Fallout series

True. And it sucks because I like New Vegas. But the cult it has and the rabid hipsterdom inherent to modern day fallout 'fandom' is so fucking cancerous.

Like wowee billy you sure are so cool for shitting on a popular game and saying Bethesda 'ruined' fallout.
I love NV but I also remember it running like literal dogshit the day it launched, the myriad bugs it still has, and how to this day people are still digging up how much didn't get finished in it. It's a gold mind of lost potential.

Also the fact that if Bethesda didn't make FO3 there'd have likely been no NV as it was. Can't really say if the Van Buren prototype would have really hit me as well as NV did.

Really at this point I'm just tired of the constant yammering about it since the games involved released ages ago, their strengths and flaws have been long dissected, and on down the line. Shit's tired, I'm tired, play what you like and stop being a fagzilla is my take.

I just dislike 3 cause it was set in an area I grew up like an hour or two away from and was sick of. Admittingly I do shill NV a lot but most of it is just because I like Joshua Graham.

EDIT: also cause I disliked 3's lack of iron sights while ADSing and liked NV actually adding proper iron sights

Wasn't Master experimenting with FEV itself before finally perfecting the formula? Been long since I've played one yet I bet there was a holotape with his memories 'bout sperging on how dipping other creatures creates inferior tards to be absorbed. And how he, the supreme gentelman was able to connect to the computer systems of Mariposa to work further on getting the FEV right.
The Vault 13 guy in the Followers was captured by Super Mutants when basically doing how you get the Water Chip in the game and became a Ghoul like creature. Despite three times someone who was totally clean became a ghoul like creature he wants to dip everyone in Vault 13 which is how you lose the game.

I actually liked the twist of your descendants becoming a bunch of retards crossbred with tribals.
Fits the tone of repeating mistakes, being fed up with humanity and escaping your problems.
Yeah take group of modern Americans. I still remember meltdowns on social media when Wu-Flu started, because there was temporary shortage of toilet paper and restaurants were closed.
So many of them will not have skills required to survive outside modern society. Now throw them into underground bunker for few generations. And while there are certain survival skills you can learn in vault like first aid, shooting... There are many that you can't. Now release this group into hostile enviroment of wasteland. Do you think they will survive If they dont manage to join some existing friendly community?

Only if they have 10 luck

I see that the season pass for Fallout 4 is on sale on Steam. Is it worth getting it?

The DLCs are a mixed bag. Automatron is pretty decent, Far Harbor is amazing, Nuka World is okay if you ignore the dumb one sided-ness of the plot, The Vault DLC is cool if you like building, and the two Workshop DLCS are only useful if you like building bases.

I found them all decent, FH being the best of them, with Vault DLC in second place for me.

Where's the Fallout? It looks like your average sunday in london.
I wonder how the lore will cover how dentistry is mythologically remembered or forgotten utterly.

I think it would have been terrible. Fallout 2 is already way too wacky and pop culture heavy, it's like the Borderlands of its time in how aggressively unfunny and referential it was. Van Buren was apparently going to be even more over the top, with space stations and wacky orbital lasers. Seems to me like it would have taken the series into a much more cartoony direction.

You can shit on Bethesda but Fallout 3 helped to reintroduce a lot of tragedy and somber atmosphere into the series.

I blame Hbomberguy, millions of people tuned into his smarmy video where he basically just stole critiques from the internet and now NPCs have someone on YouTube telling them how to feel.

A lot of Fallout The Frontier including the Enclave space station, the crusaders, and aerial battles were taken from Van Buren design documents so we actually have a fairly good idea of what Van Buren would have been like if it ever came to fruition, probably not very good.

Yeah, degenerate furry modders not being able to do anything good with some design ideas from Van Buren shows that the people who made Planescape: Torment also wouldn't have been able to do anything worthwhile with the game.

New Vegas also uses a lot of Van Buren ideas. The Legion is an absolutely retarded idea that turned out decently due to strong writing.

I kinda want to start getting into modding Fallout 4 just to piss people off. Make a mod called Klan of the Kommonwealth. Upon starting you're approached by several men in KKK uniforms who ask if you want to join the Klan. If you say yes then they give you a set of Klan robes and tell you "You know what to do, brother!" and it begins a neverending quest called The Great Purge which has only one objective: Kill Niggers. It would basically just let you collect the ear from any NPC who is black to turn in for caps.

Refusal causes them to start shooting at you, as well as any other Klansmen you find who now randomly spawn across the Commonwealth.

I predict it would be on the Nexus for all of 5 minutes. But man, what a 5 minutes that would be in terms of screeching.

Unironically I would probably reinstall FO4 for this

You could just make this about mutants or mutie lovers then make it the exact same idea without it being as blatant. Would be something I could see in the game if they were feeling edgier. Could even make it a BoS split-off or something inspired by their rhetoric. Could even be they think being dark skinned is a radiation born mutation. It would be hilarious.

It would also last as long as it takes to report it if it doesn't somehow catch a filter on the way in.

Go for it. Automatron & Nuka World are good times, and Far Harbor might just be the best expansion Bethesda has made since Oblivion's Shivering Isles. The workshop DLCs are so-so, but some value can be found if you're into building settlements, and the Vault one has a solid dungeon to explore in addition to building.
