  • so house ending is cannon since he is still alive (unless they pull some bullshit like "it's not actually House behind his v tuber avatar")
  • for some reason legion is still there even though they should've been driven out of the Mohave
  • kings are still there even if they are ghouls (which btw how the fuck did they got gouhlified, theres hardly any radiation in Vegas)
  • brotherhood of steel still there, stronger than ever which makes 0 sense
  • and who the fuck knows what they did to NCR
i cant wait to see this train smash into the wall
I think they chose the House ending to draw parallels between old world values being enforced at gunpoint on the strip isn't so different from life in the more "ideal" vaults like 33, making the sins of Vault-Tec sink in for Lucy. As for the Legion, I suspect they're scattered remnants trying to claw back power and territory from the battered NCR. I don't really know what they're going for with the Kings, but it's been a decade and ghoulifiaction hasn't made any sense since FO3 made it instantaneous so oh well. The West Coast and East Coast BOS made contact, so I imagine that's helped restore the West Coast BOS. I don't know wtf is happening with the NCR, though. I hope it gets explained or at least hinted at, since I do enjoy trying to make sense of nonsensical lore bullshit.

Also something I saw somebody talk about online is that the Minutemen flag shows up at some point, meaning the canon FO4 ending is most likely the Minutemen/BOS alliance ending, which could further explain why the BOS is so well equipped now

Now if only Nova Arizona was finished and wasn't a pain in the ass to install, but It is nearing completion.
What are the chances this won't be another reddit-made project full of degeneracy, faggots and trannies?

After the Frontier my faith in big modding projects has cratered into the asthenosphere.

What is it with AAA companies and squandering billion dollar IP's? Holy fuck Bethesda is out of touch and their heads are so far up their own asses it defies the laws of physics.

Fallout 76 will never be as big as a singleplayer Fallout game and you can only milk the whales for so long. All those new locations and the new content are being squandered on such a small, niche spinoff. And of course they learned nothing from the last big Fallout 4 "update". RIP everyone's modlist I guess.

But hey, if you wanna cope, cope in style with the New Vegas anniversary edition! That'll be $150 straight to Todd's bank account, please. Just let Bethesda crash and burn already so some other company can buy their IP's in a firesale.
Honestly, I'd argue the bigger waste of time and money is Starfield. I understand it was a passion project for the devs and that it has some cool lore stuff, but I don't think anyone really wanted a third mechanically identical lore heavy franchise from Bethesda. People who like that kind of game are already invested in Fallout and TES (and probably a dozen other lore heavy franchises like Star Wars, ASOIAF, Elden Ring, etc.).

Also while I'm definitely interested in Fallout 76, I can't justify the time and money needed to enjoy a MMO, so I'm just waiting for it to eventually die because the one thing I can give Bethesda is that they're pro consumer enough that they'd probably release an offline patch and maybe mod tools.

I think maybe Thaddeus is turning into a centaur or something.

The real answer here is none of the endings are cannon, and bethesda is just writing fanfiction to make their consooomerslop "show" work.

It seems to be nearly completed and it started development in April 2024. The Frontier had a shit ton of feature creep and started development in May 2014.

I played the then latest version way earlier this year and what I saw wasn't half bad. From interviews, the NV devs originally wanted to have more legion content which showed how peaceful their territories ran despite them living under a dictatorship and this is what the mod team is setting out to do.

one quest had you investigate children spreading rumors about the legion's decline.

another was the player being interviewed by a news reporter at a local bar/slave trade about what Caesar and the legion are like.

one had you go looking for a missing caravan but it bugged out on me.

My biggest gripes with it is how shitty it ran and the methods used to install it. My FPS was 10-20 lower than usual, but I did have a fuck ton of mods installed as well as companions. In order to install it properly, you have to generate terrain and ground textures using a tool another modder made. One of the components for the generative tool is on a fucking discord server, not Nexus.

No faggot shit in sight aside from discord which can't die fast enough.

Call me intrigued.

How is the writing, do the quests demonize the Legion or are they given a fair shake and a chance to show the kind of society the Legion is attempting to build?

There are women who wear traditional clothes in the stores in one of the first town hubs I guess to show off how patriarchal they are.

The news reporter's writing was ok, he mostly asks the player questions after the first Caesar meeting. When you first meet him, he praises the legion a little bit, but he also is clearly afraid of them a bit because he's in their lands and doesn't want to offend them.

