How'd I forget about that one? that's something I wish the games did more of (if they could, we know why gamebryo could never)
It also has a great setup: you find this well organized lawful community, then you learn the truth about it, then you organize equipment for your side and in the end, when the battle begins, regular citizens rise up and aid you in fighting against their oppressors.
The only thing that's missing here is an ending slide.

The only mod of theirs i would be interested in downloading is that vending machine mod but even then i use the dead money bunker as a main player home so i would never actually need that.
The Sink Redesigned mod has that and a better storage layout without the tranny cope, though if I'm getting a mod for player homes I'd just go for the ultimate underground hideout.

Battle for Adytum was quite memorable too, due to the number of combatants on both sides.
The only problem is that it takes FOREVER. It's 10% you and the Blades actually dealing the guards and 90% civilians surrounding one and throwing punches for 2 damage. It takes around 10 minutes at minimum each time even with the fastest combat speed. I once crashed 3 different times midway through and had to restart because the game doesn't allow you to save mid-combat too

It is funny to see the civilians accidently hit by a plasma shot and melting though

I highly recommend Et Tu if you ever plan to replay F1:
It's more stable than the original release, fixes some bugs (you can get good endings for the Hub and Followers if you want) and adds some F2 QoL changes.

The canon ending of new vegas, according to the TV show anyway...

This is a running theme with hijacked franchises

And yet normies will claim nearly all major IP suffering a complete, near complete or at least a partial collapse is all a coincidence.

It is always a coincidence with them, it is far more comfortable to believe that.

Were you watching The Mandalorian with your eyes closed? From day one it and all its connected shows have been about bridging the gap between the originals and the sequels. That's why the scientist wanted Grogu, he needed his midichlorians to work on cloning Palpatine. We see General Hux's dad from the Phasma novel in the Imperial Warlord conference call. The Book of Boba Fett shows us Luke building his Jedi academy that gets destroyed by Kylo. The Mandalorian season 3 finale has troopers in red First Order Stormtrooper armor. The Bad Batch season three was all about the Empire wanting to study Omega because she managed to have midichlorians in her bloodstream despite being a clone of Jango Fett (although I feel like the bigger question is where she got a vagina). Skeleton Crew explains where Leia got the funding for The Resistance. The Acolyte was going to explain the origins of the Knights of Ren had it not been cancelled (thank god). Finally, Jakku is going to be a racetrack in the upcoming SW racing game, but I can't even fault them for that because pod racing or swoop racing through the wreckage of a Star Destroyer sound kind of badass. Basically every show has been about explaining "Somehow Palpatine Returned."

Crazy to imagine that the Expanded Universe's goal is to justify the sequels's existence while Legends's goal was to EXPAND the prequels's established lore.

One is a desperate but ultimately fruitless task while the other is simply using what was already there to craft a bigger and richer universe.

Say whatever you want about the prequels, lord knows they are far from perfect, but Lucas knew he had to sell this sense of wonderous scale that make us see we are witnessing a tiny (altho important in the grand scheme) event among millions of others happening concurrently, all waiting to have their stories told.
There's also been a shit ton of sequel stuff in publishing. There was a book about Finn I didn't read, a book about Leia training Rey I didn't read, and Legacy of Vader which is probably the only good piece of sequel era fiction. There was also a Battle of Jakku comic, but I don't think that really counts since it's effectively retelling the story from a mobile game they killed a decade ago.

Battle of Jakku is one of the most stupid ideas ever because the empire just getting wiped out like that is absolutely unrealistic but then again, the empire post Palpatine's death was all over the place, like Operation Cinder while, at the same time, Palpatine was still alive secretly*.

Legends at least made the Empire somewhat competent even after Palpatine's death, even having a few wins here and there. And even then, they were never "fully" defeated, they were allowed to keep a small corner of the galaxy to themselves and after so many decades of conflict, both sides were exhausted and just wanted the conflicts to end already.

Yep! Seriously one good game out of several (including what they have in the future) bastardizations of the IP is hardly worth it even if I do really like NV, plus the absolute cancer that is the community now (I'll take the autism of NMA over Plebbit), yeah no I'd rather it die than be under Bethesda. Of course I rather it be someone else's IP that would at least try to make good games, but that did not seem to be a possibility at the time.

Which makes me wonder, if Fallout wasnt sold to anyone, what would be it's current state? Interplay is struggling even to this day and constantly on the brink of bankrupcy (selling the IP was necessary to avoid that fate, they were THAT desperate for cash).

Maybe if they didnt sell Fallout, they would have gone bankrupt and assuming no other company bought the IP then, would this lead Fallout becoming abandonware?

A lot of possibilities, it was a delicate situation.

Good, let it all fall apart. I would rather take a dead IP than one that is constantly raped, altho with Fallout that doesn't even mean a drought of content since there is a lot of talent involved with big, game sized projects. Bethesda nor Amazon are required to keep the franchise going ,and frankly both could collapse right now and nothing would change for me.

Dead, which would still be better. You may point at New Vegas, and sure it's good, but it's not worth having a billion retarded niggers the 3D games/TV Show brought over shit up the community or any of the already mentioned Bethesda/Amazon bastardizations. New Vegas is but a game, I would take Van Buren actually releasing any day of the week.

