Best of Times (the other VNV guide) doesn't update since last year.
And still mentions the best last version which was 3.3.2a.
Man, is a real shame how TTW became a clusterfuck everybody hates. Maybe there's the last good version uploaded somewhere.
The worst thing is The Midnight Ride, which is their Fallout 4 mod list. It doesn't include "Start me up - redux" nor "Full Dialoge Interface". I don't see how you can call yourself a modder and not include either of these mods. These two mods are the most basic and essential mods for F4. It's like putting a modlist together and not including the script extender. When I see a modlist this bad, I have to assume they're a bunch of total and complete idiots, and everything they say is sus and not worth reading.

Midnight Ride had Full Dialogue Interface but removed later 'cus "not companion support" (which is partially true) and "incosistent between dialogues" (which is partially true too; mod doesn't show you what's the sarcastic option or the violent one).
Start Me Up - Redux is a alternative prologue mod, which i'm sure they don't like that type of mods. Can break a lot of scripts.

There is only two types of mods that Fallout 4 players care about: Porn mods and tactical Tarkov/COD mods to turn the game into a shittier version of STALKER. If you're trying to turn Fallout 4 into a role playing title, you're wasting your time. Closest we will ever see to that will be total overhaul projects like London or the upcoming Miami mod.

Does anyone have weird rituals they do when they play a fallout game? I must do this on every fallout new vegas playthrough:
  1. Sleep with Benny
  2. Sell the annoying science faggot into slavery
  3. Drink 12 Whiskeys with Cass
  4. Quicksave, kill Daniel for being annoying, hop back to previous save
  5. use a mini nuke on a chem addict

I don't have any I can think of, unless using exploits on the 360 versions of the game counts. You can get everything for the Megaton home for free by kneeling in a corner of the store and stealing everything from a floating container, something that is still possible in Starfield BTW since the merchant system hasn't changed a bit. Likewise, it is possible to bring back Anchorage simulation gear, including winterized armor that never breaks, winterized weapons that never break and possibly infinite amounts of ammo. New Vegas also lets you have as many companions as you want(making the game very unstable) and if you do this exploit, you are able to bring some of them into DLCs, that includes Dead Money(where you can bring over your equipment by giving it to companions). I used to do the gold exploit where you bring over all the gold bars, but I learned that you pretty much can buy almost everything in the game just with the gold bars you are normally allowed to bring back, as long as you turn them into Pre War money from the holo vendors that might potentially be worth more individually than the gold bar itself would be.

Speaking of Op. Anchorage, you can turn it into the second best Fo3 DLC with a handful of combat focused mods like BLEEDLESS (purely to get rid of the annoying bleed effect from normal BLEED) and B42 quickthrow made by resident egoist Xilandro. I look forward to playing it everytime I start a new TTW run partially because of the winterized T-51 and partially because of the gameplay, it's only topped by Point Lookout in terms of quality purely because of the incredible atmosphere. There's also this 'Anchorage Gameplay Enhancement' mod but I haven't tried it out personally. Anyways, what's your favorite Fallout 3 DLC?

Honestly, I speedrun thru it every time since I hate the second portion of the DLC. Specifically, when you have to blow up fuel tanks and fight some retarded tank boss in the process. I don't think I have to explain how stupid it is to destroy fuel when that's the whole reason why China invaded Alaska in the first place. What I always do is assault Listening Post and then use the out of bounds exploit to go up a pipe, straight thru the trenches and destroy the turrets guarding the Refinery where the final boss battle takes place. I feel bad for skipping such a large chunk of content, so when I destroy the turrets I drop down in the trenches to get some more fighting done before the final boss, at least.

Speaking of out of bounds glitches, New Vegas has quite a few, and you can use it to get access to Legate's Fort before the final battle. I had a playthru where I used it as a home base, you can easily store equipment there by the tents since there is no NPCs spawned in yet from what I remember(or there may have been and I killed them, only ones I remember were brahmin in a pen). You can fast travel there whenever you like once you discover the location. Funny thing, I discovered that sometimes Great Khans and Powder Gangers spawn in there, why? Lord only knows, I would like to know that myself.
 
