But Joshua and Daniel are both seemingly the last remaining Scions of New Canaan (i know they rebuild in one of the endings) who are much more fucked than either the Dead Horses or Sorrows, the former are a very competent tribe full of good warriors who are being instructed by an experienced commander and the others are naive in heart but hardy enough to hunt bears with their bear hands. I could be misremembering, but outside of Daniel comforting the sorrows using scripture, either of them dont quite take to proselytize to them in the icky white saviour ways
The stereotyping thing is fucking hilarious because no actual native tribe has probably ever acted like either of those two atleast in the americas (i know shitholes in Africa had Cargo cults and shit), and thats because the conditions for them acting that way are exclusively fictional. The Sorrows are literally decended from a bunch of kids that were safeguarded by a caring father figure and were lucky enough to be sheltered from the world, while the Dead Horses arent even that ignorant besides seeing some places as "taboo" and it makes sense to view those places as taboo because there are high chances alot of pre-war places can give you cancer in a microsecond

Sad. Enjoyed the Storyteller quite a lot, at least when it focused on him actually telling stories and not that gay ass Vault Dweller fanfic. Dude had a great voice that fit the setting wonderfully.
 
Jason had a great voice and a fantastic OC that fit perfectly in the game's setting. I still listen to those lore videos from time to time, got to find if he did a lot of other things other than what we see on ShoddyCast.
Speaking of The Storyteller, he has a companion mod if you want him inside your game. Both Fallout New Vegas(and TTW) as well as Fallout 4 are covered:

My headcannon is that this dude is Joshua, the BOS guard from The Den in Fallout 2. Storyteller claims he met The Chosen One, and obviously he is part of The Brotherhood, it makes sense. I like to think that he didn't think anything of The Chosen One when he first saw them, but later when he heard what they did while he was busy being bored to death and standing guard outside their little bunker, he had a revelation that he made history by greeting The Chosen One at the start of their journey. Ever since then he became obsessed with seeking similar wasteland legends and chronicling their adventures for the future generations, not to mention learning the history of the wasteland and it's various tribes. The BOS back in The West were pretty much a skeleton of their older selves after they send expeditions all over America and lost their political power, especially after NCR took over the region. It makes sense he would rather journey cross country than staying in whatever shitty little outpost he would be stationed at and wait to get shot at by an NCR Ranger, so he became a scout/informant officially. Plenty of opportunities to travel as he pleased and meet all sorts of communities, this even plays a role in the Fallout 4 season where he comes from Mojave/D.C to give Maxson intel.
 
I find it hilarious how in Fallout 3 your character is supposed to be 19 when leaving Vault 101 yet during character creation you can still make an old man character anyway.

I guess I just have to RP that I have that disease that makes you age rapidly. :story:
 
Anyone else had the experience you played Fallout to death years and years ago and when the Netflix series came out girls tell you "Have you heard of the Fallout series? I hear it was a videogame beforehand"

Considering I had to deal with this kind of experience ever since 2008 with Fallout 3 going mainstream, I would say I have gotten used to it. Nu-Fallout fanbase, and now the TV show fake fanbase just mend together with all the other things I hate in gaming now.

You'd think that's just me being an absolute autist but I've had conversations go south just by a simple correction. So no, I haven't and that sounds exactly like one of my nightmares, normies...can't stand them.

I play 76 fairly regularly (I can't explain why but I do find the game fun) and am really glad I've never run into sinseer. That being said the number of C.A.M.P.s I've come across flying "pride" flags is truly insane.

Full admission. I only bought 76 because they let you join the Enclave.
And I joined the Enclave so I can slaughter all muties for the glory of AMERICA. :semperfidelis:

Fags and trannies count as muties yes. Especially trannies.

I've seen /fog/ posts where they post screenshots of LGBT CAMPS or players getting nuked, alongside "community creators" like Elinora. Some of the best parts of the thread, even F76 trannies that post there don't have a problem with it and one of the only features in that game I approve of.

To be fair 4 actually does have pretty damn solid gunplay overall so I understand completely.

That's probably a large part of it. I really wish they had kept some of the base building mechanics from 4 though. Only being able to place stairs in the center of floors is absolutely retarded. However, the free cam was a really nice addition that I hope they carry through to 5 if they have base building in that one..

I bought it exclusively for the M2 Browning. Rolling around the wasteland in T-51b with a Ma Duce has been something I've wanted since I played 3 back in 2008.

One of the first Fallout 3 mods added that gun in tho, since M2 Browning was also in Tactics and that mod added in all the classic weapons that were missing. If that's all you wanted, there was no need to pay money for F76(I bet mods for FNV and F4 for the gun also exist).

I wouldn't go as far as to call it "decent" but it was night and day when compared to Fallout 3...and that was only the case because it was worked on by iD guys, not Bethesda themselves. Even then, combat doesn't have DT or ammo types and other iterations that made NV combat still overall more interesting due to it actually being balanced and giving weapons different uses depending on situations.

In my defense I didn't get 3 on PC until after 76 had come out and I avoid weapon mods like the plague. Also I'm really not a fan of power armor in 3/NV; one of my favorite changes with 4 was PA being a frame that you add the armor onto (fusion cores are gay as hell).

Alt. Fallout 4 mod if you don't mind off-brand Brownings
If you know where to look, all those guns from F76 were also backported into F4 and sometimes onto New Vegas as well, so there is absolutely no point in playing F76 just because you like a certain gun.
