Fallout series

Thank god, I thought no one hated Ramblelime but me. If I'm remembering correctly he basically shit all over the entire Someguy series for making tribals look savage and calling it racist without actually looking into the novels Someguy was directly referencing.
The whining about muh tribals and the commie cocksucking in Salt Lake City Stories, not to mention the random rant he went on about right wing Nazis loving power armor and the enclave in The Frontier, I suffer not the commiefag to live.

I started with Fable many years ago.

I started with Knights of The Old Republic back in the day. I still get nostalgic when I hear the theme.

Don't get discouraged from playing the series. There's a lot to be said about the differences in quality from game to game, sure. But I think it really comes down to what you value most in an rpg and what you want to get out of it.

I always thought nv was considered most popular and a normie game
The hardcore New Vegas community is delusional and believe this even though the numbers do not lie. Normies follow Bethesda Fallout, not Interplay/Obsidian Fallout.

It's why there is such a huge freak out over the TV show. I think they're finally having to confront the truth that their Fallout has been dead for 18 years and New Vegas was a mini miracle that isn't going to be replicated.

For someone who likes New Vegas, this all reigns true. Except for that game and Brotherhood of Steel as they are both spinoffs of the main series, there hasn't been an actual good Fallout game since the second game in August 1998, and that has been almost 25 years ago as of the time of my posting

I enjoyed the series for what it was. It was campy fun, the props looked great, and it was actually worked on by people who knew the games. Lots of Easter eggs, too.

It's not ideal. But it's getting people talking about the games again, and in a way more positive light than before. Which means, hopefully, there'll be more incentive to actually put out stuff for players that's not just creation club money grabs.

Normie or not, I'm happy to see people excited about it again. Rate me optimistic, I suppose.

I guess because whenever I see people talk about nv they say its best In the series or has a good story. Whenever I talk to people about 4, most say the story is shit and just play to shoot stuff. When talking to one of my friends he tells he mutes the game and shoots stuff.

For ask good Fallout: New Vegas is, the fanbase makes you wanna bury your head in your hands.
That’s the nature of anything that people enjoy or like. Half the Kansas City faggots involved in the Fire arm community are people who I’d shoot if they didn’t in some way increase the possibility of the NFA being repealed.

What clown world do you live in where this is ever how anything plays out? All you're gonna get is an update for Fallout 4 that breaks mods, a couple new items on the Atomic Shop for 76, and maybe a tie-in quest for that game if you're lucky.

Could be worse, that's a pretty good one to start with.
It should be celebrated if the thing you like doesn't have large mainstream appeal.
Nothing more needs to be said, hit the nail on the head. And if you ever find yourself on the verge of being surrounded with waves of normies, get yourself a group of people who aren't normies and hold on to that rock for as long as your interested.

Just found that funny. Also, I find it hard to believe that the people who worked on the show even glanced past surface level considering the first few scenes already shit on the canon. At the risk of sounds like a massive cock, anyone who considers "lots of easter eggs" as a good thing is just...the phrase "I'm hecking pogging out!" came to mind, it's just consoomer mentality. "Remember Power Armor? Remember the Brotherhood? Remember-" you know what, most people who watched the show don't even know what any of this is so my point only really applies to exclusively Fo4 players. Is it really in a more positive light? All I see is people REEEEEEEEing about the show and the games now, as opposed to the few and far between "my game is better than your game" arguments I rarely saw, especially years after something released. There's no light in the end of the tunnel for people who aren't normies, and given that Amazon dropped this shit all at once means they had little hope for this shit to succeed. Most you'll get is people having arguments, some people soypogging about seeing something from the games in the show based on the fucking game's universe like it's an achievement, and back to business as usually for whatever they did before the show came to light. I think the Halo show was shit on purpose to lower people's expectation so when they inevitably watch the next slop they'll go "hey this isn't as bad as the last show, so that means it's good" because they're retarded.

Like what you like, let no one stop you, but you're way too optimistic despite everything pointing in the opposite direction of optimism. It's like seeing a small nuke fall on a major city and going "I'm sure they're fine" when everything is clearly fucked beyond belief.
INB4 "ew plebbit." Ew plebbit. Anyway, nice to see some redditors actually using parts of their brains to call out the stupidity. Some, not most.

It's worse than that. If they just enjoyed it in the wrong way and for the wrong reasons it could still be tolerable. Like say communist faggots playing Tau on WH40k.