I would like to think the new york-new jersey area isn't mentioned in fallout because the chinese nuked us so hard they put us out of our misery.
My autistic headcannon with those places, especially Jew York, is that it was completely wiped from the map but some of the subway areas and lower underground areas are still there, and small groups of people managed to survive. All these groups basically became their own little tribes that vary greatly. Some left the underground after the radiation died down, most stayed for whatever reason. There are some tribes that are basically savages that have barely survived.

Honestly I feel you could do a fair amount with this. Like one of the stronger tribes are still primitive but still have access to some laser weapons and power armor from an abandoned army depot that was left down there. But they only use them for emergencies and only the tribe's leader can use the power armor, which is rare.

Add to that most weapon mods (outside of ones porting previous Fallout weapons) consist of nothing but hyper modern guns ripped straight from Battlefield or COD. I remember Fallout New Vegas getting shit for adding in AR-15s, but at least they were based on 1960s designs (marksman carbine not withstanding). Most of the time users will hand-wave these mods by saying "well the Interplay Fallouts had modern weapons" not realizing that the G11, Pancor Jackhammer, and Neostead at least thematically fit with the art design of those games.

I will go one step further and add that the modern weapons that Tactics added fit perfectly within the game as well. Don't believe me? One of the first major weapon overhauls for Fallout 3 was the Classic Fallout Weapons mod that added almost all of them in and they are feeling spot on with the rest of the game. Same goes for the New Vegas iteration.
Also, there is plenty of mods being paywalled behind patreon nowdays, if not then you need to make a discord account or a GUN account or what have you. It's really gay, even Nexus now requires you to make an account to download anything. Thankfully, I already have almost everything I need for all my games, so I rarely even bother looking for new mods unless there is a big new release or I am looking for a patch. Making my own mods is more fun these days.

First mod I installed for New Vegas was Classic weapon pack, couldn't agree more.

Sounds about right for the average fallout 4 modder. SMU however makes sense since it's jank garbage and WILL break scripts basically everywhere in the process of decoupling the PC from all sorts of quests.
The alternatives (Alternate Start for alternative starts and SKK Fast Start for faster starts) aren't much better, though SKK i think is sliiiiightly more stable and tinkerable if you can live with being mistaken for a parent.
 
It was so fun. But damn was it jank at times. I remember EVE causing some weird ass bugs with the energy weapons, and yet I still used it for a long time.
The bug I got the most was ADSing resulting in the energy weapon's model covering 90% of the screen. Also remember some weapons having texture issues. Still one my favorite mods.

Never had a problem with it, neither in Fallout 3 or NV and I am told that it is an "outdated mod" on both counts regardless. This makes me think these people and what they consider "up to date" doesn't matter.
 
Debugging New Vegas whilst trying to mod it is a huge pain, I've got a pretty big modlist myself and every 20 minutes I experience these 2 minute-long lag spikes, and when I say random and lag spikes, I mean out of nowhere and going down to like 5 FPS, mouse lag included. I can chalk this up to the game compiling shaders, or loading assets, but when I open the Pip-Boy the game returns to a smooth 60 FPS. The thing is, there's one specific area on the world map that consistently lags for me (Goes down to 10-15 FPS) but when I open the Pip-Boy the FPS remains the same.
I've got plenty of technical know-how myself and I've debugged other games but New Vegas has no easy-to-access debug mode that you don't need dev tools to access, I guess that's just part and parcel of trying to run it on an engine made in 1997.
I've only installed that popular unofficial patch and a graphics mod for the roads and shit and now noone has hair. if i run falloutnv.exe from steam everyone has hair, with fnvse, no hair. it's maddening.
