of line count) by defining the statements that should be executed for each circumstance as their own function and then just calling it where it "used to be" in the actual update function. Right now the update function holds all the information necessary to make the students act the way he wants them to, but he really should be breaking it down into separate functions that each have one sole purpose. It would make it a lot easier for him to debug his code. They teach this shit in introduction to programming classes in college, so why does he not know this?
It's textbook "I learned to program from Google and Stack Overflow". He recites the keywords and syntax from rote memorization, at best, but since his tools of choice are so forgiving he doesn't see any need to improve. If he can jam just one more branch onto that if-ladder, it will do, whatever file it lands in be damned. Loose coupling? Absolutely plebian. :smug:

Alex strawmanning criticism of any kind, yet again. He posted this today in his Discord.

Full res of the flowchart itself
View attachment 1423066

I'd wager this is the kind of thing we can expect in Hate and Shame 2.
Imagine making a flowchart to demonstrate your inability to take criticism of any kind while pretending it's the other person's fault, or taking the time out of your day (time better spent making progress on the game) to make the flowchart to (poorly) respond to criticism. Not that this is anything new, if it was then we wouldn't be here now in a nearly 1,900 page thread discussing him and his bullshit.
This is the single most autistic thing I've seen all day. I mean literally. He's boiling down a future human interaction into a flowchart for an own.

you know, beside the other guy who did exactly that. nobody!

What's crazy is that Alex hasn't really achieved much of anything with these things.
  • Social - You can do randomly generated tasks for people and get 'reputation' as well as 'friend' status, which allows you to get them to follow you, or kill them if they're a rival. You can spread rumours and get someone bullied, but this is just dialogue tree stuff.
  • Stealth - There are literally no stealth mechanics in Yandere Simulator. The closest you have is 'visibly armed/bloody/insane'. In Hitman you can actively sneak around, wear disguises, destroy footage of you performing some action, etc.
  • School simulation - Bravo, you wrote some time-based routines to pre-specified locations and have a few special roles.
  • Sandbox - A sandbox is only as fun as the tools in it. Yandere Simulator has a few weapons which barely do anything differently besides leaving blood around.
You wouldn't play in a sandbox if you didn't have a spade. You especially wouldn't play in the sandbox if there was broken glass in it and you cut yourself every five minutes.

It wouldn't even be that bad if it hadn't been SIX YEARS.

Alex's reddit account got hacked and posted this on r/yandere_simulator.

I wonder who did this because I'm dying. They also changed the subreddit logo into Null's avatar.

Holy shit based, I love that reference to Leopirate's hot take on Gamergate. This shitpost is perfect, don't fuck with it.
Who is responsible for this work of art?
The hacker known as Kiwifarms.
Obviously, duh.
What should I post to the subreddit while I still can lol

Edit: Prood of "hack" is on his account
Some more cum chalice memes are always welcomed.
