All criticisms of Dead Money come down to "I suck at the game, that means the game is hard/bad!"
The lighting issue where the outdoor ambient light permanently sets you to having zero stealth is a legitimate gripe that was never patched. It's why the ghost people home in on you immediately no matter how many stealth and sneak related perks and skill points you have. You're supposed to be able to sneak by them as they have Perception 1 but instead they act like they have ED-E's infinite Perception perk.
If you struggle the second and third or more time around, then you're just not very good, you should have most of the DLC memorized by that point.
People hated Dead Money because when it came out the other DLCs were not out as well. Meaning the Courier has a lower level cap. And some of the newer perks and survival related recipes were not available either. Lonesome Road was also criticized because it was combat intensive and focused and was aggravating for a lot of the less combat oriented builds.

All criticisms of Dead Money come down to "I suck at the game, that means the game is hard/bad!"
There is no need to hate the DLC. You got filtered out, you aren't good at the game, it happens. There is very little actually wrong with the DLC, it's about as good as a content pack for a game like this can get. If you struggle the first time around, good, that's the point.
I never once died in Dead Money to the Ghost People. Died a few times trying to Parkour and died like 2 times per hologram area trying to find the projectors the first time around.
Dead Money is not difficult. It's tedious. And certain builds are more tedious than others and playing it past level 25 is a multiplier of tedium. You go from one tapping the Ghost People with a Holo rifle to two tapping them, from 2-3 shots to more than a full mag with the Pistol.
It's gameplay is also tedium. Got an energy build, fuck you go collect all the spent energy cells Elijah left on the floor.
Also doesn't help that the BAR is dogshit so you only have 2 ranged weapons, hardly any explosives, melee and unarmed. The other DLC were smart enough to circumvent that by allowing you to use your own shit.
It's not very long. It also gives you everything you need to survive, so there is no excuses.
It's longer than it has any right to be and the length is artificial do to backtracking and the "survival" is simply making it tedious to get resources. You don't even get few resources. The DLC never has you strategize, or solve a combat puzzle or have to come up with a clever solution. It boils down to use VATS or Use Melee and Memorize the holo transmitter locations. The final battle is also a disappointment. All you have to do is retreat back into the entrance when the turrets activate and pick them off one by one before going back to shooting Elijah.
No, you aren't the orbiter on what makes a game "good" or not
The term is arbiter. Orbiter is the small moon stuck in your gravitational pull.
And yes I am the arbiter because I can decide for myself if I find something good or not.

Wasn't it delayed cause of the next gen update or something? Either it was a excuse to get more time to polish or they just couldn't get it working

Oh this is perfect.

Hey guys; it doesn't even fucking open.

Vanilla on mo2. It won't start a new game HAHAHAHA.

I've had it stuck since i downloaded it. I have no other mods installed. And plenty of other people are reporting the same.

I WONDER WHY THEY KEPT DELAYING IT

And apparently the downgraded they provided takes 90 minutes and still doesn't work, so everyone is abandoning it for the one on nexus.

Its a shitshow and it literally just got released. Like damn. Even 76 would start a new game. This is a new record of incompetence

This might have been because of the influx of people trying to download it all at once, I'm using it right now and while it isn't going super fast, it is working.
I've got the thing downloaded but it literally won't start. I've been on making new game for an hour now

Annnddd now the sites down. Kek. This is gonna be a wonderful disaster.

So.

Sites down. Downgrader doesn't work. Apparently it causes memory leaks so its crashing every 5 seconds. Some people (me included) can't get the new game to start, and there's some people who crashes before the intro video even ends.

All of this in one hour of the release.

K.E.K.

"It's beginning to look a lot like fish-men
Everywhere I go;
From the minute I got to town
And started to look around
I thought these ill-bred people's gillslits showed
...
They speak with guttural croaks and to hear them provokes
A profound desire to flee
Their eyes never blink and quite frankly they stink
Like a carcass washed up from the sea"
Looks like Lovecraft is once again influencing the Fallout Fandom further. Fuck Bethesda.

Lol, I had a feeling that update excuse wasn't completely true. And considering the downgrade requirement lol, Just lol.

Now comes the hunt for the degenerate furry/shadman shit the modders hid in it.

So, who wants to take bets on when they will start throwing people under the bus for this, or when the inevitable pedo outing will begin? I bet the Sneedclave is sharpening their knives as we speak.
