Fallout series

I know the Frontier doesn't even pretend to be lore friendly but it took me out of the experience that almost every single armor model was ripped directly from old COD, Battlefield, and Stalker games.

The niggerdevs didn't even fucking try.
Oh no, they insisted that the mod was "lore friendly"

They would get a lot less shit if they just made it out to be some insane power fantasy that didn't care about lore one way or another, but then again with how much of a mess this mod was, it really appealed to nobody by the devs themselves. Shame, it had potential, and I read on /fog/ that someone has access to a leaked early build that actually has better writing and RPG minded quest design. Can't confirm, maybe they made it up as nothing about the leaked build was ever posted there.

Note that all of the NCR content was done by the lead dev who held the mod hostage by being the only one who really knew how gamebryo worked, all that model ripping is his fault.
I don't get it, why would he? I am pretty sure he spends the entire game in Crimson Caravans once he is rescued, even if you complete the DLC.
Idk ever since i first played new vegas i always assumed him mentioning he was gonna go towards new canan was supposed to imply he gets killed by white legs or something. Him staying at CC i thought was just an oversight since HH was a bit of a mess development wise.

No, that was just to hint the DLCs. There is a bunch of graffiti in some parts of the map, as well as namedrops, so you can notice it if you're looking for it. Obsidian had, infamously, hard time mixing the base game and DLC content together due to how ESPs and ESMs work(not a problem for PC players but a big one for console players, especially in 7th gen). This meant that no base game leveled list, map or NPC was able to co-exist with DLC content, every single one that wasn't GRA had to take place in a brand new worldspace and not effect the main game at all. Even something as simple as adding a Police Pistol to the Cowboy or Professional leveled list isn't possible, so it isn't effected by these perks. There is no way adding a base game NPC to a DLC would work, they didn't even have enough memory for something like this since they were so inefficient with it when making the game. They couldn't even get the world to react to nukes being dropped in Lonesome Road, they had to create separate dungeons where DLC content exists and the soldiers in either camp are none the wiser, even tho there was just a nuclear explosion mere miles from their location, this is the most they could do thanks to the consoles. GRA only works because there is no other worldspace or set of NPCs to interfere, it's just new guns being added into existing leveled lists and new challenges added, very simple to produce and doesn't really interfere with anything else unless another mod changes that leveled list(which stand alone DLCs set in new worlds do not).

Ok im glad to know Ringo might have been saved from horrible tribal death after all i did to save him from powder gangers.
Isn't the ESP/M stuff also why the automatic rifle in DM is still shit?
Also on the topic of dlc order I've been doing LR first the last few runs just because its really the only way to get the spade duster due to rep requirements, LR-DM-OWB-HH

You know, I always wondered why they "integrated" all the GRA stuff in such an ass-backward way when mod creators could figure it out. There's no excuse, though, for having GRA and non-GRA versions of the same weapon with identical mods that are not compatible with each other. It's like they were trying to piss people off.

Also even after all these years I can't not read, for example, "Assault Rifle (GRA)" as "Assault Rifle! Graaah!"

My favorite is the Baseball Bat(GRA). Why can't I just drive a few nails thru any other bat in the game? Because only the Gun Runners know how to do it properly, forget that their specialization is in firearms and not melee weapons!
Yeah, it's ass backwards but there was no better system to really deal with it. Most of New Vegas' shortcomings can be attributed to Gamebryo, the consoles or the lack of development time, consoles were the biggest problems and the reason why the official DLC is a mess that it was.

Good to see Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 fans coming together and having a little bit of fun instead of fighting one another. Funny how I don't see any 76 fans there, Todd must be crying that nobody came dressed as the fan favorites "Radioactive Skyrim Dragon Boss" or "Generic Raider with Awful, Unfunny Dialogue", or how could we forget "Literally Who That We Only Hear From Some Random Audio Log"?
There actually were quite a few 76 fans. There were multiple entries in the cosplay contest, with one of those Mr. Fuzzy mascot things winning one of the prizes. There was a lot of Mothman merch. I saw some of those clown/jester head people too. Whenever I had no clue what something was, it always turned out to be a 76 thing. Thankfully, and rightfully, NV seemed to be the most represented overall. There was a lot of love for 1 and 2 as well, which was awesome to see.

I think my favorite is that the three mods for the Katana (GRA) form a complete sword by themselves but in a bizarre Ship of Theseus paradox you need a base to attach them to.

Every time I come back to this game as a Guns character I've always forgotten what a good gun the Hunting Shotgun is, and am pleasantly surprised all over again. It's not flashy like the Anti-Materiel Rifle or Li'l Devil, but by God is it reliable. Just enough range to be useful at medium distances (with the choke mod) but absolutely devastating when sweeping buildings and urban area like the exterior of Vault 3. It also sounds awesome, like BLAM!

Fully modded Holorifle with optimized Microfusion cells.

Legion death squads don’t even get within 75ft.

Glory to Elijah.

Favorite guns? Cant go wrong with All-American and Survivalist Rifle. Good at close/mid range, decent damage, decent fire rate and plenty of ammo. As @Friendly Primarina said, hunting shotgun is GOATED. get the perk that makes enemies fall down when getting shot. Any Deathclew trying to get close will fall on its ass before they can reach you.

As for energy weapons, i always liked Tri-Beam Laser. stack that with any crit bonus you can find and fire at close range, most things will turn to ash in a second.

You guys are alright with that.
I restarted the playthrought to get animal friend and is very fine to not farm xp when exploring.
Coyotes faces are cute.

FNV, I tend towards energy weapons myself. The old laser rifle is decent early game; especially if you get the splitter/accelerator mods (I skip the scope though).

But the trusty Holorife then does much of the heavy lifting until later levels. Sure, you could write a novel in the time it takes to reload but as someone who plays punishing mods greatly increasing the rarity of ammo, it ends up being a really effective use of the MF cells I find.

Agree with you on the Tri-Beam.

The Compliance Regulator has saved my life on more than one occasion; deathclaw or Yao Guai rapidly approaching without warning and they suddenly get paralysed with the weak little CR; allowing me precious seconds to unload a heavy barrage as they helplessly lie still.

Outside of energy weapons, I love the hunting revolver. Shame the gov’t rounds are like gold dust, though.

i felt like shit finally exploring quarry junction for red lucy quest. i restarted and i will see where i can find another deatclaw egg. its pretty incredible that this is the first proper re play of the game since i finished in a old piece of shit aspire notebook back at college almost 20 years ago

Well, what's the best shotgun to use And Stay Back perk?
I remember using Riot Shotgun but the shit spends so much ammo.
