If this guy would have a Patreon tied to this project, or was loudly advertising various forms of financial support, i would be more inclined to believe this was an elaborate plot to suddenly disappear with the money - "Oh noes you guys, the bad Immigration office enforcers got my unregistered, illigal person, i won't be able to continue this project (that i have done remotely with all the other creators) in my country of origin, that also has all the amenities needed to contiue my work.
