I imagine The Flash will fail because it's a DCEU movie and the franchise has become a laughing stock. If anything buoys this movie up to a success it will be Michael Keaton returning as Batman for a Spiderman: No Way Home style movie, and Keaton wasn't even that good of a Batman. No one likes awkward autism Flash, we've seen that character a thousand times in every Goddamn Pixar movie and people are bored of that lazy "relatable" archetype that Hollywood vomits up when they have no idea what personality to give a protagonist.

So far, we're finally seeing critics shitting on the new Marvel movie, the third Ant-Man movie to be specific, the first since Eternals on November 2021, but as of the time of this post, it will not be released until tomorrow (technically tonight if counting sneak previews). If by any chance it grosses less, then we can finally see an end to capeshit cinema for a while.

The Flash will still fail regardless, and it won't be just because of Ezra Miller or the DC branding or anything. It's because people are finally opening their eyes and trying to look for something new, while normies are hoping to look for a niche thing that they will have big companies to milk as a new popular trend.

I'll admit I got a kick out of seeing Keaton as Batman again. Not enough to want to see the movie though as I seriously dislike Ezra Miller's portrayal of the Flash. That and they're already doing a Flashpoint for the character. That should be a third movie kind of thing. Maybe a second movie if the first one was good enough.

Keep dreaming. While I'd love it if they stopped making capeshit it's not happening any time soon. Marvel is still cranking these things out and has plans going into 2025 if not further. And DC is always playing catchup because they have no idea what they're doing. They make a good movie once in a while but they never have the follow through for it.
 
Hollywood has a loooooong history I don't know much about TBH but I guarantee it had a psycho actor or actress at one point who was kept around because he or she cornered the market when it comes to playing psychos. Ezra would be the ideal choice for the starring role in a biopic about Andrew Cunanan or Elliot Rodger. He even resembles them.

Birds of Prey was released during 2020 it had lock-downs and covid panic working against it more than anything because it's not like most moviegoers care if the actors is a 1:1 of the character they're playing, especially if it's a character they're not familiar with. Fans raging about how Cassandra Cain wasn't accurate doesn't matter because unless you read comics you wouldn't know who she is.

I actually think if they WB switched Ezra for Grant it might succeed since some people are very 'nostalgic' for Grant's Flash despite his show is still running. Many people have fond memories way back when the show was first coming out.
