Tim Cain's new video shines light on his recent comment of "Don't try guessing what ip i am working on" after his return to Obsidian early december.

I personally believe he's saying he won't work on what microsoft wants him to work on (new fallout, which would print billions) unless they properly pay and credit all members of the dev team with royalties, which i believe might be possible only if M$ pries off the IP from Bethesda's hands
I know a certain retard will a-log me for this but as bad as Bethesda has bungled Fallout I shudder to think of modern Obsidian handling it. If Avowed and TOW2 are an example of what they can do, Fallout would be butchered.

I truly think Fallout in the hands of a studio that is both competent and full of good ideas would be a boon. Maybe introduce politics (Stay with me on this one) by using high Charisma to completely change entire factions. Like, have the Enclave be at a stalemate where one side wants to become more helpful and less murderous, while the other side worships Eden and wants to FEV nuke everyone. And using politics to sway people through favors, quests and the like will make the Enclave either become good guys or full on bad guys.
Maybe use the politics system to work out alliances between raider gangs and become a real raider king. Look I loved Nuka World but the raider treatment was so badly done. You either go full evil or miss 90% of the quests by being good.
And maybe have the setting be someplace different? New Orleans with riverboats full of raiders and mutant catfish. Texas with mutant rattlesnakes and rad-tornadoes. Shit even Montana would be a neat place. I am fucking SICK of the desert and the east coast.

energy weapons are simply distasteful

Isn't bullpup a gigantic meme that was rendered obsolete with the groundbreaking, ball-quaking discovery that you can just make a better barrel or use a bigger caliber?
I'm just a nogunz convict living on a prison island, but I thought the main advantage of the bullpup design was the fact that it's shorter than the standard rifle without sacrificing barrel length.

If I went back to the past to implement a feature where every time there's a black person in a room, you'd be able to hear a fire alarm chirp,
and if your asked them about it, they'll act confused and claim to not hear it. would you call this based by today's standards?
what if I wanted to push for a feature where if you're playing as a black, you can gain health/stat benefits for eating corn starch?
that wouldn't even register as "based" for the time NV was released, but eventually it will.

that word also wasn't a thing when fallout NV was released, but you would call that racial based fire alarm awareness/Corn starch racial bonus
features based if I had my time machine working.
The term for excessive pandering or overcorrection for perceived slights against certain minorities would've been labled as, "pandering," "preachy," "marxist," or employed the phrase, "political correctness gone mad." The tern "woke" is a handy umbrella for a bunch of different things that the term makes it easy to generalise.

Similarly, "based" is broad enough that it simultaneously refers to stuff that is either "right-wing," (or "left-wing" if you're left-wing), "true", or simply, "funny" and/or "politically incorrect".

Were my post made in 2012 or something, it would've been: "New Vegas is Liberal, but it's not excessively preachy, pandering, or too politically correct."

The key thing I'm more interested is the Why, that's far more important than arguing over words that inherently have loose definitions.
an example I'd make is when I was like 8, my dad would make fun of Indian people by doing a funny apu voice.
me being around that made me adopt the belief: "Racism is funny"

that belief has lead me down to who I listen to, what books I read, what words I use, what groups I'm conformable around, what sites I use.
the point I'm making here your life experience is going to show up in everything you make/do, and I'm implying if you were to sit down
and ask "why should we do all this gay shit?" you'd get someone who adapted beliefs and made sure to share those beliefs any way they could.

same with how it was SO important that we HAD to have a women be the strongest there ever was
and can take on 20+ grown men armed with machetes with her bare hands,
having racial based perks of fire alarms chirps and eating corn starch is vital to me.

if given the chance. I would share my belief of "Racism is Funny"
in everything I make, just like how all the gay nigger aspects were in FN.

"Racism is Funny" is a core aspect of based shit.
same with how feminism, gay sex, and brown people are a core aspect of woke shit.
don't tell me brown people are not inherently woke, what do you think the shit stains on the pride flag represents? besides gay sex

As Tim Cain's number one hater, I agree. He was woke before it was cool and I can only imagine what he would do in 2025. It would be an absolute nightmare. Modern Bethesda is shit, but from what I can tell, Starfield wasn't half as woke as TOW2 (I didn't play either).

Was there any "wokeness" in Fallout 1?

Ive been thinking about another Vegas playthrough (I always invent extensive backstories for my couriers and roleplay) and i've noticed that I enjoy roleplaying as women way more than men, am i cooked chat?

Maybe introduce politics
the entire diamond city politics subplots fucking blows. alsi i really dislike that location for some reason

fuck off tranny

I fixed my earlier "no hair for new vegas" issue, it was the New Vegas Anti Crash mod. removed it and hair came back. that said, i realized i played 20-24 hours without hitting the main "pick a side" maim quest and for the first time picked up raul.

New vegas is the best fallout.
New Vegas Anti Crash is the most do not install mod I've ever come across in gaming, I legitimately believe that the reason people think NV is so broken is they download this archaic POS and don't realize that what's causing the crashing isn't New Vegas, it's the anti crash mod that actually makes your game less stable somehow.

I'm sorry you had to suffer the same way I did.

Maybe this time he will hire actual writers.

Really though, i had to go through a walkthrough of modding New Vegas, as when i tried to play it vanilla it crashed a lot, fair enough I'll mod it then right?

I pull up multiple different videos and modlists trying to see which one i want to use, almost all of them have NVAC in them. after i install about 30 different mods, all of which are just bugfixes and stability and start the game it crashes twice as much as it did when it was vanilla and i had no clue why. The LAST mod I'd think was making the game crash more is the one that says, "DOWNLOAD THIS MOD OTHERWISE YOUR GAME WILL CRASH!"

I just did Viva New Vegas on a clean install a week or so ago hoping to finally see if there is someway i can play New Vegas without it stuttering and crashing every 30 seconds, and while the game isn't perfect even after all that, it doesn't stutter almost at all anymore and i only had a handful of crashes through an entire run. (me attacking things with the industrial hand was more than half of them for some reason?) but i think one of the final things they tell you is to forget that NVAC even exists, that it's old as shit, brute forces code, actually makes the game crash more because of it, and that it breaks far more than it fixes. Funny in hindsight.

a clean viva new vegas without anything more its the way to go. be adviced that it changes the gameplay and difficult levels. the ncrcf will fuck you up if you arent prepared
Having 15 years (jesus) of experience modding NV, I don't really need guides at this point, but checking lists is helpful to find gems that might slip through the cracks.
