I'm still not completely black pilled on this franchise. Maybe it'll be good, who knows
You must be really new or you must be a pure soul. I'm not going to be nice and just call you an idiot cause we are going to get Starfield 2 with the "lore" of the TV show and maybe a few mechanics from 76 if we're lucky. There is no hope for anything better, Bethesda has no talent left to make something better even if they wanted to. Only future of this franchise lies with fans and their creations, not Bethesda and if you're smart that's what you're going to stick with, not wait for Fallout 5 that will come in 10 years or so.
People thought that was retarded?
The fact you cant say the word retreat or else he fights you is why you need to be detailed with the why its a bad idea instead of just going "retreat and save your nation"
You supposedly know a lot about Fallout 3, you should know that you have to explain even the most basic ideas to Fallout 3 defenders and even then they will probably not get it, hence 6 hour videos that amount to "Fallout 3 is bad". Good luck trying to explain actual good game design in New Vegas to these same kind of people if one conversation chain at the end of the game leaves them speechless.
I liked Creetosis' video. It's funny to see how little the showrunners (Nolan and the troon) care about Fallout.
The T-rex facing the wrong direction, how could they let something like this happen?
They literally used AI to design art for the first season, did people already forgot?
fallout tv show ai theory.webp
You will have people writing an entire undergrad thesis on what the show is going to be about when the truth is they probably just asked ChatGPT to write them something, edited it to slightly relate to New Vegas and their current lore from season 1 and called it a day.

I was going to say something about Fallout: The Frontier, but honestly, you're probably right. Fallout London was pretty good, and Fallout Miami will hopefully be cool if it ever releases. I'm still hoping Fallout 5 is at least okay. I'll give up all hope if they try to tie it into the god awful TV show

Fallout Frontier is an exception, it is a Fallout New Vegas mod made by Fallout 3 fans(self admitted, many didn't even finish New Vegas itself once let alone play older games). The signs were there but nobody wanted to be the one to break the news or waste all the effort already put into it, well until TK-Mantis came out and talked about it anyways.

Many good Fallout fan projects out there, Nevada alone is better than anything Bethesda will ever release at this point. I suggest you try older games like 1/2/Tactics and play some of the fan projects as well, New Vegas and 4 probably has some good upcoming mods as well, but nothing coming from Bethesda itself.

Note how no one said it was only fallout 3 fans who thought that was retarded and you are the one with fallout 3 fanboys living rent free

Only people having trouble understanding how a Fallout game works is a tourist(doesn't play the games) or Bethesda fanboys(Fallout 3 or Fallout 4, neither of which has good mechanics or writing so it's warranted why they're confused). Anyone who played a decent RPG in their lives shouldn't have this info spoonfed to them by a youtuber from a 6 hour video, they just know how dialogue in RPGs works.

Currently watching Creetosis' video. 53 minutes in and damn, Cooper really does have Rey energy, huh?

One nitpick criticism I do have about his video is that he complains about Lucy and Cooper hiding behind a rusted car on the Strip and how this rusty car messes up the Strip's atmosphere. However, Creetosis proceeds to ignore that in the game proper, there is an overturned semi trailer in roughly the same location that also is rusty and abandoned. Heck, he even shows a screenshot of said location with the overturned trailer in eyeshot.

Edit: Man, he goes turbo autist about that car in the final two minutes. Cree straight up says that New Vegas isn't canon because the rusty car means House didn't clean the strip up in the lore. Cree tries to justify the overturned truck in game by saying it's been moved to the sidewalk but... it's at the front entrance! Tourists and gamblers are going to see it the second they step into the Strip. Both the car and truck make the Strip look ugly yet for some reason the truck is fine?

or they are a legion fanboy who thinks Lanius would never agree to fall back even if he was told detailed and uninsulting reasons why which was my first thought as to people who thought it was retarded not 3/4 fans.

I have literally never met anyone like that. I have heard debates on if Courier or Legate would win in a fight, but I don't generally see anyone other than tourists or confused Bethesda fans asking why Legate would retreat if you talk to him, since they're not used to final bosses in games being talked down to. Compare the Legate dialogue to Colonel Autumn or the abomination that is the Eden dialogue chain, night and day difference.

I have because i have encountered legion fanboys who hate the idea that this ultra badass killer who doesn't think twice about getting into a fight or causalities
would ever understand logic and reason if when said logic and reason are based around getting him to understand the situation without pissing him off.