The problem is the "people" who enjoyed this garbage series and think Fallout 4 was peak Fallout is that their input actively destroys the original material and replaces it with garbage. They are encouraging Bethesda to further shit up and destroy the series.

Honestly this series is a pretty good measuring stick for who is a actual Fallout fan and who is a nigger.

Nobody has actually explained to me what happens in this show that makes New Vegas non canon, other than some weird blackboard being cheeky and gay.

And I've asked at least twice now.
Pretty sure I've seen a few people talk about it, main example is the end shot of New Vegas which shows it partially destroyed. Shady Sands is also nuked, which apparently crippled the NCR according to the show. Odd thing I heard is that apparently the Brotherhood guy said the NCR "failed," I'm not sure the NCR would be put into "splinter groups" like the show says considering how absolutely massive they are, not to mention how it's mostly the spread out Brahman Barons who really control the NCR. But if they indeed are splinter groups of NCR left, then how would they invade the Mojave and fight the Legion at the Hoover Dam? Would the Legion just take over the Hoover Dam and then move on to New Vegas itself, which is why NV is such shambles? I haven't seen anything related to the Legion in that rubble so that's probably not the case, regardless that would fuck up the plot of NV. That would also imply that, despite Shady Sands being God knows how small a fraction of the NCR's total fighting force, it was enough of a blow to borderline destroy the massive NCR. Do they not have supply lines? Do they keep all their forces, equipment, everything at Shady Sands? Do they just give up? Retarded. Don't people in NV talk about Shady Sands like it's a functioning city? That would mean if it was nuked 4 years prior to NV and destroyed, why would people talk about it like it's still a powerhouse? Which it was before it got nuked. They'd have to move the nuking of Shady Sands up to after NV for it to even remotely make sense. Even if the Legion won at Hoover Dam, I doubt the NCR wouldn't return with a more consolidated force to try and push them out, but now they probably won't even fight in the first battle if they're in shambles like the show says.

If Washington D.C was nuked, the military wouldn't just crumble into 1000 pieces. If London was obliterated the British Army wouldn't suddenly be put into a state of utter disarray for so long they can't function anymore, turning into different roving bands of groups. There are military bases, government buildings, all you need to keep a country functional without Washington. It was be a hell of a blow, maybe less so than Shady Sands, but it wouldn't destroy an entire organization.

These people are telling me that all that territory doesn't matter because one city got fucked? Did they put all their eggs in one basket? INB4 they write it so the Shi took over the NCR territory, probably with the help of a girlboss. Even if the NCR lost the battle of Hoover Dam they still have so much more territory and resources to survive off of, it's not the biggest deal, just humiliating. Given that Bethesda (probably more Todd than anything) loves the idea of a wasteland more than a recovering world rebuilding itself from the apocalypse, they probably retconned any development Shady Sands, fuck it the whole NCR, have had over the 88 years since the NCR was founded and when the battle of Hoover Dam-oh I'm sorry, the nuking of Shady Sands. Even if Shady Sands was actually nuked later, say 2282 after NV took place, its stated the NCR was in the decline (that's where the blackboard is mentioned) which uh...yeah lmao nigger no. And the reason it was nuked is even fucking more stupid, two smucks wanted to hide the real reason the Vaults were made, or rather the "Societal Preservation Program." Why the fuck would that matter now? Even dumber, it was to kill one person, ONE FUCKING PERSON. Do they not have the ability to hire assassins? What would happen if the NCR knew about the Vaults? Why would they care at this point? Why waste a fucking nuke? It's all so fucking retarded.

There's Fallout 4 as well, which I hear is a dumbed down Fallout game
Not really. It’s the most engaging game as far as gameplay is concerned and the story isn’t Hitchcock, Scorsese, Leone or Demille levels of cinematic greatness but it’s enjoyable if you’re not a sociopath or someone with bad genes.
but the story of New Vegas is a mess.
I concur.
Mailman gets shot in the head and lives before going on revenge quest before being forced to side with Not USA, Walmart Rome, or Dollar Store Walt Disney/Howard Hughes.

For anyone reading this that hasn’t played New Vegas, it’s a fun game if you don’t take it too seriously.
Stick to “Yes Man” option if you wanna get the most enjoyment out of New Vegas and kill as many of the named characters as you can except for Boone, King and Arcade Gannon because they’re the only worthwhile characters to be around. Literally everyone else is an asshole, a rapist, a cannibal or some sort of douchebag that deserves nothing but death.
