This isn't really a problem in 1 where the game generously gives you some starting weapons based on your build, but it is an issue in 2 where you start out with a spear and your bare fists regardless of whether you're specializing in either of those, so you'll have to suffer through until the second town where you can get your first gun (either that or just avoid everything if you put enough points into Agility).
There's multiple ways through the Temple of Executive Meddling, you can talk the 'boss' down iirc

Also a thing to remember is that aiming at different body parts is actually useful in 1+2 whereas in 3+4 its ALWAYS head shots, 100% of the time.

I find dismembering them to be more effective in 4.

Not to mention hilarious.

Oh come on; you've blown a guys arms off and he's running around calling you a fucking asshole.

Plus blowing the knees off a ghoul is the quickest way to deal with them in 4.

Todd Howard is a jacket wearing dum dum who's spent his entire career taking the credit for the talent and hard work of his subordinates! And I bet he doesn't even have a real office, he's probably got some Fisher Price toy phone and some old POS Pentium 4 that can only run Peggle. And every once in a while, he breaks out the crayons and does a childish scribble of a deathclaw holding a money bag, he saunters over to Pete Hines and says "Hey unca Pete, I made a design document!" and Pete pats him on the head and says "Awww who's my bestest little guy!" and he puts the drawing on the fridge in the employee break room.

That being said, though, if I ever met him IRL I'd probably squee like a schoolgirl and ask him to sign my Elder Scrolls Anthology box set.

Eye crits kill just about anything really quickly. Aiming at other body parts is just for fun or sport.

Never played 1 and 2. How does it differ to the present fallout games?

I heard that it's filled with trial and error.

Picklocking doors? I just blow them up with C4 or buy a picklock kit

Killing people? I walk around with an army or go solo and abuse corners.

Quests? I just read and loot everything.

Play with Killaps patch and have 10 Agi. That should solve most of the complaints that people have with the game. Guns, unarmed and explosives are all viable.

Fallout 1 and 2 are some of the best games ever made.

They spent the first half of their dev time playing doom and pacman and then rushed the game out.

I've never had to fight him because I always emphasize speech when I play Fallout. Conversation is more fun than straight combat imo.

Always more fun regardless of series to use their own logic against them. Either convincing the little shit Myron to make a Jet cure, the captured Legion member to cough up the info, or the ZAX computer in 3 to #killyourself

Gotta make the bux though. I'm not mad as it seems most games are doing that, and if I can do so on a payday I'll do a small amount. Sure do wish they would listen and increase see things but...that's me being optimistic

Anyone have any info on how far along the Fallout 4: New Vegas mod is. Been hyped about it for like a year and a half. If they ever do finish it it will be the only reason to get that trashfire of a game Fallout 4.

Its amazing how it isnt just NV on 4's engine but they actually implimented the reputation and stats mechanics back, fucking showing Bethesda could have done it better but they didnt...

Your best answer:

Though I did like Fallout 4 as the story seemed to be a good setup like a movie. Some things and glitches were shit but eh. Just me.

I am excited to see how this will pan out though when released.

Thanks for the link man, but your statement about Fallout 4 cannot go unpunished you will be lashed to a cross for such degeneracy profligate.

Yeah the devs of the F4NV mod seem to be extremely talented and its why Im hyped to get the incredible story/world of New Vegas in an updated engine.

Literally nothing you do within the confines of the fifteen minute plot that comprises all of Fallout 4's main quest line ever matters anywhere. The most significant NPC moment is encountering a raider with no impact to the main plot line and unique dialog with non-essentials who don't even have anything interesting to say or do if you picked the worst possible outcome. Yeah you cast down the Brotherhood of Steel's flagship, good for you Nate/Nora? Oh, there's a crater where the Institute used to be... So why are first and second generation synths still chasing you around after their source goes kaboom?

No mobs coming after you for actions which should impact the people of the wasteland from all walks of life greatly.

As shit as Fallout 3 was, at least destroying Megaton haunted you with random encounters.

Getting caught in a jam with the daughter of a man you killed doesn't hang over your head.

Raiding settlements doesn't put a bounty on you, really why have a settlement building system if your reputation as a leader is the only reputation that is tied to any stretch of civilization?

Becoming the enemy of the Minuteman Remnant has no cost, in fact it's more liberating to put them all down in the least dignified matter possible, because DISNEY WARS of all trademarks exhibit more personality than any of the FO4 era factions.
