What cracks me up is that there's barely any ammunition against the Factorio guy, if he'd straight up said "In my humble opinion, trans women will NEVER be women" then you know what, I'd kinda understand the seethe but instead all he did was link to a programmer in a video that said something like that.

The whole thing feels almost manufactured in how based it makes the developers look when a bunch of seriously mentally ill people start logic like that Super Smash bros schizoposter.

I believe it would be in the Factorio dev's best interest to contact Steam directly to get some jannies in their Steam reviews and discussions. iirc Heartbeat devs had to do this as well, which is why a chunk of reviews were thrown into the trash fire:

It also makes Steam jannies hone in on these games more. They're more responsive to reporting off-topic reviews and promptly taking out the trash.

Edit: Though looking at Factorio's overwhelmingly positive reviews, they'll do just fine.

Valve basically own PC gaming. Even with a coordinated push from the media it would be very hard to change that. Epic games failed at it. EA failed at it. Ubisoft failed too. The only real competition is non-client based stores that are DRM free.

And don’t forget, they own it because they put business, not politics, first.

People feel comfortable dumping thousands of dollars into Steam because they trust Valve. That kind of trust takes years to build up, but can be lost in an instant. If Valve started doing dumb shit, you can bet you’d see a surge of video game piracy - not because people are doing it to own the SJW’s, but because they no longer trust Valve to continue providing unrestricted, indefinite access to the games you’ve purchased.

I downloaded the game after the drama and I seriously thought it was autistic as hell. It is about managing resources and product lines, and of course you can build trains.

I played 40 minutes and got really bored.

The game is autism in digital form, much like minecraft but with a top down view.

I'd agree in general but I'd make an exception for these cunts. You really don't want these people in your fandom. They drive away the vastly larger number of normies, not just hardcore redpill types. But frankly these apes would chimp out even if he'd just politely said no to their bullshit.

There's no need for Factorio to ever go on sale because it's insanely easy to pirate, the devs know this and know that anyone autistic enough to enjoy the game is probably autistic enough to care about the Steam Achievements too so will buy it so their accomplishments matter.
