I think any lost media relating to 9/11 tends to be really easy for people to have false memories of. Such as “LOL Superman” and “Skylight.mov” (2 of the most popular in searches right now). There is most likely photos/videos of 9/11 that are lost to time, but a video of someone being in the lobby walking around on 9/11 catching bodies hitting the ground would’ve been saved millions of times and easy to find. I fully believe that the video is just not real or will never be released.

One thing that I think has made people try to keep looking for the LOL Superman video is that a FOI inquiry was made that hinted the video is real but is being used in a trial.

My favourite type of fake lost media aren’t the ones made on purpose but ones with dubious evidence/basically urban legends.

I was just about to talk about LOL Superman. The video description sounds like extreme NSFL material but that only fuels my morbid curiosity. I personally don’t believe it exists as we have 0 tangible evidence it’s even real (not even a thumbnail). A popular early/mid 2000s shock video would have a lot more people remembering it rather than the few vague 4chan and reddit posts going “Oh yeah I remember something like that”

Also I’d add it’s crazy we don’t have any footage of jumpers hitting the ground.

I agree. If it was that big of a piece of lost media more people would remember it and it would have a more concrete line of events. Some of the mock-ups of what the video could look like make it intriguing to think about.

I am so thoroughly positive that I've seen lol superman. It was posted to /gif/ as when I was like 15 or 16 (should not have been there, saw things I wish I didn't see) It was one of those ant sized gif files, the timeframe would have been like 2010-2011.
I had just started browsing that shit site and I didn't know at the time that on impact they bounced like that. The entire ground inbetween the two buildings was covered in paper and debris, and they wound up taking cover under the overhang almost immediately after the guy dropped almost immediately to the right of the staircase. The guy bounced almost as high as the top of the archway on the bridge.
General theme of the post was talking down on the jumpers, basically ">be first responder trying to help people >some asshole lands on you. fuck the jumpers."

Panchiko - DEATHMETAL is definitely one of the fake "lost media" pieces that were created precisely to jump on the liminal spaces bandwagon and attract zoomers who value ARGs and internet mysteries. Imageboards are the easiest place to psyop, hence why first mentions of Panchiko were there.

FEX - Subways of your Mind truly was lost media, but after the band came forward and remade the song predditors started pissing boiled water. Ripe demographic for scamming with endless remasters and merch. This shit screams astroturfed.

LOL Superman
I honestly think this is fake AF. There is literally no evidence of the video existing and people might be conflating with Guy Rosbrook's video of a jumper hitting the ground or the video of a jumper hitting a light pole but I'm unsure if these footages were already available online 20 years ago.

Those who claim to remember LOL Superman are just trolling to convince gullible idiots to keep searching for a video that never existed especially if it's from Reddit or 4chan.

Yeah, so there's another footage of a jumper caught on tape hitting the ground on the WTC Plaza. Just skip to 2:22 for NSFL content.

Since it was a short video, I did the ghetto method of recording with OBS. FUCK YOU GOOGLE! Apologies for the audio being fucked.

Dude the band was discovered, it actually existed and frontman uploaded clean versionof the CD. It sounds obviously outdated and early 2000s. If you think that they spent around 7 years making sporadic threads on /mu, then go see a doctor.

Fake lost media is basically a creepy pasta genre. Cervine birth for example. Go for a punch is funnier considering the vortex of autism it caused, to the point of OP confessing it was all fake and redditards not believing him.

Three pages and no mention of Owen Hart? For years and years there were people online who claimed they either own or have seen the footage of him falling to his death at Over the Edge 1999. Later a pixelated video emerged claiming it shows the fall, but it's actually just Vic Grimes falling from that 40 Foot Scaffold at a XPW show.

Bro imageboards are the easiest type of websites to psyop and fedpost in. Just autistically spam whatever you want to shill and you're golden.
Ah, sure, "trust me bro". The best defense of them all. Just like people who called smart school boy an ARG on this very forum full of people like him. Have a nice day.

Necroposting in the thread with a "game" that was apparently made in the 90s in some Iranian game development studio for a console that never existed:

For a fake lost media shitpost there's some effort put into it.

Also necroposting for a little sperging (maybe we can revive this stuff if they move it to "media"?) the bad thing about fake lost media, specially horror-ARGesque stuff, it´s that they mix with the REAL stuff, this happened to me recently because I was searching for the animal crossing wild world ost and I found a shitty ARG, it also sucks because they mix it with original OST, why they do this?

I will say that part of how these fake lost media things get a foothold is that people are good at imagining things they saw, even if they've never actually seen it. It's easy to picture how Go For a Punch would look, even though it's clearly someone making shit up.

I remember seeing someone post on the lost media thread on reddit ages ago about a supposed Jaws rip-off called Paws. They never followed up on it but seemed like a dumb attempt at an ARG.

A day with spongebob. I don't remember much but it only lead to dead ends
From my memory I think the leading theory is that it was some weird investor bait fake movie by a company that was almost certainly some form of money laundering scheme. It never actually existed and never was going to.
