Facebook Will Openly Bypass Adblock - Or, Social Media Being a Shit it's Always Been

Adblock Plus is doing what Windows 10 does with data settings, switching crap off and on without your knowledge. If the service provider makes a transaction with the ABP crew, it can decide which ads from whatever category can be displayed at a moments notice.
Which you know more than invalidates the whole purpose of Adblocking in the first place, it's a symptom of a business gaining too much foothold in its market share.

I use ublock origin as a blocker and never really used facebook.
Honestly, I have no problem with ads as long as they aren't excessive, intrusive or trying to hijack my browser/os. But they so often are I default to blocking all ads.

After the shit FaceBook pulled with Timeline, using location based tracking on a smartphone to update without having to pull up the website, I can see why this will cause more people to leave the social network. They'll just find a new "timeline" to fuck others with.

facebook is dying anyway. Most people in my age group don't even really use it anymore, it's main audience is middle aged people.

It's dying in the West but globally it's growing. FB is extremely popular in India and other developing countries where phones and the internet are only now becoming cheaply available. This will be their primary market in the future. India alone could keep Facebook blue chip for decades.

I use 3 adblockers anyway I'll be fine. Granted it doesn't matter, a I don't use Facebook anyway.

I've gotten browser hijacked twice. One took a fucking picture of me on my godsdamn webcam. And this wasn't on particularly shady sites, they were decently well-known yet they still couldn't be fucked to check their goddamn advertisements.
Ads can suck a dick and I'm never getting rid of uBlock Origin.

Yeah FB was caught up in many "Sino-American" cyber warfare, I wouldn't be surprised if a hacker took your account down.
