An unnecessary change in the unofficial patch for something that was likely left in intentionally and working as intended? Say it ain't so.
Actually the OG intent was having Dogmeat + Companion.
Nah, i played last time TMR (having that unofficial patch) and Lone Wanderer work wonders with Dogmeat.
There's a mod which restores that functionality (the first one i mentioned).

It's way shorter than I remember it being.
Did you skip straight to GNR or all the way to Vault 112? If so then yeah, no shit, you skipped half the story.
That being said, it's definitely shorter in its entirety than New Vegas is on average, but that's because 2.5 routes of New Vegas include genuinely 20 hours of gameplay if you're a perfectionist about it.
In fact, all of F3's internal levels felt very copy-paste. IDK if the metro systems and sewers skewered my perception, but after a while everytime I entered a building I kept thinking "I've already explored all this before". NV's outer map may be shittier that 3's but man 3's 'dungeons' turn into green-gray mush.
This is largely correct, not including custom-built ones like the Vault-Tec Regional HQ they are largely the same between different subgroups.

I played it all in order I never skipped straight to one story location mainly because I kinda forgot most of the story. Vault 101 to megaton to gnr to rivet city to vault 112 to project purity to the citadel and then to the radiation nightmare hell rape vault full of super mutants and then the anal probing with Autumn. I did a few things on the side enough to get me up to level 14 before I completed the game. I think I made it easier on myself with my autistic hording of caps and ammo crafting. It was pretty fun though I had a good time

I played through fallout 3 with ttw and just did the main story and fucked around in dc. It's way shorter than I remember it being. (Than again the last time I played was on a ps3)
One of the biggest design flaws of Fallout 3 is that the game is constantly nudging the player towards the main quest. And the areas you explore lead to almost no side quests. So you can just follow your compass through the main storyline and if you don't wander off the map marker path you will rarely encounter any sort of side quests or areas. And most of the side quests you will encounter confine you to a specific area and do not encourage exploration. There's just so much content requires the player to stumble upon it or exhaustively explore for instead of being marked on a map by an NPC or quest.

New Vegas was more the opposite in that both and main and side quests would send a beginner or average level player in every direction. And the direct path through the main quest had obstacles like deathclaws and cazadores or huge currency requirements so only the more experienced or dedicated players could just brute force their way to the Strip or whatever. You go into a town and a person there points you to another town on the other side of the map, if you go in that direction you'll encounter several other towns and places, all of which will have some quests or loot or encounters.
Without playing through the dlcs and just walking through the main story it took me like a few hours in total on top of that the story just kinda sucks. I do like the design of DC and the surrounding wasteland though I think they did a way better job at the abandoning city feeling than they did with fallout 4
Fallout 3's city would be great design if the bombs dropped a decade or two before the player leaves their vault.

I recently did a TTW F3 playthrough and came to the same conclusion. I will say that I actually hated F3's vaults this time around, they're very bland and samey layout-wise and the gimmicks were pretty weak and one-note IMO. I have a stronger appreciation for NV's vaults now.

In fact, all of F3's internal levels felt very copy-paste. I like the metro system in 3, despite being samey each one is just slightly different enough to have a different flavor to it. There is also a learning curve to it, it's very satisfying to learn which metro connects to what part of the city and use them as shortcuts, especially after you killed the enemies there and can just run straight thru. It's useful to me since I never fast travel unless there is some bug that forces me to.
I was very disappointed in the lack of metro tunnels in Fallout 4, especially since the new engine/scripting the game now allows makes them much more interesting to go thru.

Saw a clip from the Fallout Amazon series where the main character chick pulls a "ERM ACKSHUALLY" on the Legion in their own camp about the pronunciation of Caesar, but the writers are so fucking dumb they can't even get it right. What a travesty of a show.

The show is about what you would expect from clueless hollyjew hacks who never played the games, the real travesty are the retards who actually watch this shit unironically(ie some of the people in this thread)
Not canon btw, so who cares lmfao
Congratulations, there's mods for that. I suggest Revised (link 2) but present the original (link 1) for compatibility reasons.
Yeah yeah, i know, not vanilla, can it 'cause you're preaching to the choir. Sell it for three caps at a vendor or something. You can also run FROST instead if you hate yourself.
If you need a mod to fix in a proper dungeon system, then the game failed

There is exactly one good video game movie, and it gets no respect because nerds would literally rather die than admit the only good video game movie was made by Ewe Boll.
The biggest reason the Postal movie is good is that the original creators of Postal 2 were involved in the production and then referenced the movie in later titles.
The biggest reason the fallout tv show is dogshit is because the original creators of fallout 3 and 4 were involved in the production and will reference the tv series in future titles.
Let me know if you see and understand the difference.

Hey, you chumps.
I need answers about how Built to Destroy trait really works.
  • The wikias and reddit crap (even in this thread) are always afirming only it is weapon degrading, not armor included.
  • Using FNVEdit shows it is only "Modify Item Damage", even in Raul's perk, which i know affects armor too.
So, the trait only affect weapons?

The various towns are meant to be the way you explore the world. Moira sends you all throughout the wasteland for her survival guide. Little Lamplight forces you to go to Paradise Falls, in which you either fight them or take on their quest which directs you to Big Town, Tenpenny Tower, and/or Rivet City. All of which have their own quests. I think the issue is that most locations aren't tied to a quest and are primarily combat/loot zones. However, side activities such as the bobbleheads and Nuka Cola Quantum require you to go out of your way and search for those one-off locations for possible rare items.

Which is why I think that the addition of the perk mags to F4 was a good move, as it increases the chance of a dungeon having such unique collectables, minimizing the number of junk dungeons. Clearing out some ghoul house with a toaster in it and some nuka colas is made better if you get a neat magazine you can display in your settlment that gives you +1% gun damage.
