I see that the show went with House and Marcus' interpretation of the Legion, where without Caesar, they defied him and have split into factions, and the Legion is falling apart, killing each other. I wonder what happened to Lanius in this timeline. Given that Macaulay Culkin's character still wears Lanius' armor, it's highly doubtful Lanius retreated in shame. More likely, Lanius died fighting the Courier or some other threat.

It would be hilarious if the Ghoul made a mistake, and Legate Kevin is able to win the Legion Civil War, with him defeating the rival Legion faction and uniting the Legion to make them a legitimate threat once more. Maybe they can cross paths with the Brotherhood and we can have a decent fight between two well-armed factions. Imagine Maximus coming across them and Lucy having to explain to him who they were.

BoS is such a funny game, because that level of obscene T&A, vulgarity and unrefinment marks it as so extremely of it's time that you might not be able to make it more mid 00's gaming if you went in with the intention to outdo it.
The 00s was a golden age of gaming. Never shall we see its like again, especially since people on both sides lose their shit when they see something mildly offensive.

"Picture taken 5 seconds before a disaster"
That's about 5x too slow given Horrigan's reaction speeds.

Or just the logical conclusion of what happens when a dictator dies and there's no clear successor considering Lanius appears to be out of the picture and there's no Courier Six.

After all, Rome itself had how many civil wars and succession struggles? You might say other than their usage of proper Latin its the most Roman thing about the Legion.

I think Vulpes would do a better job as Caesar than Lanius, especially if Lanius continued leading the military. They would make a good team as long as they got along. If Caesar named Vulpes as his successor, I wonder if Lanius would honor it.

I just got caught up with the TV show. It's pretty decent, with a few caveats.

The show makes repeated digs at capitalism, which I didn't care for because the writers are doing what the writers for New Vegas didn't do, which is take a side. One such example of "capitalism bad" is when it's revealed that Vault-Tec dropped the first bombs, it's stupid because the entire reason why they do it is to justify the vaults to the stock holders, but what economy is there to be concerned about if everyone is too dead to circulate money? Why do none of the board members think of this? If the purpose of the vaults is not to save humanity, but to make money, why would you blow up the world over it? Nobody is going to buy vaults or vault tickets when they're too busy burning to death or vomiting blood. Weren't the vaults subsidized by the government?

In season two, we get to see Mr. House. Unfortunately, Mr. House is a creepy sociopath who's into mind control tech, for some reason. He also supplies the nuke that blows up Shady Sands. He's now doing things that he would never do in New Vegas, largely because he's supposed to be the Libertarian voice of Fallout, so of course he must now be a major villain because "REEE MUH CAPITALISM!!!"

I also don't like how the Brotherhood of Steel are depicted, they're supposed to be a secret order of knightly tech priests, not a retarded frat house of mentally stunted thugs.

However, I do like how the Vault dwellers in Vault 33 are written as a pitch perfect satire of naïve "no human is illegal" shitlibs. I won't spoil it because it is indeed funny.

No super mutants yet, unfortunately. I hope we get the high intellect mutants and not the braindead generic ogre mutants.

What about the Handmade Rifle? It's literally just a lefty AK and on a similar measure I'd go to bat for the hunting rifle as long as it has the proper full stock and a proper barrel on it too. They might be subhuman lefty versions but they look nice overall. Hell I'd even go to bat for the .44 Revolver too, but then again it is hard to fuck up a revolver.
Im legit rolling with the normiest looking sniper rifle, shotgun and hunting rifle. The fact that you have to scrap shit to make those 3 is proof enough that brthesda always wanted to monetize the fuck ouf of 4 but they werent ready until they shitted out shelter and 76

If the purpose of the vaults is not to save humanity
That wasn't even the purpose for them, they were supposed to be testbeds for how humans would react in isolation. Sure, some were 'normal', but every experiment needs a Control Group.

Capitalism Bad!!!1. You already noted this.
Weren't the vaults subsidized by the government?
Yes, but the writers don't know this because not only did they not play the games, they didn't even read the setting Bible that's been rotting in the bin for going on two decades now.

See above 'capitalism bad', and also BoS is based off of how Bethesda has treated them after 3 combined with some of the Borderlands runoff.
Where did we even pick up Borderlands runoff? Did extras cross between the two and carry a fucking plague??
I won't spoil it because it is indeed funny.
I might- aren't they literally not even the original dwellers for said Vault?
I hope we get the high intellect mutants and not the braindead generic ogre mutants.
:optimistic:
sniper rifle, [...] hunting rifle
Same items, same role, same ammo type unless you deliberately made your sniper a bootleg antimat or have one of the exceptionally long-distance scopes on it. Please do not have done that, the scopes in vanilla suck and unless you have INI fuckery the 8x ones are useless.
That being said, on the topic of 'Fallout 4 Vanilla Weapons', i'll toss the double-barrel in sawed-off form and laserweapon in Rifle form. Plasma is too fucked to fix visually and laserweapon in Pistol form makes my eyes hurt.
If one tosses the DLC into the mix then the lever-action is alright, i guess. Short Barrel variants also make my eyes hurt.

I love how they made the brotherhood of steel a bunch of knuckledragging retard fratbro cultists who don't know how to build refrigeration and communicate with mirrors instead of radios.

10mm pistol is the only good firearm in 4 design wise.
I'm not as down on most of the designs as other people, a lot of the weapons that are pretty explicitly real world designs are okay, namely the .44, double barrel, and hunting rifle, and others. I cannot defend things like the pipe guns which work as a mutant weapon only or the combat rifle being a skin for the combat shotgun (they even use the same mesh files)

I also like the assault rifle design, though it doesn't not deserve the moniker of that name at all, the game is just missing a lot of weapons in its arsenal.

i cant get over how not cassie they wrote cait
the funny part is that cait is less bitchy and roastie than cassie, more nosey and less whorey even though she's a reporter and... well, a good chunk of journo women aren't shy of opening their legs if it means getting info.
it's like they slapped a "do the opposite" comma on cass character sheet.

the implied rivalry between lanius and vulpes is gay because if lanius is as much as a warrior he is then he would appreciate how vulpes way of working to undermine the enemy is good for him and vice versa.
overall the conflict seems to be "oh they are smart to undermine shit as their goals when given but too stupid to think on their own and will fight for the clout that being nominated by caesar himself grants" and it's frankly retarded because such stupidity would cost them their lives pretty easily but that's part of the implied thing that casear's legion is held together with spit even if the guys are taught and shaped into the ways of big C.

It's because the BoS are MAGA coded and redditors need their orange man bad slop

The thing is that it's not only that they aren't the good guys, it's that they're straight up just not the brotherhood of steel anymore. They're a weird technocult that has infinite power and resources but somehow zero understanding of technology. They couldn't even be bothered to repair Blaximus's armor between seasons and literally just straight up murder each other in front of cheering crowds.
