Fallout series

Fallout: Chicago is looking lit:
Fallout Tactics? It's already got an original intro track that plays on a radio, and thank god it's not nigger noises:
Honestly, I'm over old timey songs at this point. Bethesda ruined them for me, especially Fallout 4 where every other song is about nuclear bombs or radiation.
New Vegas did it much better, they feel less like le 50s songs that are so marketable for the franchise these days and fit in more with the lone survivor/cowboy theme the game has going for it.
I want something more experimental for future entries. I want more instrumental tracks, maybe some country or other lesser known genres if you have to bring lyrics. Hell, do what Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel or New California did and give us some heavy metal, say that this genre only started to take off around the time of the great war and was heavily censored by the government, hence why you can't find any records of it anywhere easily. BOS is a POS but one thing it has going for it is it's OST. You got Slipknot, you got Skin Lab, you got Chimaira, you got Killswitch Engine and you got Celldweller in one package, definitely a good mixtape. Sure, maybe these specific tracks are too much, but New California handled it pretty well, having it's own slew of more traditional tracks being composed by one dude and then having a second group make original metal tracks with their own backstory for the radio station. Hell, get another violin station like we've seen in Fallout 3, anything to get away from the retro slop.

Since we're on the subject and London seems to be a hot topic lately, it should be noted that the one thing they actually do have finished is their own entire OST
I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but what I did hear was pretty good. Even if the project gets cancelled or turns into vaporware, at least we will have a handful of original mods and 5 hours of music out of it.

Putting aside all other bizarre design decisions London is a very strange choice for a setting. Pretty much fallout's entire shtick is Norman Rockwell esq Americana turned post nuclear nightmare.

A European setting makes very little sense given how centered around American culture the franchise is.

It would be like setting the next Stalker game in Biloxi Illinois for some reason, what that make sense or would it be incredibly stupid?

When you go raid Hawthorne, it's treated like a big deal and everybody wants what's in there.). Expect combat to be hard and punishing, but the real meat lies in skills outside of combat, like Speech/Stealth or the side ones I listed. I definitely recommend it, but you will be SOL without a guide and there barely exist any for English speakers, the translation isn't all that good either. Be prepared to be confused and learn on the fly, in true classic CRPG fashion.
I really do wish some of these mods were also modded in New Vegas or 3 or if interplay remade them in 3d. Isometric will never be for me.

I disagree, other nations will have be changed by the point of divergence, that said I think a Fallout in the UK would be better in the north in cities like Newcastle or Liverpool, it would really add more to a bleak post apocalypse vibe and retain the mostly rural environment Fallout is known for.

Yeah, but that would be like Fallout: Detroit. Nobody would notice the difference before and after the bombs fell.

No coomery in the hot mods? I'm surprised. Meanwhile here comes NV. Also wonder if anyone posted this.

It's a tiny little mod but I downloaded it just in case. I did the same for all those mods that turned Fallout 4 characters white and soon after they got banned.
Also, lol at all the gun mods, like they will make F4 any better.

I backed up some of his mods as well just in case, there is no way this dude is getting away with this.
Speaking of which, he made a Misogynist(and a Misandrist) mod as well. The effects are unbalanced, but I can see potential in this, I might whip out the old GECK and edit it myself when I get the chance so it's actually worth taking.

Same, it's fuckin' sad. Can't wait to see it on Modding Haven or this...Basedmods I've just now heard off. Nice!

I'd have just ignored the bad faith actors/terminally political retards. Only makes things worse if you acknowledge them.

If you rebalance it, send it to him via DMs and see what he thinks.

I'd honestly go even further with it and commission postmodern jukebox to make covers of modern songs and originals if they really want to keep the 50s shit. Like, seriously, who the hell is actually listening to that crap? The 50s were over for like 120 years before the bombs fell. There was definitely new music coming out if Dean Domino was supposed to be famous.

