I didnt know Fallout had a beach episode and yet here we are.

He sounds bored, which Im very sure wasnt the intention.
Preston always sounds like they just took his first take of the day. Nothing he says has any oomph.
Its odd to me too give that for the most part Fallout games knock it out of the park with voice acting, like sure its funny when you have the occasional NPC who couldn't be bothered to read his lines properly but to have that be nearly every line for one of the most important characters in the game? It just doesn't make sense. Maybe they just recorded his lines really late or something and had no time for redo's.

The best part is even his romance lines are in the same dull and unenthusiastic tone. The lines that are implied to be him being impressed by sex is just a deadpan that is worse than the terminator rip-off.

Honestly if you go out of your way to pursue the most deadpan companion in the game then you deserve his dialogue.

I'm still not over Bethesda turning supermutants into retards. It's so lazy.
If i remember correctly it depends on the strain of FEV and how pure of a human you are when you get dipped/exposed if you are an intelligent or retarded Mutant. That's why the Master as so interested in finding full vaults. Their untainted DNA made them prime subjects for dipping, were as the waste lander's changed DNA makes them almost always turn out as morons

It really is a window to a different time in both the franchise and youtube, isnt it?

If I recall correctly, these videos came out between F3 and NV or at least people leaned more on F3 videos instead of NV.

Why the fuck are there radroaches on the West coast now? Because we see them in the TV show and they never appeared.
Radroaches appear in several spots in New Vegas. I believe there’s actually one just outside of Novac that fights a Gecko as a pre-determined little encounter. They also appear throughout Dead Money in little nooks and crannies and in buildings the fog and Ghost People have not worn down and broken into yet. There’s one particular spot where about 3 or 4 of them ambush you on one of Domino’s supply caches in a back alley. Very cinematic, very actionable.

That's just categorically untrue. I spend every Lonesome Road telling Ulysses (in the nicest way) that he's retarded if he thinks I'm responsible for Hopeville.
I tell him with an anti-materiel rifle.

But then again-er, the amazon series made it clear that the lore is bendable as a wet noodle with absolute total Bethesda blessing so absolutely anything could happen.
I hate the show for this a lot. I think they might backtrack on calling it canon in the future.

But thats New Vegas, Im talking about the general California area that we saw in F1 and 2.

You can argue semantics and say that they simply spread over to that area or that they always existed and simply never made a major appearance in that particular area...

But fuck it, the point of my argument is the Bethesda-fication of the Interplay lore, including its locations having new creatures that have never been there, like Gulpers. Meanwhile Geekos are nowhere to be seen. We all know the answer out of verse because there is no in universe explanation beyond "they just are" or "who cares"

Bethesda always had an iffy relationship with canon consistency, even with their original franchise The Elder Scrolls. Its easily one of the most frustrating things about being a Bethesda fan because you cant get too attached to a version of events because Bethesda will easily retcon it if they deem it necessary for their current plot to work, if it makes sense or not is rather optional.

Every new Fallout game of theirs retcons something or contradicts lore established either by Interplay, Obsidian or fuck, even themselves ( I already ranted here how you needing to shoot ghouls in the head to kill them contradicts one of the best F3 missions right down to its very title). Shockingly I think that comes close to not doing this is F3, sure, you can say that some of its original lore is flawed but at least none of it seems to actively contradict the previous entries (tho Im sure you can find something, I just cant recall one right now) and it seems Bethesda decided that "its a series with green large atomic men and radioactive zombies, who cares for internal consistency" and decided to do whatever they wanted, tho dont worry, Emil gives "a lot of damns" about the lore (mf cant even resist throwing a tweet retcon in the form of Nate The Rake, which he was so unironically shocked that people turned it into a mocking meme that he "unretcon" it).

What Im saying is that as long Howard and Emil is around, live in the comfort that your fanfictions (probably written better) are as canon as the canon itself.

Exactly. I don’t expect them to officially announce the show to be non-canon, I’d expect them to more just steamroll over it with new “canon” events.

If anything, if somebody brings up the Master and how he'd have insta-steamrolled the TV Show vaults for Prime Normals (and proceeded to win effortlessly thanks to having hundreds of intelligent prime mutants) then they at this point are unironically more likely to say that Fallout 1 and 2 aren't canon, or how the events in those games aren't accurate.

Whats everyones thoughts on Yes Man here?
Josh Sawyer said that Yes Man is completely loyal to the Courier unlike Benny. And will not follow anyone else even after the Courier dies unless the Courier wills New Vegas to them. One of the slide endings is about Yes Man bonding with the Courier and becoming 'more assertive'. But a lot of people interpreted that as meaning that Yes Man was becoming like the Hal 9000 but Sawyer said that that was not the case.

Ah, that isn't in the ending slide. Is a piece of dialogue before the ending slideshow.
And true, a lot of people. Not me thought; i always thought Yes Man gonna be only loyal to the Courier in all operations. Not someone else trying to masquerade as the Courier.
