The common assumption about Facebook censorship of certain views like criticizing the child abuse that 'Amazing Desmond's parents perpetrate is that it is just regular US corporate censorship of views their masters disagree with.

Recently I listened to an interview with journalist Yasha Levine that prompted me to think about this in another direction. He matter- of- factly mentioned the fact that Facebook is free (or heavily discounted) to use- something that is generally funded by Facebook themselves- in many developing countries which still have some degree of moral sense (relatively speaking, by comparison to America or Sweden). This has been common in the Philipinnes and India for example.
These people are in a position where they can use their phones to call, or text... or receive a heavily curated pro-tranny pro-pedophile prolefeed from Facebook.

This made me think. Generally when we talk about the links between Facebook and the 'American' spy agencies, it's about the possibilities of using Facebook for mass surveillance. What if another substantial motivation behind the funding was the potential to use Facebook for curated propaganda purposes to destroy the morality of target countries, in a similar fashion to Radio Free Asia or Voice of America? Would be interested to see any research people have done on this angle.

i remember reading somewhere, maybe this website, that some countries pretty much just have facebook as the internet and i can't imagine there not being some sort of level of corruption where information is being used or controlled for nefarious purposes. i can't really point to anything in particular to prove this; i only have a suspicion of weird cyber-helter-skelter shit going on and offshore shenanigans really don't help

Facebook is practically unmoderated in some countries. Like in Burma you had people organizing ethnic cleansings of the Rohingya Muslims through Facebook. So I have doubts that Facebook is any good at enforcing their morality in most third world shitholes.
I get where you're coming from, but you're assuming that the actual goals of these people are consistent with their stated morality. Look at the case of the so-called nation of 'Sri Lanka' for example. Every Western organization from the US government to 'Human Rights Watch' endorsed the genocide of the Tamil people there, and other smaller ethnic minorities, because the US Navy wanted a secure port- and the Tamil Tigers were big meanies- but mainly because of the port.

They don't care about mass killings. Color revolutions are part of the mission.. the more interesting thing from my point of view is whether they are deliberately working to cause the degenerate moral climate that can help enable such schemes. Certainly Zuckerberg would have no moral qualms about such things.
