Facepunch/Knockout Forums - A "welcoming" gaming and lifestyle community

lmao, even explaining the origin of the trap meme whilst calling others "chudheads" is now a bannable offense. Why would anyone willingly engage with this community?
The same reason anyone ever engaged with it to begin with, trying to cling to what facepunch used to be and ignoring the cesspool its become.
Though I think by now almost all those holdouts are gone and now its just a circlejerk of who can get the most offended.

It's a soulless husk of people desperately trying to relive Facepunch's glory days and refusing to let the past die. Knockout can pretend to be Facepunch as much as it wants, but it was never Facepunch, and it will never be.

It would be funny if enough users got fed up, they started yet another forum, but that probably won't happen because all the dissenters are just deleting their accounts upon realizing it's a community of retards beyond salvaging.

Considering the code is open-source, there's nothing stopping anyone from creating a new forum.
OK, I'll stop sandwich-posting now.

i don’t see another split happening. Normal users don’t give a fuck enough anymore, they know it’ll end up the same way so they jump ship all together. Troons are the only ones who give a fuck enough, and they already have control of the forums so why bother?

It’s also funny to me that the entire forum is run and filled with people I can’t recognize. Like, random ass trannies that were bussed in. There’s only a few names I recognize anymore. Just an endless sea of newfag trannies acting like they own the place

Oh look Zillamaster's back even though he made an overly dramatic exit not long ago
as is typical troon theatrics

"I'M LEAVING FOR GOOD!!!!!!! YOU'LL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!"
comes back a week later

It's funny how this is an extremely common theatric from the trannies yet they've tried to call out regular users for doing it lol

Remember when caring about ratings was bannable?

Now we have mods who ban just because you rated something lol
To be fair when the mod team was still full of OGs you could still be banned for ratings, but that was when the tranguard was first starting to emerge.

Throwback to when the main developer of Hammer++ got forced to reply to a news thread he rated "winner" only to be perma banned afterwards. That kinda reminds me how much of a low point that incident was until I realized all of KO's history is basically low points.

It still boggles my mind as to how FP used to have admins that could do the arbitrary ban dynamic without coming off as hypersensitive cunts that demand blood for the smallest of slights. The users just took the bans in stride, but the culture was still mostly that of a semi-serious forum where people could have banter with each other all ran by a mod team that understood how to keep everything cool.

I remember FP being notorious for banning people at the drop of a hat, but looking back I realise just how lenient it really was. There were rules but the context of the post and who made it always mattered, especially if it was funny. KO is what happens when you try to force people into behaving the way you want them to by enacting an insane amount of rules and giving no leeway whatsoever. That does not a fun welcoming community make.

FP had a typical frat house culture. Maybe exaggerated because Garry was a cunt from Britain and that's how British are (were?) However, people liked it, and Garry pointed out in one of his farewell posts that the initial influx of people seemed to be drawn to the place exactly for its harsh but fair-in-a-juvenile-way moderation. It's a cliché, but the introduction of women, even in an aesthetic form, destroys male spaces like that. I remember how it went down: first FP started having guys with anime loli avatars and people tolerated it, then sob threads started appearing gathering those guys, and now here we are where you have to submit to mental busybodies. I'm pretty sure KO statistically doesn't have any females, but boy do we have imposters who try hard to be bitches. I'm not sure what to make of it. I don't feel like riling up against empathy or banning anime is the way to go. But I recall hearing that ancient Greeks despised men who indulged in the sin of androgyny because they basically thought they were cheaters who were trying to acquire the benefits of both sexes while avoiding the responsibilities of those sexes, and boy does that sound right on the money with these characters.