It was mostly a sandbox back in early 2025 and a lot of NPCs didn't have dialogue, but it did seem pretty faithful all problems aside. They seem to have a vision and a time schedule which makes me sure this won't be shit. I haven't seen any notable freaks on the dev team. If they are there, they're doing a good job of keeping their faggot shit to themselves.

I think they saw GTA online and thought they could catch the lightning in a bottle

Every company was wanting to get on the "live service" model at that time, because of the potential for continuous revenue (it's like the "new edition of Skyrim" model but instead of $60 per player every few years, it's $5+ in microtransactions per player every few days).

OWB stressed me out way more my first time playing than Dead Money ever did. Big MT was so freaky. Sure, ghosts can be creepy, but lobotomites, trauma override harnesses, angry robots, and tons of nightstalkers and cyberdogs were way scarier. Plus I was all alone!

You can have a companion in OWB and when she dies, you can just respawn her (maximum of 3 spawns per day, so go take a nap if the last one dies). Unfortunately, she can't follow you outside of her lab building, so she can only help with the quests there.

None of this is a problem, though, if you have a riot shotgun, the Shotgun Surgeon and (especially) And Stay Back perks, about a thousand pulse slugs (you won't need nearly that many, but they aren't sold at the Sink so it's better to have way too many than too few), at least a couple hundred standard shells (for cazadors, nightstalkers, and trauma override harnesses), and power armor before starting the DLC. (I also suggest taking the Long Haul perk so you can overencumber yourself with half a ton of gear, waddle out of your house, and then be able to fast travel to the crashed satellite at the drive-in.)

Gun Runner's arsenal might be my favorite DLC. I love when games just add in a bunch of shit, new ammo types, weapons. But if this came out today, they'd have gone full Payday 2 and had way too many GRAs. Has Bozar ever been good
If FNV came out today, it would be buddy, unoptimised, $100 dollar EU5 slop that requires you to be online to play it and writien by Emil Pagliarulo.

So, I did more research on that new horrid update. Aside from jumping into the septic tank that are official paid creation mods, like the $8 perk overhaul that is literally just an inferior version of something you can find on Nexus right now, or the sloppy tacticool weapon and armor mods that are also just inferior paid version of one of the many dozens of mods you can find on Nexus right now, I found out that the mod launcher for creations doesn't even work properly. They didn't just break the game, they broke how those paid mods are installed. Oh, and of course these shitty mods are baked into the game, so there is no "official" way to delete them(you can always go into the data folder and manually delete them, but that's beyond your average TV show tourist that is just now buying the game for the first time). If Bethesda breaks the game every single year, they might kill off what little remains of the modding community just like they did with Starfield, not like there is much left to lose anyways.

Oh, and the kicker in all this? They started to remove radio songs, like Rockstar has with every new re-release of Grand Theft Auto. Supposedly "The Wanderer" is now removed, you know, that song that was used in the promotional material for the game. I would say this is all unacceptable behavior from any developer and publisher, let alone a AAA one like Bethesda and Microsoft, but I am lowkey enjoying the humiliation ritual that update niggers have to go thru. Should have just learned not to blindly trust and actively disable random updates, you never know what they are going to break or remove!

Oh, and Fallout 76 now has a Fallout TV show centered update, they brought the awful marty stu "The Ghoul" character in there for some reason. Well, we all know why, but I think this might be even more stupid and cringy than that New Vegas memberberries ranger mod for Fallout 4, at least that one referenced a good piece of media. It's becoming clear that the TV Show "fanbase" are now the main priority for Bethesda and Microsoft and every single new game and update will be made to appease them first and foremost, Fallout 5 is probably going to directly tie into it as well. Thank god that New Vegas and TTW are too hard to get running by the mouthbreathers Todd is trying to appease to, so that game is probably safe until they demake it into UE5(assuming that's even possible, with how janky and temperamental it is even on Gamebryo).

@Chapalapachapa
If you wanted to be witty, you could say Avowed instead, since that game has no redeemable qualities and no fans. As is, Outer Worlds is still better than Fallout 76 and even Fallout 4 in some aspects. Then again, I wouldn't expect someone who didn't play those games to know that. Either way, it's pointless to even debate this since modern day Obsidian wouldn't make a New Vegas, it would be cancelled. It took them years and a ton of outsourced labor to push something as small scaled and short as OW out the door when a small(by today's AAA standards) team made a much bigger and more ambitious game in an outdated engine in less than a year with New Vegas 15 years ago, it was a miracle it released at all and that was back when there was talent in that studio.
