I've been seeing this thing pop up occasionally for a while now and man does it rub me the wrong way. Having someone who was a dude (with all the growth, muscle, etc. that comes with it) being allowed to beat up women because they "identify" as one. How the fuck did we come to this?
maybe a community watch (or Hulkmania) thread about troons invading sports/leagues might be a good idea. Idk, it just seems to be happening more and more right now.

Any sort of martial arts promotion that drug tests for substances which alter hormonal balance past, say, simple birth control should by its nature exclude people who do HRT.

Great work! Just telling you that the bootleg is going to face some real consequences because he plead down with an agreement called "MICAP", and then it was terminated on Nov. 3rd.
MICAP for those too lazy to read the link I posted is a sentencing-diversion tactic - for people who have Axis-1 disorders - that is common in most places. It's a compromise between the State and the offender. The offender promises to do better, get drug tested, go to therapy, and stay out of trouble for a certain amount of time(1-3 years according to the page). After that happens, the charges the offender has gotten are either reduced heavily or completely dismissed.
This dumb bootleg managed to sign a plea agreement on July 28th, and manages to get TERMINATED from the program on November 3rd. In less than 3 months, he manages to get kicked off the program. This is not just being punished but a full removal. Homeboy is fucked because Judges hate when they get incorrigible men who don't know how to follow rules and abide by them. Dude might actually serve some prison time.

He then fought for Championship Fighting Alliance in Florida using the false claim that he had a California MMA license.

Yes, but he wasn't allowed to compete in any MMA promotion that matters. Illinois local MMA is not UFC, Strikeforce, or whatever, it's just some local nonsense.
The UFC specifically regards him as a man and won't give him the time of day - because they don't want their actual female fighters to have their fucking skulls caved in.

Yeah I read that huh. It seems like the strength and size disparity between men and women is mostly what stops women from beating up men. But when you put two women in a relationship they tend to beat each other up because it's like level ground. That's why prizes for men beating up women are fundamentally stupid.

Trailblazing Trans MMA Fighter Fallon Fox Sets Biopic at Mark Gordon Pictures
The life of Fallon Fox, the first openly transgender fighter in Mixed Martial Arts, is the subject of a new film in development at Mark Gordon Pictures.
Fox’s story will be scripted by wedded writing team T Cooper and Allison Glock-Cooper, whose credits include NBC’s “The Blacklist,” BBC America’s “Copper” and Netflix’s “The Get Down.”
Originally hiding her transgender identity when she began competing in MMA, Fox feared transphobia would bring rejection from the wildly popular league. After nearing the upper echelons in ring, a journalist threatened to out Fox, who then boldly told her truth in interviews with Outsports and Sports Illustrated. The stories both inspired and caused backlash as well as further transphobic rhetoric in a debate over whether a woman who was assigned male at birth should be able to fight in women’s divisions in MMA.
Fox will serve as a consultant on the project. Mark Gordon and Bonnie-Chance Roberts will produce for the company alongside John Papsidera. The subject matter is especially timely, as 34 states are currently considering legislation that would ban transgender girls from playing on girls’ interscholastic sports teams. Arkansas, South Dakota, Tennessee and Mississippi have already made those bans law, joining Idaho, which became the first state to do so in 2020.
Fox previously starred in Michiel Thomas’ 2015 documentary “Game Face” with Terrence Clemens, a closeted gay college basketball player. That film follows both athletes through their coming out process.
“I’ve had a great time so far working with the producers and writers bringing this story to life, and I hope this film sheds some light on the topic of trans athletes in sports. This story needs to be told now more than ever,” said Fox.
Gordon and Roberts applauded Fallon as “a remarkable woman and athlete who has withstood and achieved so much in her life and who’s story is far too little known. She is a universal, living icon of strength and persistence.”
The Coopers added that “we know in our bones the inherent value in and necessity of telling stories from the inside out, rather than from the outside looking in. We’re thrilled to be teaming with Mark Gordon Pictures to help bring Fallon’s undeniably powerful and relevant story to the screen.” The writers are represented by Paradigm, Mosaic and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner & Klein.
Mark Gordon Pictures’ upcoming slate includes “Marked Man” at Amazon, based on the life of Marcus Garvey; “The Flag Makers,” a documentary feature that explores the nation’s largest American flag factory where nearly every employee is a refugee or immigrant; and the live filming of the Tony Award-winning musical “Come From Away.”
