I ran into a strange issue last time I played on a mostly vanilla setup where the game was running fine until about halfway through Old World Blues where I started to get a vicious microstutter that plagued my next twenty hours until I went and uninstalled then reinstalled all my stability mods. Which mostly fixed it (but gave me a different problem instead)

So it's possible you'll run into issues later. New Vegas is the only game I can think of that seems to decay in real time as you play it.

That's a problem with the game engine, Fallout 3 and TES Oblivion have that same problem. Happened to me too when I was replaying New Vegas once I was about 25 hours in.

Tbh a wasteland doesn’t necessarily mean a flat wide open place. Wasteland means “an unused area of land that has become barren or overgrown.”
Tbh most of the Mojave desert is already a wasteland now that I think of it.
But yeah I guess I can why someone would like that about NV.

I don't know why everyone wants KOTOR 1 to be remade so badly. It was his writing in KOTOR 2 that elevated the character of Revan to mythical heights, not the generic "attack of the clones" formula and forgettable writing that the first game followed. Since it was originally going to take place during Episode 2.

New Vegas was designed with its 'survival mode' in mind. So there are areas that require a lot of traveling to get to that are deliberately designed to be significantly out of the way of normal travel. Most of the DLC are designed around survival as well (especially because of the engine limitation of not being able to take companions with you). Honest Hearts restricts your carrying weight and Dead Money strips you of all gear entirely. New Vegas also has a lot of unmarked areas and unmarked quests which is usually something that modern developers never do. As they want the players to find everything easily.

Fallout 3 and other Bethesda games are designed with fast travel in mind as well. They want the player to basically be able to get from one carnival ride to the next without a lot of downtime. So any sense of world building or a logical layout of towns and cities and areas is not part of the development process. They know that no one is paying attention to the world they are just staring mouth agape at the map marker or cursor.

Fallout 3 is good, fight me.

Fallout 3 has the worst writing of almost any game I've ever played. And some of the dumbest world building and continuity probably ever in a major piece of media. Little Lamplight is the most bizarre inclusion in the series outside of maybe the alien or space travel plots. It was a sign that the franchise was truly over. New Vegas was a miracle. After that it's been nothing but trash since. Fallout 4? 76? Amazon show? Bethesda doesn't understand Fallout at all.

Fallout 3 is no different than Skyrim or Starfield. If you like those games then play them. Millions enjoy them. But Fallout 3 literally is just Oblivion or Starfield with a re-themed Fallout coat of paint thrown onto them. It's not even an RPG in the traditional sense. And it's not a Fallout game in terms of previously existing lore.

That’s how I am. I like New Vegas but god New Vegas fans are intolerable.

The ones on the wider forums like plebbit are downright heinous, makes me ashamed to even like the same game as them...well almost since they're easily ignorable. But I've seen plenty of decent folks who are fans but aren't glazing New Vegas as the king of all that is RPG and Fallout. You have to look for them of course.

Got a list? I microstutter constantly and I'm having trouble finding the exact cause NV is on a shit engine but this is a recent problem.

That's also news to me. Granted I was away from the farms for a while before biting the bullet and making an account (not sure why it took me so long) but eh. I mean you can at least see the "awards" you got on your account from who on what post but again it's news to me. I assume there's a thread about it?

World building is Bethesda’s bread and butter. Even most Obsidiots admit that is their strong suit and major advantage over Obsidian. Which is why Fallout 3 and 4 feel like rich, content laden open worlds and New Vegas is the most bare bones slop that anyone has ever shitted out.

This is another facet of Obsidiots that I’ve forgotten to mention previously. The way they literally change reality to fit their agenda and do it with such a straight face the whole time.

What is everyone’s favorite non energy gun in New Vegas? Mine is the Survivalist Rifle because it’s fun jack hammering enemies to death with it.
Ratslayer is fun too.

of the explosive perks loaded up with high explosive incendiary ori plasma and basically shred absolutely everything also cripple yourself in the process repeatedly because you cannot use this gun without severely hurting yourself also don't play on survivalist mode because you will murder your companions
also the scan is not for pouring fags because the gun it's like an insane amount of gaps for the reloads it is probably the best weapon in the game
