TRO apparently helped out with this video, so that's interesting. Cameron looks 15 years old or something.
Also the fucking volume hikes up by 6 billion on my speakers between the transition slides and his speaking parts. Fuck me.
If I miss anything then I'll probably edit this accordingly. Probably. The video was admittedly boring as fuck.
Chapter 1: The Code - He basically says that the code isn't good, but not bad either. He cites dyc3 who ran 10 million(?) iterations on else-if versus switch statement simulations.
Chapter 2: The Assets - K gon's 'Everything in YandereSim is Stolen' video is cited here. Not really much to say here--he just says 'as far as I know, the stolen assets are either replaced or don't exist'.
Chapter 3: Taking Criticism/The Public's Image - A guest feature of GhostofGriever, who's a teacher? They go on about how YandereDev appears to be a control freak when it comes to PR, and that he should 'show, don't tell', letting his positive interactions with volunteers/fans show who he is instead of screaming. They also go into how home schooling does indeed impact the development of social skills, and that they'd want YanDev to do a verbal interview to show his genuine-ness.
Chapter 4: sisefs/Joel_Creeper - In Sisef's case, he says that 'there are holes in the story that no one else seems to see'. He says that her editing her Tumblr post about watching Alex's vidya streams is sus, and he doesn't think that she had a relationship with Alex (I wonder if he's seen the pictures of them with their names written on each other's skin), and that searching for her on Skype yields no results, which is ??? He also claims that people from the vidya streams at the time don't remember her.
He denounces Joel's actions, of course, but says that 'a predator protecting another predator wouldn't make sense'.
Chapter 5:
Chapter 6: Volunteer Treatment - Bunch of screenshots of volunteers telling their experiences. For the most part, the consensus is: 'it's a case-by-case basis, but in general every interaction has been good/courteous'.
Chapter 7: Watashi no Mono - EpicMealDev telling the reasons why he quit the project, and how he holds no ill will towards YandereDev. He says that even though Alex accused EpicMeal of making a 'fake game', he's 'fine with it as long as original assets are used'. I guess Cameron's never seen the Discord screenshots expressing visible scorn towards mention of fan games.
Chapter 8 - The Interview: Mostly the same shit he's always said. I'm getting tired at this point and it's long as hell, but here's my notes anyway:
▪︎ Cameron says some absolute bullshit about how YandereSim isn't a commercial product, and he isn't making money off it.
▪︎ He cites examples of his taking criticism well in cases where he was told that an update/asset in the game was ugly/a bad idea, and says that the only reason examples exist of his taking it badly is because a person rubbed him the wrong way, was abrasive, or caught him in a bad mood.
▪︎ He makes the alcohol example we saw him searching for artists for on Discord. 'If you saw one picture of me drinking alcohol, you can't assume that I'm an alcoholic--you only caught me drinking once.' Or something.
▪︎ He actually acknowledges that he's put some shit out just to see people's reactions, and that he's made the scope too big.
▪︎ The Joel situation is brought up. He denounces his actions, and goes into how he was initially told that Joel didn't know his victims were under-age, before it came to light that he did all along.
▪︎ The situation with the DID thing is brought up. Apparently the victim is back on the moderation team?
▪︎ Sisefs is brought up. He says that they initially acted like 'teehee hai boys'/overly flirtatious, before hiking it up to sending every guy on Alex's vidya stream nudes and disappearing. Then, at some point someone asks where they went, and someone thought that they may have been underaged and that their computer was taken away, causing everyone to freak out.
He debunks a screenshot Sisef's provided of Alex's stream, which shows him allegedly playing a French version of Link's Awakening--for some reason. But they don't touch any of the other screenshots on Sisefs' Tumblr.
▪︎ He says that he's never actually been SWAT'd, but that there was an attempt and he warned his county's police department in advance. He didn't get a response from them.
▪︎ Part of the interview is omitted, but Cameron says that it basically boils down to someone actually attempting to send the cops to his house.
▪︎ Watashi no Mono is brought up; he admits that he basically believed EpicMeal was making a fake game purely because of word of mouth from former WnM volunteers, and someone saying they didn't have faith he knew what he was doing.
▪︎ The speedrunning is brought up, and how YanDev thinks that it's not a case of the Streisand Effect, but a reverse-Streisand Effect. He says that the situation was a three-way trap--he claims that embracing the chalice meme is unacceptable and not who he was, not banning people would have turned the Discord into a cesspool, and banning people would perpetuate the streisand effect. 'Spam is spam', which tbh I'm inclined to agree with, somewhat.
▪︎ 'I don't believe I'm a public figure'; 'one programmer in the credits of a game is not a public figure'. 'I don't have influence over people, in the sense that I don't attempt to broadcast sponsors, or encourage opinions'.
▪︎ He claims he tells some jokes for shock value, and that he has less of a filter on stream. They don't acknowledge Alex telling someone to shove a cactus up their ass or kill themselves.
