At first I thought it was dumb that the Elder is coaxing Maximus to be some sort of protege but then I saw the Elders of the other chapters... I guess Maximus is the right choice considering everyone else in the Brotherhood is written with level 1 raider dialogue.

I'm a bit late, but I saw the latest episode and it's a definite improvement over the last episode. I liked the cold open quite a bit (although I think the patrolling the Mojave bit was too on the nose). I also liked the idea that over the years, all the different BOS chapters have diverged from the intent of the Codex just like we saw with Lyons' chapter. That all being said, where the fuck were the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel? They're evil bastards, but why weren't they invited? Also does this mean that the Knights of San Fernando chapter is the direct descendant of the Lost Hills chapter/potentially the Mojave chapter if they still exist? Also I assume this means the 76 chapter (as in the ones sent East, not the ones who died from the Scorched plague) either rejoined the Lost Hills chapter or died.

bethesda will never make travelling a city fun. Fucking Boston is the same shit as the capital wasteland.
All Bethesda games are designed around fast travel mechanics and compass navigation. You don't need to look anywhere but the mini-map. The actual world or scale can just be blank because players are staring at the corner of the screen or skipping travel altogether. Many games are like this though. The Diablo series or other RPGs have players staring at the map overlay 99% of the time. Or GTA games where you focus on the GPS screen and don't even need to know street names or addresses or even where you are in general.

You just travel from one event or set piece to another like being at a carnival or an arcade and walking from game to game or machine to machine. Or being in Disney and going from ride to ride. Bethesda wants no downtime for the player. Which means making the worlds and game space very simple and easy.

Ok so I know for a fact you've never interacted with any of the DC content because this is just outright not true

What is your opinion on this video that shows examples of Fallout NV being "woke"?
i'd say the video maker should livestream his suicide for trying to jump on the kultur war train after it's parked, pointing to another train saying it's the exact same shit, hell i can be that pedantic by saying that the dremora slave in morrowind is woke because he is a faggot since he literally says he will rape your corpse after he kills you, no matter what your nerevar "gender identity" is making him a homosexual if the kills a male-identifying nerevar and puts the pee pee on the dead poo poo hole.

if FNV was actually woke you wouldn't get half of the "woke" shit implied like it is, the game would remind you of that every 5 fucking seconds through every single possible way like avowed and the brocoli hair fish people or the shitty unironic women-can-do-no-wrong dialogue of forspoken, actual woke shit because of the modernity retardation, also niggers with natural blonde/red hair and skinpatch (vitiligo) people EVERYWHERE, FUCK'S SAKE.

Here's some more documentation on prototypes, I'm glad he made some showcases on the more functional post game, with dialog

i think people will grasp at any fucking straws they can get to say "their" game supports their views. "the ncr is full of women!" yeah its the fucking post-apocalypse and they have to fight off all manners of creatures and mutants and raider armies, they need anyone they can get and even that isn't enough. that's why shitheels like contreras go unnoticed, the army's priorities are focused on not getting blown to shit by fiends and the legion. i never heard about this white savior shit with honest hearts and it does daniel's stupid character a great disservice. daniel's whole deal is that he's trying to protect this sense of innocence that he has projected onto the sorrows, so much that he would rather see their homeland destroyed just so they can go without blood on their hands. in every single ending to honest hearts, daniel is sad, because he is a moron. leave the valley? he goes the rest of his life missing zion. protect the valley? he gets sad that the sorrows have respect for joshua's will to protect what is theirs from those who would kill, maim, steal, and rape.

speaking of vault city I have never gotten the captain of the vault thingy in all of my playthroughs
It's buggy and requires a very specific order of doing things to get it

Basically there's a hidden "respect counter" associated to Lynette, and it can go down (resulting in you getting banned from Vault City) or up (choosing specific flattering dialogue options and doing her quests). Now you could do all her quests with optimal results and still won't hit the amount of "respect points" in order to become captain of the guard

To do so you must spam "respectful dialogue" options before finishing all her quests (in the optimal way), then she'll name you captain of the guard

Pretty obscure feature in the game, and won't do much besides allowing you to order Stark to pay Cassidy some money for trashing his bar
