Something positive for a change, I am wondering what everyone's favorite towns (as a world zone) are?
Been playing through NV again and was impressed with how good Freeside feels as a world zone, lots of quests which move you around the area with multiple objectives and different solutions to the problems posed to get you over the 2k cap finish line. Really well made to purpose as a contained and miniature open world.
Probably Camp McCarran, lots of things to do there, it also has my favorite skill check in the game, and a sneak one at that which I don't think there is many of in the game.
When I first played New Vegas I had 2k caps by the time I got to freeside but I thought the securitron was actually going to take those caps. But doing the quest for The Kings is a good idea for a first playthrough anyway so in the end I'm glad the check wasn't very clear

There is lots of loot along the traditional route to New Vegas, I'm not even talking about the obvious stuff like weapons and armor. There is lots of batteries and other miscellaneous supplies you can sell or keep if you want to do a lot of crafting.
I've seen people overlook those items when they're checking out shacks and other small spots, but it adds up quickly. It is definitely worth the weight if you are prioritizing making caps efficiently.
Just wanted to ask since I was curious. Are mods still broken ever since Bethesda fucked them up with their last update for Fallout 4? Lately I've been wanting to try playing it (Again since I dropped it because of how much I started to hate the looter shooter experience even with the Start Me Up mod.)

I'd just downpatch anyways for stability reasons. Only needs one extra mod (and only if going to pre-"Next-Gen") over trying to redo the entire modlist.
Definitely a Brahmin, Aradesh was very learned about Brahman and gained infinite Izzat by making the Vault Dweller do everything for him. I think he even says "Brahman bless you" if you rescue Tandy for him.
Playing through Tale of Two Wastelands, just reached Vegas after completely scraping all the content out of Fallout 3 I could.
R.I.P Trudy in a Legion ending Fallout: New Vegas Official Game GuideCollector's Edition pp. 460-461:
Besides a (highly unlikely) military defeat, Caesar fears one thing only: exposure. The denizens of the wastes are too ignorant to realize that his entire empire is a grand act of plagiarism, but the Followers of the Apocalypse know exactly who he is and what he has done. Should his tribe discover that he cribbed the entire culture from books about ancient Rome, rather than having its customs dictates dictated to him by Mars...well, it's very unlikely that could happen. And he won't let it happen. That is why his forces have a standing order to kill all Followers of the Apocalypse on sight, and to brutalize all 'civilized' or learned captives and haul them before Caesar's interrogators. Those who make the mistake of saying, 'Hey, you guys, it's like you're emulating the ancient Roman empire,' end up as severed heads on poles."
By this standard, he'd have to kill near enough everybody West of the river is seems. It also doesn't mesh all that well with Caesar's actions in the ending, where he lets the FotA in Old Mormon go. I guess the writer mixed up Lanius' reasons for killing them with the Legion as a whole or something?
In-game, there's not too much said on Caesar's Mars-based religion. The guy who alludes to it most is Lanius, and it's not really expanded upon. Caesar does call himself the Son of Mars but he's understandably curt about the lore of his own "means to an end"-faction so there's not too much said from him on that. Others also remark on Caesar's status but, again, religion is sparsely spoken of.
A majority of detail on the religion (sparse as it is) comes from the strategy guide. The guide was written wholly by David S.J. Hodgson with no involvement from the New Vegas writers themselves. The reason why I'm bringing him up specifically is this guy appears to be Fallout's own version of J.K. Rowling, and he's still the main writer for the Fallout strategy guides to this day.
I'm personally weary of his lore additions, especially because he's very left-aligned given the context of terminology he uses in his writing. Here's a remark on the NCR's discrimination policy:
By law, the NCR prohibits persecution and discrimination on the basis of gender, ethnicity, sexuality, or religious belief (so long as said religion does not advocate violence). Legal protection of Ghouls and other mutants was added in 2205, though enforcement of these rights has been spotty. For the most part, the NCR's practices live up to its ideals, but there has been some retrenchment since the death of President Tandi. Aaron Kimball's popularity was amplified by a reactionary undercurrent, especially among males, calling out a need for a "strong man" to lead the NCR forward. In the years since Kimball took office, male military officers have been promoted disproportionately to females, and discourse arguing the differences between males and females has reappeared.
Fallout: New Vegas Official Game Guide Collector's Edition p.457:
Aside from the fact this isn't really demonstrated or alluded to in-game at all, the "reactionary males" being the cause for the NCR's decline in tolerance is pretty typical. Using "reactionary" in the context of sexism/discrimination is pretty blatant, and he's all but saying Conservatives/right-wingers are degrading meritocracy and individual rights within the NCR.
Playing through Fallout 3 in TTW I occasionally just looked on the wiki at certain characters and quests after finishing them in case I missed anything. I was surprised at a couple of random characters being gay despite it never coming up at all.
He's also weirdly inconsistent. For example: Carol and Greta aren't a couple according to Hodgeson, but Flak and Shrapnel are, despite the former having more evidence than the latter.
In-game, Shrapnel has slept with Trinnie (a woman) hence the latter constantly annoying him. Flak is called a "queen" by Grouse once he's enslaved. Either Flak is gay or Grouse was just calling him a faggot. Shrapnel, regardless, has no evidence supporting him being gay and it appears Hodgeson made him gay because Flak might possibly be gay.
Meanwhile Carol and Greta have been "life partners" for 60 years.
He also made Sydney, the relic hunter, into a lesbian. The only reason I can gather for this is because she says she prefers hanging out in Underworld because the ghouls don't hit on her as often. Also, if you get the reward for the Declaration of Independence without her, she hunts you down with another woman. That's about all the evidence I can gather.
I can only assume he made Sydney a lesbian with a short-haired redhead and made Carol and Greta straight is the result of him finding the former a hotter image in his head than the latter.
Odd to think there's only 3 gays/lesbians in all of Fallout 3 (Anthony Ling, Carol and Greta), with 2 possible bisexuals (Nova & Clover - both prostitutes/sex slaves). Nova and Clover simply use the same dialogue for the player regardless of sex so pragmatically from a design viewpoint it's easier to not account for it.

On fallout.wiki they apparently have a special thing in the “interactions” infobox to designate this. Why is it even there? It has literally nothing to do with the actual gameplay and is pretty irrelevant.

I have and they were always a minority in those circles.
Most of the time its just them wanting to see the 2 fuck or be fucked by the male in the ship.
Freeside for sure, love freeside in the show as well. Honestly it sucks gameplay limited how many npcs are actually in freeside cause its more interesting with an accurate population count.
