What if Bethesda decided to make a blank slate type of Fallout game where it's just a basic map with some areas of interests for you to loot and shoot enemies and some towns too but you're supposed to mod the fuck out of it like it's gmod

Like Bethesda basically said "fine make your own fallout"

Tbh I was thinking if this being a thing where the mod devs won't have to worry about their mods breaking from a update. But then again thinking about it now Bethesda would somehow find a way anyways

But that has nothing to do with a game being a base platform like gmod or a full game and everything to do with how it's programmed and how updates are handled. It's usually intentional choices by developers on releasing updates as to whether or not mod compatibility is considered and also how mods themselves are developed, which parts of the api or code the work with or modify.

Mod breaking updates are just a thing mod developers have to deal with just because of the nature of what mod making is. You're making content for someone else's platform and you'll always be at the mercy of whatever choices the owners of that platform make.

Also, isn't fallout in gmod something that could already be made in gmod with enough time and effort? The fact that some autists haven't already done that says the idea's not really worth it.
 
There's a couple of those already but they're not made by Bethesda. There's FOnline, Gmod fallout servers, and those SS13 Fallout servers that die every month because the hosts are always trannies.

No.
It's all first account experience with no evidence. Even if I did just went ahead and did it.. They'd deny everything.
There was always lot's of little "family" drama here and there, mostly with well known people in the server being creepy.
Honestly, a lot of GMod servers are like this.. Hogwarts was just the most well known I guess?
 
I have very fond memories of how hilariously fucking terrible it is to play star wars gmod roleplay. If you ever wanted to play a game as a stormtrooper who gets yelled at every time he does something fun and organize a rebellion that's always cool.

Honesty why the hell does no one ever just make a team death match server with all the fallout/ star wars/ whatever assets. ? It's just a bunch of idiots talking in a room like red vs blue on a good day.
