Some bros insist we should all go on one, meet some chicks, see places, do stuff, but then I watch videos and its mostly old farts, little kids and rowdy rowdy niggersTM and being stuck in a tin can in the middle of some fucking ocean with them does not strike me as a fun vacay

BUT jewtube is mostly fake and gay ragebait for the views these days so maybe it is good, any kiwis been to a cruise? how did it go? is it really a better deal vs a regular trip and hotel?

My parents took me on a Baltic cruise when I was in my twenties.

I can see the appeal:
  • I had my own butler and could specify what beers I wanted in my mini fridge.
  • Everything was all you can drink.
  • The food was extremely good and the wine was extremely good.
  • Every single day or so, the boat would roll up to a new country, and you could go on tours and do whatever you wanted.
  • You didn't constantly have to switch hotel rooms or drive places - all your shit was on the boat. If you didn't want to deal with going to a country (like Estonia, that place sounded like it sucked) you could just stay on the boat and drink.
  • There was a pool, a casino, internet, an ice cream machine, an expresso machine, and multiple restaurants, and all sorts of shows etc - I was never bored.
  • For the rest of my life, I can just be like "yeah I've been to Sweden/Germany/Norway/Denmark/Poland/Russia" and pretend to be cultured.
Downsides:
  • There was a dress code.
  • The boat was filled with old people.
  • I want to say it cost like $15,000 to bring me along?
I have learned that I am not the tourism/sightseer type of person - I prefer hanging out in Cancun and getting incredibly wasted at a poolside bar/all inclusive resort, and that's generally what I would do with my money given my own devices. But a cruise ship beats the pants off of a nursing home or an assisted living facility and I would happily spend my last decade on a high end cruise ship if given the opportunity.

Did cruises in the Caribbean twice. Both times it was absolute dogshit. Terrible food, terrible service, terrible tours, terrible crew. The only good part was to see the legendary pier runners in action. The second time it happened the captain went on the loudspeakers and roasted the morons. It was the only fun part of the trip.

i keep looking at 70000 tons and i'm really tempted to get a ticket for january but idk how much they would continue to nickel and dime me after that, plus out of all the bands i only know about three of them. looks like it'd be cool though.

Only go if you REALLY like the destination. I've been to places like St. Petersburg which I'd never have a chance to go as an independent tourist.

The worst part of a cruise are your fellow guests. I can't imagine going on a cruise to "meet some chicks", you'd have to really like cougars (international) or sheboons (domestic). You're not going to have enough time in the ports to meet any locals.

Was it $15k per ticket? All expenses paid? If so I might consider doing it as like a honeymoon thing. If not and they keep trying to nickel and dime you afterwards fuck it.

I saw the poop cruise video once and I will always fear getting into one of those situations if I ever set foot on a boat.

15k a head (was a 2 week cruise). It'd be like 30k all-inclusive as a honeymoon thing. I did not see honeymooners on the ship though, I saw old people.

It was one of those luxury brands like regent? thats a lot of money for 14 days, and dress code you mean shirt and pants or a suit with a tie?

Thing is vacationing here is expensive as fuck, its literally cheaper for me to fly 10k km to miami and take a vacay there than to fucking drive to mar del plata which is like the jersey shore but full of seawolves that are fat fuckers that growl at you

Going to cancun is even cheaper but theres been narcos cutting heads there so no thanks
The food was extremely good and the wine was extremely good.
Good like good food or good as in nordic food good? 'cause no offend but nordic and east euro cuisine is hell on earth, and I'm not a mexichango eating taquitos either

What company? I heard carnival is the worse, thats the one from the poop cruise too

Late thirties early forties cougars? cuz after that they are no cougars, they are mummies

As for the sheboons are they at least hot or la luz extinguida?

I see the appeal for old people, it moves slow, everything is on an itinerary, you know when and what's being served for the meals, and you have a set of specific sites to see. For me personally I've only vacationed to other countries to see old architecture, I only talk with locals that live in villages/small towns and avoid big cities like the plague. When I visited France, I visited places like Montbard and Beaune, not smelly Paris. I intentionally make zero effort to learn the languages of countries I visit, although I do try to be respectful. If locals want to talk to me you gotta speak English or I just have nothing to say to you. This also facilitates my goals of travelling as cheaply as possible because international flights are stupidly expensive, and in the three non-American countries I've visited this plan has never failed me and I've always had a pleasant experience.

It was Carnival! The food was buffet style re-heated crap that probably had been in storage for years. Most of the crew seemed to be temp workers that had no idea what to do half the time and i suspect were high on something the other half. The guided tours were rushed and boring. But hey, maybe it was just a bad experience because it was our first time cruisin'? Right?

Well no, the second trip was more of the same. By the time it was over a crew member had been arrested ashore and left behind at Nassau for god knows what, a bunch of passengers were sick with food poisoning, including one of my daughters and we arrived back at Miami with less passengers than departed. To be fair, the ship waited for them almost an hour after departure time to see if they would show up and left their passports with a representative at the pier in Bahamas, so that was on them.

Anyway, never again.

I've had many prophetic dreams implying drowning in open water would be my fate if I disrespect it, and openly getting drunk on a floating house boat with a bunch of moon crickets seems like the exact thing that would classify as disrespect.

I've been of a ferry and that was enough for me. The ocean is nice to look at. I don't need to be on it.

Pretty much entirely opinion based, but Carnival and Princess are some of the worst that I can think of now. Princess cruises attract an older crowd. Google will say 50-60, but expect more like 70-90, they cater events to old people basically. You know all that shit old people do in retirement homes like bingo? Mainly activities like that, but instead of being in a retirement home you're on a cruise ship you paid 900 dollars for. They know their audience isn't 20-30 year olds so they don't host 'fast paced' events. If you're looking for a tamer cruise where the people are guaranteed to be in their cabins by 9 pm despite the few old bastards that don't sleep yet that might be the one for you.

A week long one on a small ship in Croatia, where one rides a bike every day on a different island. Of course apart from the guide it was all old farts, but at least they weren't ahead of me and I did not die from overheat. I went in place of someone else who fell ill, I wouldn't go otherwise. But I liked the landscape and the coast.
As for organized travel in general, unless it's a school trip, via ferrata tour or a mountain expedition where one carries everything for 2 weeks in a 25kg backpack, it's always seems to be old farts and/or drunks.

It is the cheapest cruise brand isnt it? all videos of niggers doing shit on cruises are from carnival ships

I will get one of those when I'm one of those old bastards, assuming globohomo dont wipe us all out first

In the meantime I prefer a cruise where I might find someone who didnt hit menopause before I was even born

I watch a lot of cruise reviews on YouTube for whatever reason. It seems like it would be fun, especially an Alaska trip, but there's a couple dozen things I'd rather spend the money on.

I was dragged along on a cheap cruise by my dad when I was 12. Felt like a really boring, never ending ferry ride. Dodgy old people everywhere. Nothing to do. The upside was, once we landed in Belgium, I could stuff my face with really good chocolate.

Who voted for gay cruise?

You remember which company it was?

I actually just went on my first cruise and had a lot of fun. It’s more about just kicking back with a book in a lounge chair and seeing the ports though. Very easy vacation with little to no planning, stress, etc. I enjoyed the novelty of it all. Avoid the cheapest lines like Carnival unless you want to be surrounded by children and hoodrats.

It’s not really the place to hookup with anyone unless your tastes run towards the retirement home, though.
