I’m looking forward to the utter meltdown from New Vegas fans when season 2 drops. Hell, I might end up being one of them melting down.
At what point do NV fans just stop worrying about everything made post New Vegas? The franchise as it was is completely different to now, you may as well just consider nu-Fallout non-canon. Hell, with poojeet Maxson and the dismissive nature of stuff established in Fallout 3, it may as well be a totally non-canon spinoff property. It isn't like Bethesda, 20 years from now, won't shit all over the new lore anyway.

Obsidian is not making a new Fallout ever again (nor should anyone want them to) and there is enough modded material to play that if you must have new Fallout you are better off just disregarding any new official products.

My only worry with regard to season 2 is that, while I don't consider anything put out by the show to be canon or override the games, just like season 1 gave those unfamiliar with the games a false impression as to the tone of the series, it'll give people a false impression of New Vegas and Mr House. There will be people out there who call themselves fans of Fallout but are talking about the tv show.

Off the top of my head I can't really think of another comparison. I suppose Star Wars? Like how Disney's Thrawn is more of a retard than book Thrawn, but I don't know enough about that character or series to get into it. I suppose if you were a huge fan of the NCR and Brotherhood of Steel, season 1 obliterating the former out of existence and making the latter into retards will evoke the same feeling. If the show becomes the first impression of Fallout to a lot of people, it may deter someone from getting into a genuinely good if spotty series because they think they're getting Borderlands.

are those supposed to be caseless rounds? then they wouldn't have to animate the case being ejecting.
They are now I think, they just did that for a bunch of guns with the excuse of "aesthetics" and "futuristic anti-waste" or some shit but we all know it was because they didn't want to animate bullets being ejected again.

I've long since just learned to laugh at it, no point in taking it seriously when you have no weight in how it ends up.

This x100.

I really haven’t cared about Fallout since New Vegas. I don’t need to worry about lore being butchered or bastardisation future shitty TV shows.

I’ve got a solid, stable modded copy of FNV; protected against random Todd updates thanks to i) GOG version with updates prohibited, and ii) MO2 mod organizer booting the game via iii) NVSE.

I can, for the rest of my days, play this game which I consider a one-stop shop for all my Fallout needs. I could visit Zion and maybe one day be brave enough to offend Joshua; finally find the full dead man’s hand in the Sierra Madre; actually side with Caesar one playthrough; and maybe, just fucking maybe, have the nerve to tell Corporal Betsy ‘how about a date, I like tough women’.

The game is big enough and so well-written that even after playing it so long, there is still a shit-ton I have never tried or done. I’ve never once tackled Camp Searchlight, never done anything other than kill Benny, never really progressed Raul’s quest. And never mind the great location mods and content changes to the wasteland (FPGE, Living Desert, cut content restoration etc etc).

And when the day finally comes when I’m sick of the game - finally - I’ll pick up a new game and play something else. I’m at peace that no-one on this planet will make another canon Fallout game of any value. And that’s fine. I’ve got everything I need in this here one package, greatly enhanced by QoL mods.

I enjoyed Fallout 3 but left my heart in New Vegas. Do your worst to the franchise Todd, you can’t fucking spoil what I have all safely set up with FNV.

The timeline of the TV is a fucking mess. There's the Shady Sands stuff that's been critiqued to death but also in Season 1 the NCR has been so throughly eradicated that people don't even recognize their flag anymore but also the Legion is still around?

I know normies don't care about plotholes but still.

Literally everyone in the Fallout Fandom considers something non-canon at some point. Even Fallout 2.
Tactics is when it all went to shit. Basically every sin that Bethesda does, started with Tactics. Brotherhood not on the west coast? Check. Overuse of AI as an antagonist? Check. Memberberries everwhere? Check. Using un-fallout-y looking guns? Check.

I'll just say what everybody's thinking. Fallout was never good. None of the games are canon.

