Fallout series

>Be Goodspring boomer
>watch as your town in the middle of nowhere is flooded by fat troons and shitty cosplayers that obsess ovver a decade old computer game
>watch as they be the most obnoxious shits possible
Don't they still do that American Grafitti festival in Modesto ever year? It's just that but with fallout shit.

I haven't played much New Vegas, only did a Mr. House route, why do redditors and trannies love Yes Man? I thought Yes Man was like a "chaotic neutral" path
Yes Man is supposed to be an ending you can fall back on in case you pissed off all the other factions as he cannot be killed and will just take control of another securitron. It's also supposed to be an ending were it's you who takes control of The Strip as Yes Man was originally programmed to help Benny take control and overthrow Mr. House. Hence why he's called Yes Man as he was programmed to never say no or disobey any orders given to him. It's more or less the headcanons and power fantasies of trannies and redditors that gets them attracted to Yes Man since they'll have that total control.

I've always thought it's most entertaining to see Yes Man as the last resort of a Courier who is a complete fuckup as a diplomat. Sure, you can see it as the path to power for a Courier who's brimming with ambition (or, more charitably, a vision of what the Mojave should be), but it's funnier to think of it as a guy who blundered into murdering Caesar, pissing off House, and alienating the entire NCR.

It fits really well as Yes Man barely lets slip his utter frustration and contempt for you whenever you do something like blowing up the bunker at the Fort.

I seem to recall he's not much happier if you don't destroy the Brotherhood of Steel.

I didn't know Goodsprings was a real town.

It's probably been posted here before, but this is a great video showcasing a lot of real life places used as reference material in the 3 fallouts that take place in the same general area, FO1, 2 and NV.
Goodsprings is visited at some point, and this video features a lot of ghost towns that inspired designs in the early games. Like the one linked.

I find it bizarre that the Vault Dweller never mentioned Tycho or Katja in his memories, only Ian and Dogmeat. Some said its because they both died and their deaths hit the V.D hard, while Tycho and Katja never died and simply went on their separate ways afterwards with no fanfare whatsoever. Some say they never canonically joined the V.D at all (and making them join you isnt particularly hard) which is hard to buy.

Its such a minor thing but it still kind of bothers me

I said tactics because it is a pretty detached setting from the main series and you would have more creative freedom (again, if used well). And its semi-canon so it can get away with a few changes. Besides, it would be an excuse to center it around the BOS from the get go (and unlike what some would say, that wouldnt be Bethesda's favoritism towards them in this case, this is legit how Interplay themselves made it).
Tactics would work the best simply because it's the perfect setup for unconnected episodes like Star Trek or early X-Files. You'd basically have the team going on a different mission each episode. Gives the writers a lot more freedom.

He even comments if you convince the NCR and the Brotherhood to team up.

The funny thing is doing that and then doing the Yes Man ending would be entirely fucking pointless, because the NCR withdraws during the ending and the Brotherhood is just going to back to dicking around and harassing people for their technology. Doing that route is pretty involved and it's hilarious to think that the courier does all of it for absolutely nothing. Yes Man is the perfect chaotic retard route and I will always prefer it being that instead of political erping.

That's it. That's the answer. Not incluiding troons and redditors.
IMO is the best way to fuck off the 3 armies.

I just think pissing off two of the biggest armies in the West, while being sandwiched in between them, is asking to get fucked over.

All assuming those glorified Trog reskins don't make any of the endings irrelevant in the long run, of course.

I really like how siding with House involves sandbagging the NCR to such a comical degree. Even though you can't work with them after a certain point, it's entirely feasible to continue doing sidequests for them and not have them declare you an enemy, right up to General Oliver showering you with praise up to the point you kick his ass out of the Mojave. It's great that the game is nuanced enough to let the NCR be your opponent but not your enemy.

Of course, Yes Man lets you throw him off the Dam if you like, which is a strong incentive to pursue that ending as well.

I wonder what the death messages of F3,NV and 4 would be like

I got some for 3 and NV

F3

"You have met your end, Lone Wanderer."
"Your journey beyond the vault has reached its end, Lone Wanderer."
"With your death, you shall never know what has become of your father."
"After an intense fight with the super mutants, you have been struck dead with a hail of bullets. However, that wont be enough to keep the super mutants from feeding upon your carcass."
"The Raiders showed no mercy. Your body becomes the next macabre addtion to their decorations."
"You have died and Project Purity now rests at the hands of the Enclave. The Capital Wasteland is doomed."
"As you fall dead, you join your father in death. May you find your peace, Lone Wanderer"
"With your death, The Enclave remains the unchallenging force in The Capital Wasteland, and soon, even beyond it"
"Even with your best struggles, The Enclave was able to achieve victory after your death. The Brotherhood of Steel fought bravely to the last paladin but it wasnt enough."

FNV

"You have escaped death once, Courier. No such luck this time."
"You have been blown to pieces by the Powder Gangers and their explosives. Goodsprints belongs to them now."
"Just another meaningless death in the Mojave"
"Benny will never face the consequences with your death"
"With your death, the Platinum Chip remains undelivered. Your rotting carcass will remain holding the fate of the Mojave until someone scavanges it"
"Despite your efforts, the legionaires brought your life to a brutal end, in the name of Mars...in the name of Ceaser."
"You cease to be as the Desert Rangers quickly finish you off. The NCR remains unchallenged."
"With a brutal slam, Lanius destroys your body in a horrific demonstration of strength."
"Even with the best of the Legion on your side, it wasnt enough to stop General Oliver and his men from ending you with a clean and precise shot from their Anti Material rifles."
"With your death at the hand of his securitrons, Courier, Robert House becomes the ultimate power in the Mojave. It seems it is true, the House always wins..."

I'm trying out 76 (I got it for free) because nothing else really interests me and I have a good bit of free time. Gameplay wise it's alright. I don't know why, but I really hate 4 and 76's artstyle. I don't know what it is, but it lost the charm it had when Bethesda made 3 and then Obsidian polished what Bethesda made. My only issues are why anyone cares about some 60 year-old woman going on a road trip.

Bethesda seems to be able to make some interesting stuff. The region and some of the enemies are fun, except for the Supermutants and Scorched those just feel like crappy raiders. It's too much of a Sandbox, you're an errand boy for your boring wine mom. For the life of me, I cannot understand why these people write the most grating female characters. Every fucking one is so cliche and pointless. Moira from 3 was fun because she was chipper in spite of the world, but that was the point and she was mostly for a side quest. I swear to god, write a charismatic character. People loved Caesar because despite his pessimisstic outlook he was genre savvy in an entertaining and endearing way, he called out how everyone was pretending like the world never ended with the NCR. Harley Quinn Raider Robot, bald dyke raider, and generic geriatric wine aunt do not inspire any sort of fun.
