who the fuck actually evacuates Zion or brings Cass to the Van Graffs?
I evacuated Zion only once for an achievement years ago. Cass, on the other hand, has only been a companion a handful of times. She's way too bitchy and the only companion that can leave you depending on your karma. Unless I have characters that drink alcohol, she's usually sold down the river for a nice 1000 caps plus all the equipment the trade deal raid gives you.

you can sell cass? i thought you could only sell arcade off?

https://youtube.com/watch?v=K54o2bX_fgk"Quest mod" reviews popping up in my recommended. Mods in question are old news, but it's pretty fun to watch reviewers, well, continue not having fun.
Holy shit, you can see the DNA of Frontier right there and then even at the beginning. No wonder that mod, especially the NCR questline, were such a shit show. War Trash is basically the NCR questline cut down, right down to having absolutely no player agency and the game pointing out that YOU ARE A MONSTER, COURIER 6!

one thing that has been lost in gaming is storytelling through gameplay. no, we dont need a fucking asshole talking into our brain like silverhand or a 20 min cutsene rendered in 16 K that takes 100 gigas. just cleaned quarry junction and i feel like fucking shit because there was a family of deathclaws there.

It's such a shame Obsidian didn't go the Broken Steel route with one of the New Vegas DLCs. One of my biggest disappointments with the game is not getting to actually see the Mojave change after the fight for Hoover Dam.

At least there's a mod for it, which I personally like to use since I dislike open world games that don't let you play after the ending. (Especially if the game doesn't tell you beforehand that this will be the case. But New Vegas at least sort've warns you.)

It was actually coming across that series that made me want to play New Vegas again funnily enough.
Truth be told I actually rather enjoy the series, you can tell the guy making it really did his research too with all the references to Van Buren, hell there were some I didn't even catch the first time watching. The series is chock full of atmosphere and I really hope it doesn't fumble the ball somehow down the line.

The lore as it is presented is also pretty interesting. Using Howard Hughes to represent Mr. House is also pretty genius for obvious reasons. Still not sure what to make of the series because of the weird mish-mash of gnostic religious shit mixed with the Van Buren and edgier New Vegas shit.
From what I can tell so far though the series implies this is some variant of New Vegas with a darker edgier storyline where Mr. House for whatever reason was unable to construct the Lucky 38 fully and enact his plans to protect Vegas from the nukes, basically leaving it a true wasteland akin to The Divide.

As a side note I'm convinced this channel has something to do with the storyline too because there are just too many similarities to drb0sch's stuff to ignore. Drb0sch himself even commented on one of the videos when someone floated the idea of this being an alt account of his and insisted it wasn't but that the video was interesting regardless. My theory is this is another player who also encountered weird shit in their copy of Vegas linked to whatever B0sch found. The main channel somewhat vaguely implies there are other people involved with the video about the strange lights that he claims wasn't uploaded by him, so.

Either way it's interesting to see someone doing this with the game. Though given the game editing tools it's probably not that difficult. If anything I'm surprised it took this long.

I don't like him. his Disco Elysium video was dogshit, he tried to do this wacky character and it reminded me of if some hollywood person tried to do a Nostalgia Critic parody. And in another video he got way too fucking person and talked about his mentally challenged son and about his own personal mental illness and it really felt like a Gen X person trying to do some Millennial "i got depression wah feel bad for me" thing and watching both of those videos in a row really disgusted me.
Yeah I share those critiques, he got really into his heart surgery and whenever he goes on about that shit you see people noticeable get disengaged when you check the comments and by the "replay" bar (the rising and falling bar that scales depending on how many people rewound to a specific part), when he doesn't do that I find him pretty enjoyable. Hm, guess that's why I initially stopped watching for a while.
No i finished it years ago at uni on a piece of shit Acer laptop. This is My first time with a modded to hell Game and good hardware run
Hell yeah, hope it's stable because man does it go all over the place if you haven't set it up right.

FPGE - Functional Post Game Ending is your friend, as well as the addons if you find yourself doing multiple playthoughs. Some of my favorites is the Elijah ending where you side with him and turn NV into what's essentially DUST but you're the bad guy, one where if you fail to defeat Ulysses before the Second Battle of Hoover Dam he'll nuke the faction you sided with (though you can access the nuked area, for example if you join Caesar's Legion he'll nuke Dry Wells and all quests for LR will fail. This mod allows you to get the House ending bonuses from the base mod but for the Independent ending. There's more but just check out the "Mods requiring this file" section in the requirements.