That's exactly what New California and Frontier did: Every single track was original, with most of them between the two mods composed and written by one dude. I forgot what his channel is, but he's got the songs he made there, very talented musician. If you can trick the player into thinking these are actual songs released in the first half of the 20th century without any research, I think you succeeded.

its because this single youtuber has a discord which soley dominates the hot mods page called degeneratedak, hes worth looking into for the fallout 4 mod side of things, I have brought up some of his work in the thread before. Something to look forward to thats coming out of his discord and has been teased quite a bit is this. I personally have been following him since he has started his modding journey and he consistently pumps out pretty decent quality stuff for just like 2 or 3 dudes working on it.

Forgot to say the clip I added is not made by dak and by someone else

Jamming animations.

Elder Scrolls has like one novel I think. Bethesda is just allergic to tie-in media and a book would require they have an actual writer on staff. Emil can barely handle penning a script for a videogame where you shoot people in the face. Can you imagine how badly he'd handle a whole novel?
As someone who has been getting back to Gears of War due to nostalgia, unironically with the tie-in novels and comics in addition to the various spin off games (aside from that cringe Funko Pop game) the world of Gears has better lore than Fallout especially post Fallout 4/TV show.

It actually has a consistent theme about how "War Never Changes" and feels like a real lived-in world with politics and factions. It's also (essentially) post-apocalyptic as much as Fallout this with how much billions literally perish in each game to the point by Gears 4/5 they're running out of human soldiers and just start using androids as cannon fodder.

A fucking game series that started off as being the meathead jock younger brother of Halo absolutely mogging the fuck out of a role playing game series currently is something I never expected to realize.

Blows my mind that anyone would think otherwise (other than Mexico and Canada). I’d suggest for music that it should be expanded to around the 70’s so you can have a greater Americana selection. It would make sense for there to be punks and hippies running around, especially for as dystopian as pre war America was.

Bait. If you removed the Fenix family from the story, how fucked is it?

degeneratedak
I know him, watched his videos for a while but early this year I found his mods (again, just this time I remembered the name) and they're pretty good. Hilarious how he's dominating the modding scene for Fo4 since that game is practically dead modding wise. Compared to the shit coming out for Skyrim at least.
I'm finding out that Fallout Ashfall, the NV mod that takes place in Hawaii, is apparently "woke" now. What's the redpill on this?
Details? Ah, nevermind.
...kek. I think some people (or one person) is upset that a Hawaiian leader is darker skin and raised a big enough shitstorm to get people going.

Why have we never gotten fallout novels or Skyrim novels it seems like Bethesda is allergic to the idea of other forms of media I mean Halo has like 50 novels some of which are decent

Because the only time they allowed a third party to touch the franchise it lead to New Vegas, a game that they deep down hate for exposing how bland their writing and game design is. Instead of humbly learning from it and making further entries more akin to what people liked, they stick to what they know best, functional mediocrity.

An update from a lead:
They're still retarded. Even more so now it seems.

Next gen update is massively broken. They KNOW its massively broken, yet , they're STILL going to release it on next gen.

"Xdi and other plugins still need work done" THERE IS NO WORK THAT IS GOING TO FIX THIS. THE UPDATE IS BROKEN FROM ITS VERY CODE. THERE. IS. NO. FIXING. IT.

oh and i finally took a look at their patreon. Well they have a reason to stall this out:

Even if everyone is only on the basic membership they're making 3000 dollars a month. And you can't tell me they spend it all on this shitty mod.

I wonder whats so fucky about this situation when Fallout 3 had a shitty update and all it took was a downgrade mod to make all mods run just fine afterwards. Why cant the same be done to Fallout 4?

There is literally a one click downgrade utility for FO4 on the Nexus with millions of downloads.

The FO London devs are using the update as an excuse not to release their mod and despite being utter shitheads I can't exactly blame them.

Leaks have revealed FO London to be in very rough shape with horrific performance issues and some very questionable Frontier tier design choices when it comes to worldbuilding.