The eden dialogue chain is like if the master suicide dialogue path in fallout 1 was designed to be done on borderline accident

Well, both have a plot item which can be used in your favor (FO1 is a Brotherhood's holotape which says about super mutants being sterile, and FO3 is just a self-destruct code).
Nah. Is much worse.

Are you really going to compare Master's philosophical dilemma which only ends once you convince him he's wrong to Eden's "You are dumb, kill yourself" tier dialogue chain quite literally almost every character in Fallout 3 can succeed in one way or another?
lol, lmao even, I guess I was right that you wouldn't offer anything interesting or useful if I actually discussed anything seriously with you.
Let me guess, when your character told Three Dog he was fighting the "Good Fight" with his voice when you were 12, your mind was completely blown wasn't it?

Reminds me of this meme, except you're actually serious

Are you actually this stupid? Do you honestly not understand what point im trying to make or are you so dense that you think bringing up the master suicide chain to make fun of and call the fallout 3 eden suicide chain shit as anything but me making fun of the eden suicide dialogue? I said it was designed to be done "on borderline accident" and you think that's praise?

Ok yeah you are that stupid

No i thought three dog was a cool character and then when i got older and interacted with other fallout fans i realized that hes kinda shit as a radio host because of how biased he is and how annoying GNR would be if three dogs news updates were all about the lone wanderer. New vegas does it much better with the courier only being referenced a handful of times (and only once directly with the news of the courier surviving his headshot)

I have not met anyone smart who complemented the writing of President Eden, no. And yes, this was a complement, as if "accidentally killing the main villain" was supposed to be something super duper special no RPG has ever done, like say, Fallout Tactics with the Calculator. No, the dialogue was just straight up bad, as in one of the worst dialogue chains in history of the franchise, and if you're comparing HIM to Legate or Master then you are definitely a tourist. Also, it is done "accidentally" because the game is poorly designed and the devs had no clue how to properly design that encounter, let alone how to write for it. Actually, Raven Rock is a mess for many reasons, probably re-written late in development like a lot of locations, but like you would know anything about that.

Boy this is a blast from the past, I haven't heard anyone defending writing in Fallout 3 in any way shape or form unironically in years. Closest thing would be the underage edgelords on /v/ who don't actually care about it and just want to trigger people with contrarian opinions.

campbell was criticizing the writing of Eden as being slapdash and poorly thought out, noting that its the "i win" option without any of the craft that went into making the master's self destruct option in 1.
like thats abjectly not praise or defense of 3's awful writing.

I agree with a lot of your points but you're so rabid in sniffing out bethesdachuds it almost seems like youre willfully misunderstanding things and then when this is brought up you ramble about IQ
I know, I'm being an asshole. I have met people who actually thought the Eden encounter was just as good as The Master and used that as a legit point towards proving that "Fallout 3 writing is good", actually that might have been one of MATI's points if I am not mistaken.

Either way, anyone who is getting worked up over Legate's dialogue chain is suffering from low IQ or never played any real RPGs, that part is true. This is not something new, RPGs did these "talk the boss out of fighting" encounters all the time so you could think of it as a standard, not a standout moment. I really hope I don't have to go into the actual dialogue, because that's some 2+2 equals 4 shit, in fact the Courier has to spell out what he means to the Legate since he's obviously not the brightest cookie in the jar AND he has to walk on eggshells not to show weakness or piss him off, that's how a conversation with a war lord that is thirsty for battle would actually work in real life, anyone who has seen terrorist negotiation being done knows that's how it works IRL too. Also, people forget that you need 100 Speech for that, which canonically means that your character can talk a bee into buying honey, unlike the 50 or so Science you need to tell a self aware AI to kill itself in Fallout 3 and it somehow listens. That's barely good enough to be able to hack half the terminals in the game, a good RPG would set that to at least 75 if not make it require a special perk or make the self destruct tape mandatory like Fallout 1 did with The Master. So you can add "people" still having trouble understanding that sequence also having a fundamental misunderstanding of how stats in an RPG work too, cause if your character didn't max out Speech they ain't talking Lanius down, not every character is build to beat the game this way.

i deleted the above quoted post because campbell is a troonworshipping faggot btw

Bethesda fans love troons? Gee, I NEVER would have thought of that! I thought New Vegas fans were supposed to be the real trannies!