Maybe if they didnt sell Fallout, they would have gone bankrupt and assuming no other company bought the IP then, would this lead Fallout becoming abandonware?
Fallout is a cult classic, someone would have bought out the IP at one point, just like the Wasteland IP was eventually bought out even tho it was an infinitely less successful/popular game. Perfect world, we would get Troika/inXile to buy out the IP and give Fallout a Wasteland 2/3 treatment, maybe make a Fallout game in the Arcanum/Bloodlines engine that could potentially save Troika from shutting down. We will never know. Better question is, would Bethesda survive without Fallout if they were already on the verge of shutting down as Morrowind was developed? Fallout and later Skyrim is the only thing that saved them and it looks like neither will do so again for very long after Fallout 76 and Starfield double whammy.

It's been weeks since the big New Vegas beta build leaks and nothing came of it. This new crop of Fallout "fans" is absolutely pathetic and toothless, little wonder all they get is their little TV show and broken Fallout 76 events, they deserve nothing else.
A lot of exploration videos and a Mr. House romance mod came out of it.

House romance was known for years now, anyone could have made it at any time and I would be surprised if it wasn't part of some cut content mod already. It was just a way for female characters to bypass the terminal to his vault(back when there was an entire questline to unlock it, which was cut similarly to the entire Emily Ortal quest), very easy to program back in. If someone made a legit romance mod with dating and whatnot like they did with Joshua Graham then I consider that a net negative.

What's the quick tl;dr/rundown on season 2 of the show? God knows noone outside of shills is watching for any reason other than to see the trainwreck.

This is basically the story of every IP except maybe Warhammer (I genuinely don't know enough about it). There are no "guys who just make games/stories they love" anymore. It's all just nostalgia-bait slop.
I think the current 40K IP owners are the opposite of the Fallout and Star War IP owners. For example, the latter want to keep the franchises stagnant and constantly repeat "muh wasteland muh scrap buildings and everyone likes like in india" and "muh stormtroopers muh palpatine returns" while the Warhammer world currently is... Progressing, for real?

I am not an expert on 40K lore but right now, Guilliman is back (Emperor might be on his way out...) and is leading the Imperium into a stronger direction and a new faction is introduced who are basically just Dwarves, and so on.

not that id bet money on it but just a hunch for a prediction of what could happen down the line:
theory: cooper will find out his wife died but the daughter is still alive, however she will be evil or something similar like with fallout 4, and cooper will have to decide whether or not to kill her. my odds being he doesnt, but lucy gets dragged into this plot down the line and has to be the one to do it because her arc will revolve around her having to embrace the wasteland life and kill someone intentionally who is too big of a threat to keep around. so she'll probably kill culkin caesar to have that happen, either intentionally or otherwise
i could be wrong, and probably will be, but thats just a theory. a game theory.

There is probably a universe where House actually does look like that Epstein edit at 0:41
The Bible mod is actually really good, although I'd make it so the scripture Joshua gives the courier is where the book is added, it always annoyed me they couldn't have made it readable, even just a quote or line from the King's James' Bible would've fleshed the world out more for non-christians.
That's way cooler and i would probably download that for the added bit of world building. Honestly as a kid i never actually looked at the object by dropping it so i never knew it was an actual bible until a few years ago.

"We respected the players choices by making our own original choices"
Dinky being backwards (and the pool but Novac even just having a pool is a whatever retcon, all that really changes is they might have a garden or something now) just summarizes the problems with the show connecting new vegas lore, its accurate looking and in the right place but its changed just enough in dumb ways that ultimately no one wins.

Its just companies wanting to make more money by trying to appeal towards untapped markets leading to people who should not be in charge being put in charge and over doing it on the appeal towards said markets. No IP can escape this as capitalism will cause the demand of bigger numbers leading to the increase of what sells over what is actually good. All we can do as fans is reclaim what we like and make our own paths separate from the true honest and canon path.

Lucas also knew he was handing off this universe to a large and talented group of creatives carving their own chunks in his creation that despite overlap came together in the end for the many legends fans out there, the sequels and disney canon has been mostly endless attempts towards fixing the previous creatives work and embarrassment for their supposed ending trilogy.
Battle of Jakku is one of the most stupid ideas ever because the empire just getting wiped out like that is absolutely unrealistic
Also if there's any battle you get a pass for setting on a fan fave planet its the final battle of the empire

More and more of the unique pre war brands are replaced with real life ones if BOS is anything to go by with bawls replacing nuka cola.
I would take Van Buren actually releasing any day of the week.
At this point i think van buren has been cannibalized into fallout enough through references and reused ideas that it kinda did
What's the quick tl;dr/rundown on season 2 of the show? God knows noone outside of shills is watching for any reason other than to see the trainwreck.
It's alright, if you liked season 1 you will like season 2 and the pre war sections is genuinely a better show with the wasteland parts rarely reaching the heights.
They painted Ron Pearlman green and called it a super mutant 10/10
and "muh stormtroopers muh palpatine returns" while the Warhammer world currently is... Progressing, for real?
Lets not act like when star wars did progress in legends it also did palpatine returns and the Yuuzhan Vong, your description of how 40k is doing sound way more interesting
not that id bet money on it but just a hunch for a prediction of what could happen down the line:
Ignoring the possibility shes still a kid but with aging actors i doubt that's happening
