Why does Chris always depict himself with his eyes having two different colors?

I am not nearly as experienced a Christorian as most of you guys, so hopefully someone can explain. From what I have seen it doesn't seem like his eyes are blue and green, at least not in any obvious way that I can tell. Could he have heterochromia iridum, or is he just trying to look cool?

From what I've gathered, he does have heterochromia. Although I think he exaggerates it in his comic. From what I've seen, the difference between his eyes isn't THAT big.