Lol what a tool, bet you their only played Fo4 before NV. "10 people found this review helpful" yeah I bet they all have a certain flag behind them like OP does. Their other review is tf2 and Fo4's workshop DLC. And guess what they're complaining about in the Vault-Tec DLC. "Muh human experiments. What's roleplaying? How dare you make a faction that's morally ambiguous!" Their account is long since dead it seems.

My issue with the statement that House couldn't develop his security system is that the Freeside sign exists. Based on the references to Van Buren, I'm assuming that this version of New Vegas is set after the Convict decided to allow Victor Prespor to wipe the slate clean. With the new plague found in the New Vegas ruins and the Daughters of Hecate invading via the sewers, Cesear's legion might've launched a campaign into the Strip. All of the Last Men (NCR, Legion, New Vegas citizens) are the antithesis of the Dante Courier (Übermensch). Now, the esoteric gnostic metacontext could reference Jack Cabot's belief from his father that an ancient city was under the Mojave. Perhaps the nuke allowed the hidden evil of the ancient civilization to infest the former Strip? It would make sense, considering how there are Lovecraftian dangers that make the player hide in fear in almost all of the videos within the ruins.

Actually the most comprehensive theory I've seen so far. I mean, it could be taking place in a version of New Vegas that takes place after Van Buren's original planned ending or something given from what I remember it was going to be fairly destructive.
Though I do also have to wonder what some of the other elements are like during some scenes where you can hear distant gunfire like some kind of war is going on that the player can't see. Though that could be this invasion of New Vegas that you speak of.

It would make sense, considering how there are Lovecraftian dangers that make the player hide in fear in almost all of the videos within the ruins.
Honestly, maybe you can relate but on one hand I really want to fucking see what it is he's constantly hiding from.
But on the other hand, I don't because I feel like whatever I personally imagine up is probably always going to be scarier than whatever the creator decides on. Though I could end up being completely wrong, but so far we have absolutely zero idea what the creatures are or even look like and I partially want it to stay that way.

ShoddyCast put out a tribute video to Jason Damron, the voice actor of the Fallout Storyteller who sadly passed away due to cancer a few days ago.

It's a eulogy-type video but also a compilation of all of his work on the channel for some reason.

always funny to see people have low -iq takes by calling Honest Hearts "White Saviourism" including the devs themsevles because they wanted to make Daniel asian, iirc

But Joshua and Daniel are both seemingly the last remaining Scions of New Canaan (i know they rebuild in one of the endings) who are much more fucked than either the Dead Horses or Sorrows, the former are a very competent tribe full of good warriors who are being instructed by an experienced commander and the others are naive in heart but hardy enough to hunt bears with their bear hands. I could be misremembering, but outside of Daniel comforting the sorrows using scripture, either of them dont quite take to proselytize to them in the icky white saviour ways
The stereotyping thing is fucking hilarious because no actual native tribe has probably ever acted like either of those two atleast in the americas (i know shitholes in Africa had Cargo cults and shit), and thats because the conditions for them acting that way are exclusively fictional. The Sorrows are literally decended from a bunch of kids that were safeguarded by a caring father figure and were lucky enough to be sheltered from the world, while the Dead Horses arent even that ignorant besides seeing some places as "taboo" and it makes sense to view those places as taboo because there are high chances alot of pre-war places can give you cancer in a microsecond

Remember when Shoddycast wasn't just a Game Theory Knockoff? I don't think anyone really does.
All it took was one nu-male soy faggot thinking they were hot shit, one. Shit on (usually cancelled) the best the channel had to offer, put his high pitched nu-male voice where he could, thought he was a talent and funny writer (lol no), thought he was highly intelligent and well researched (wrong on both accounts), procrastinated a lot (usually on Twitter) on Twitter, I even remember him borderline insulting people who were even slightly critical. There's a good video by SLB Productions of all people. Speaking of which, what happened to him? I remember his channel being deleted, the video I linked it a reupload and the channel is missing a lot of shit iirc. Ah, nevermind, found it. He was having money issues so he stopped making content, said some spicy shit on a stream while drunk that got the hook noses to Shut It Down (his demonetization at least), he panicked and nuked the channel and disappeared.

The Dead Horses aren't even really natives. They're a bit of Navajo with primarily white, including Continental European, influences otherwise. Dead Horse Point is an actual place and its the sort of place a bunch of Europeans would visit on a lark, and then wind up getting stuck at after the bombs hit. Thankfully that was in October so some of them might have had a chance when summer rolled around again. One of them even calls the Courier an "Owslander", or outsider, which is a very odd spelling of the German "Auslander" which means the same thing.
