> Be me, Fallout Amazon show
> Be a supposedly gritty show about a post apocalypse about the struggles of humanity and how war never changes
> Unironically have female sassy millennial coded main character in the year of our lord 2025
> Said female character proceeds to womansplain in front of male dominated Legionaires how they are apparently saying their leader's name wrong (spoilers, they actually arent) and how she isnt a virgin, thus not matching their "requirements"
> Said female character doesnt proceed to get either decapitated, gang raped, fed to hungry mongrels, properly cruxified, having her tongue cut off and thrown among the other slaves, just plain out shot or a combination of all of the above....somehow
> You're racist/antisemitic/not a real fan if you dont like this.
If I were to defend this, I would simply argue that it's due to a decline of the Legion's ideology due to the loss of their leader.

Then again, they slew the slave woman on sight, so that doesn't make sense either.

Also, why did they show no interest in the fact she's a vault dweller? Vaults have resources, and they could use those resources to win their civil war. If I were to rewrite this scene, I would've had nu-Caesar send out a squad of legionaries with Lucy to have her lead them to her vault, then Cooper shows up to shoot them and free her.

This also brings up another thing that doesn't make sense, why did the slave woman lead Lucy to the Legion in the first place? She even makes a snide remark about how "I wouldn't want you to get raped by the wrong people" before they're caught. She obviously fled the Legion, which is why she ended up at the basement of that office building with the scorpions. A lot of things with that episode don't make any sense.

Far Harbor its THAT good to keep playing this dreck?
No, and your [sic] doing yourself a service if you don't play yet another heaping of slop that is 4.
Will say, it's far more tolerable, but only if you tolerate Fo4 to begin with. I only tolerate Fo4 if the story is completely removed like with Frost and I can engage with some of the actually decent parts of that game, helps if said decent parts are smoothing out with mods that make them better.
I also want to be clear before I get yelled at that I don't think your opinion on Fo4 is invalid @Star Classic. In-fact, tell me what you think Fo4 does best.

Haha, yeah... except for all the story re-baked onto it.
There's a story? Jokes aside, yeah there is one but it's not the Fo4 story nor have I ever gave a fuck about it. It's meaningless fluff that you barely engage with even when you do actually engage with it, I remember nothing about it beyond a single "quest line" (the Maldenmen one) that was literally just notes that you can ignore or find/read in any order. Only real forced "story" interaction is if you want to get to Far Harbor and the trip that is Cabot, even then those are one-off.

It's better that way- but still a massive pain in the ass when it is forced into view ala Parson's/random NPCs that vanish on 'death'/Janus in general, somehow.
It's always the fucking subway NPCs, too.
One of the less-shit ones that actually has objectives is the Federation line, but that requires you to kill several ghouls and then disarm 4 landmines in quick succession at level 1 followed by having an effective-CHA of at least 7.
I don't think i need to elaborate on why that's a massive problem to get started with it, but once you get over the starter hurdle it's alright. Even has the only non-player merchants in the entire mod now that they locked off the Far Harbor Vault.
Even though half the Vaults in the game should be open and abandoned/openable by that timeframe, but that's a personal gripe that i can't be assed to properly-fix right now, same goes for Far Harbor being a one-trip vacation despite Nuka-World being not such.

Remember the Institute quest where they have you kill and replace a farmer so they can plant their genetically modified Gourds or whatever the fuck to see how the seeds do, and once they get the data they wipe out the farmstead and move on? These people are more retarded than the minutemen.

They could purify every source of drinking water in the area. Their robots could sweep through Boston culling every mutated freak I'm the commonwealth with an efficiency that'd make the Brotherhood coom if it wasn't being done by fucking synths. They could he curing diseases and bringing back extinct species of livestock to give people clean meats.

But no. They're wiping out entire families to grow a handful of gourds, making gorillas(how they handles nests isnt addressed), and playing God so they can make someone scrub the toilet for them.

Nuke these fucking smooth brained cunts.
The institute are, bar none, the dumbest fucking faction in the game, including the fucking Railroad.

It's almost impressive how they're completely irredeemable in almost every way for basically no reason. They're like 500 years more technologically advanced than the commonwealth but waste all their time on stupid bullshit that either helps no one, is needlessly cruel and immoral or bites them in the ass. They accomplish borderline miracle science but then use it to wipe their own asses.

The biggest example of this has gotta be the synths.

Why the fuck would you create hyper-advanced terminators that are indistinguishable from humans and then have them mop your floors? Why? Why not just use a Mr. Handy? Are you fucking stupid?

Why build a machine so advanced it can literally become sentient and then use it for... menial slave labor and pointless replicant bullshit that does nothing but make everyone on the surface want to murder you? That's almost suicidal in it's short-sightedness.

It's like if someone stranded in the middle of a desert managed to dig a well and develop a complex working plumbing system just to built a toilet to shit in, then he tears it all down and never drinks a single drop. Oh and there's a bunch of other people stranded in the desert around him too.

These people could turn Boston into Eastern Shady Sands in like a week but instead they sit in a bunker for decades jerking each other off and building robot gorillas in-between sabotaging any attempts by the surface to come together and civilize.

The Enclave are unironically more understandable in their motivations than the Institute. At least the Enclave actually told you what their goals were.

I saw the rumors that Fallout 3 and New Vegas are getting a remaster like Oblivion got. I'm not too excited about it because Fallout 3 and New Vegas are the games that need an actual remake. Using Unreal Engine to put a coat of paint over the Gamebryo engine isn't enough.

Well if you're being sincere, I appreciate it. Gimmie a day or two and I could make an effort post for that.

I'll refrain from reusing the terry response but this is even more so. Remakes for any game after 2005 are terrible ideas, remasters are still a terrible idea but neither game needs a remake.

Thats your explanation. There aint one and they just want to replace everyone just so they can have a slave/infiltrator population for surrounding areas or some self sabotaging nonsense like that
no it's not, because they don't fucking say it, it's like they didn't give any thought to it because the institute was the designed evil faction and there is zero need to elaborate further, because the option to explode the institute remains on your quest log even if you are working for them, if you choose to blow them up the you can't double cross whoever faction you committed with the attack on the institute but you can double cross the institute even after doing ten million billion fetchquests for them, especially the minutemen thing because preston and you being the general, it's paarthurnax but as a faction.
that project valkyrie mod is worthless gooner shit or it fix this slop story?
most of the videos on it are from female sole survivor...
and the featured modpage video has a tactislut trio

take a wild guess.

The Institute are just "mad scientists lol" and that's pretty much the entirety of their motivations and reason to exist. Because Bethesda and Emil never looks at anything he writes beyond a surface level, he had the idea of "Bladerunner but in Fallout" and "50s Mad Science" and went from there. Anything beyond that was just not on the table because it requires looking at the resources at their disposal and thinking about why they don't just use their stupidly advanced technology to rule The Commonwealth with an iron fist. They instead rule "From the shadows" with Synth replacements and secret agents, but that actually just means they have one retarded guy as the mayor of Diamond City who does practically fuck all to actually keep The Institute out of people's mouths.

Turning The Institute into a competent faction would mean you couldn't make generic blown up building post-apocalypse shit and we all know Bethesda isn't into that whole "post-post-apocalypse" thing the franchise was actually about.
