Ever hate something as a kid, but then like it as an adult?

A lot of foods. Spinach in particular. Still not a big fan of it cooked but I fucking love raw spinach.

Perfume. Turns out my mom only use perfumes that smell like a chemical mess, which I hate to this very day.

Fish. It was boiled, not fried or oven baked. Of course I thought it was gross, And I love everything seafood. Boiling ruins most foods.

Krysten ritter. I used to come home from school and put the TV on to have some background noise while I did all my hoemwork and then exercised and remember quite vividly how I'd see her sometimes on veronica mars and think she was such an ugly little wet rat of a thing.

Fast forward 8 or 9 years to the Breaking Bad/Jessica Jones era and I absolutely would smash. sort of a guilty pleasure celeb crush because tbh the woman does still look kinda weird.

Vegetables. I've always hated them when I was a kid because one of my relatives would force me to eat them or else I get the spank and I'd just throw them up in the bathroom, but after a few years, I decided to eat them by my own accord and they taste good. Granted, I still hate some vegetables, but some of them aren't that bad. I also learnt to taste and smell before making my own judgement on a particular food, unless it looks utterly shit.

Men in Black: The Series. Didn't like this show as a kid for some reason, got into it as an adult a few years ago and now it's a personal favorite. Holds up very well for a Saturday morning cartoon based on a movie (the early seasons, anyway).

History. Hated having to sit through history class growing up, now I enjoy and actively seek out history documentaries.

Plenty of foods I didn't like as a kid that I love now. Some are:

Oyster stew. Didn't care for it as a kid, now it's my favorite dish and I fix a pot any chance I can get.

Steak. Never cared for it much when I was little, until I got older and learned how to cook it myself, and now I love it. Probably helps that when I cook it it's either rare or medium, and growing up I was only given well done steaks (can't stand well done, makes the meat too tough).

Spicy foods. Hated the burning sensation of spicy foods when I was young, now I love it (my preference being hot wings, in particular honey-Sriracha wings).

Stayin in on a weekend (Dont get me wrong Ill go to the club at least 3 times a year. Its not something you do every weekend or even every month though)

Funny enough, it was Eddie Murphy’s first comedic specials Raw and Delirious. It was mainly due to his fashion choices:

Now fast forward to today, I start to like it everyday because his jokes don’t sound like jokes anymore.

Eddie had no business mocking fags with that outfit, no business!

The thing that comes first to me is synth pop and disco music. As a kid and young teen I always gravitated towards alternative music, so hearing late 70s and 80s “dance” music cringed me out.

Mid-teens I started appreciating corny 80s tracks which exposed me to many synth tracks I would’ve normally avoided and around 18 developed a love for Donna Summer’s music.

Star Trek was the most boring shit I'd ever seen when I was kid. I wanted the SPACE COMBAT and SPACE JEW SLAVE OWNERS of Star Wars. As I got older I realized I had missed out on a wonderful universe of sincere sci-fi cheese and never looked back.

And then a decade later they turned Star Trek into Star Wars. (:_(

King of the Hill. Never understood it as a kid, but it's one of my all-time faves now.

I've never been able to get into that, even as a kid there was just something about it that I can't put my finger on but I will say that it's an incredible slice of life for Americans.

Parents always tried to make me care about ancestry and our family's cultural history, but I didn't give a shit about any of it until recent years and family started dying. Now I understand that it really is everything we have, and I've spent the last 2 years educating myself on it to ensure my younger relatives get good information if they ever ask me about it one day.

You never know what you you have lost till you've lost it, I'm big on family history and I've made sure that my mum and dad have written on the back of all there photo's who what and where.

Handwriting practice! Hated the repetition and tedium, and I think that being left-handed added some issues as well. My cursive was illegibile and I had no interest in fixing that. More recently though I decided to tighten up my printed handwriting specifically for comics, and very recently have been learning uncial script.

I'm a Leftie an Dyslexic and the way handwriting was taught to me was a mix of being left handed is bad and your dumb because of it - I now prety much exclusively write in my journal with fountain pens and in a near copper plate script, me neice god love her looks at my writing and says she wants to write like me and in school is given the shittest pencils and paper so when she is here I let her go wild she's only just turned 4 but she's doing a really good attempt at her name I've wrote down for her to copy.

Perfume. Turns out my mom only use perfumes that smell like a chemical mess, which I hate to this very day.

My mum used to have this scent she used around 89 - 95 me and my sister can both describe and remember but can't find we get close and my mum has no idea what we are talking about, she then started using some weird scent we both agree was horrible.

I've found it's not the vegetable it's self it's how it's cooked, and the quality of them matters too - I hate boiled sprouts slimy horrible flavorless crap - but steam them for 10 min then fry them in some bacon fat they are lovely, Brocolli is really nice when it's not boiled to death and not that crap you buy in the store, just slightly steam it and your golden.

I grow 90 - 95% of my own veg these days, and I use older verities as they taste better and are more hardy, I'd grow more but the potatoes and onions take up a lot of space but I can normally trade with others for there surpluss.

Christianity. I can't imagine my life without God anymore.

Exercise. Particularly weightlifting and powerwalking. Come out feeling like a stud.

Healthy eating. I still wouldn't call myself a health nut or anything like that, but having a balanced diet and maintaining your body makes you feel good. With exercise, it makes you feel powerful too.
