When I was looking into Rosicrucianism, a mystical order intimately linked with Freemasonry, I was bemused to find that they appear to have been partially co-opted by environmentalists. (Or at least the American branch which is a 501c3).
Observe here, in their most recent manifesto claiming kinship with the original Rosicrucian manifesto released in 1614, how they make "ecology" one of the fundamental pillars of their order.
This was totally out of left field from everything else I've found out about them, and it really feels like there must be a single guy in their leadership who has a boner for saving the planet and shoehorned this in.