Locking him in the vault would've been a fitting option. While killing him seems reserved mostly to bad karma runs, simply letting him go just also doesn't seem like the right thing to do.
I definitely think being trapped in the villa since 77 is enough punishment, that's gotta be the equivalent of a few life sentences.
Domino I always felt after Vera's room felt like he just let go as his tone if your helpful seemed deep down he cared for. Even petty small men can have soft sides.
Domino definitely regrets what he did now but then that raises the question of if he deserves a second chance considering if the bombs never fell he would have continued to abuse her or find someone else.
Dead Money robbing you of even basic holdout weapons has always been Confirmed Bachelor and 3 INT Score.
Its called keeping rawrs claw up my ass and crafting it in the villa.

Please dont become the type who act like they cant enjoy new vegas anymore because "they know whats gonna happen"

I still enjoy 4 and 76 but i also dont take anything they do lore wise that seriously.
If it's something i like it's something i like but that's it.

This is a wasteland thread now

I don't know if it's been brought up, but I'm looking forward to the long 15 mod by Toxic Whiteout and his team for New Vegas.

I can't recommend Dry Wells enough either, It's got as much choice as the main game.

Edit: Also most normies consume slop then quickly forget about it. The only way to know if something is truly good for sure is if it has staying power and/or a cult following 3-6 months after launch. The first season of the fallout show came out and it seemed like it never released 1-2 months after the fact out for me because I ignored the hype and did my own thing.

I've been doing this for 5+ years now with few expectations to the rules and I'm more happy as well as less blackpilled these days.

Found a neat channel that seems to have taken inspiration from the Storyteller but in a more "diary" sort of way rather than a codex. His story takes place after the Battle for Hoover Dam and with New Vegas being independent. So far it's not bad, pretty basic but in a good way.

Oh shit, forgot about this mod. This was made by the same people who made Dry Wells, right? I'm definitely looking forward to trying this mod.

Yeah, same lead guy and friends who made dry well. I just saw that it comes out on Dec 12 which sucks, but have plenty of time to get my modlist to together at least.

Hello, it is time once again for me to gloat over the subhumans who actually update their games
Of note, this is a sequel of sorts to the Next Gen "Update" video since Bethesda screwed up similarly a year ago(now they fucked up the game even more)

I am just going to say it, this is Fallout for retards. Very simple mods even I could make(provided I cared enough to make the custom gun/armor assets), extremely overpowered gear given to you early on that breaks the game, no explanation of the story, lore ect. of the character or item you have aside from some shitty note that is conveniently nearby on a corpse or near a container, and of course there is lobotomy markers everywhere to guide the morons every step of the way thru. I've made a dozen little mods that were more balanced than this over the last few days, hell I linked one of them here and I sure as hell ain't getting paid for this. And that is if the mods in question work BTW, it looks like the recent update broke even that for many of them, seeing a "LOOKUP FAILED!" error outside loading screens is absolutely hilarious(I sure as heck haven't seen it in my 10 years of playing this game and this is what Bethesda themselves released). Boy am I glad I never decided to update my Fallout 4 past a certain point, 10 years of modding my game on my own terms worked out rather well and since I never bothered updating, I might genuinely have one of the most stable builds of Fallout 4 in the world(still plays nice with about 90% of the mods on Nexus too btw)

I remember joking on NMA about the future of Fallout if games like POS ever got popular, but this is much worse than any hyperbole I could ever come up with, Thankfully, only new players coming into Fallout 4 now are those braindead unwanted TV Show tourists and frankly, this is the experience these low IQ morons deserve. Thank fuck Fallout New Vegas and 3 came out before live service updates for console games were common, so they are relatively unmolested for now(that is until a third world AI made "remasters" of these two come out like we saw with Oblivion). Looking forward to all the TV Show tards getting filtered by New Vegas for being "hard"(balanced) to prepare for Season 2 and then fleeing to their baby Bethesda games like F4 and F76, at least that might prove entertaining.
