Fallout series

I've been a fan of the series ever since I bought Fallout 2 at a swap-meet back in 2007 (bought it along with a copy of Daggerfall). Only game in the series I haven't played was Brotherhood of Steel for PS2 and X-Box.

It's not part of the series. It's a failed abortion we try to forget about.
If it were to be truly forgotten, all records of it must not be mentioned from wiki's to walkthrough's and such. Still, getting back to the Fallout games, anyone here really played Fallout 2 with the Restoration mod?

I haven't played any Fallout game pre-Oblivion With Guns, but I'm really excited for the next one. I hope they add in more mobility options and get some Mad Max vibes going with raiders on junky motorcycles, that'd be pretty tight.

I remember a playthrough I did of New Vegas once where I tried heading straight to the Strip after getting all my tutorial shit in. I was attacked by cazadors, sought shelter in this little shack, and hadn't saved prior to that so my only autosave was me entering the shack and dying of cazador poison.

Nothing's more satisfying than blowing them away with the Anti-Materiel Rifle.

Chris Avellone mentioned they structured the main plot of New Vegas in such a way so that it was reminiscient of Fallout 1. In that with Fallout 1 you don't have to follow the direction you're given at the start. You could just go straight to the Military base and blow it up, and then to the Master's citadel. With New Vegas they made it so that it was possible to go straight from Goodsprings to New Vegas, but they planted a lot of Cazadores and Deathclaws in the way.

But there are speedrunners that have found ways to avoid them and get to New Vegas within 10 minutes of loading the game. So it is vaguely possible if you have enough patience.

I can't help but picture that as a single person running a really strange route through the Mojave. Like, darting around in what seems like a preordained path they only know about.

I've been spoiled by the Bethesda Fallout games. I loved 3 and New Vegas.

I recently bought Fallout 3 GOTY on Steam during the big summer sale. It's not optomized for windows 7 because of the time of release, I had to mod a few files, but I got it to work properly (although it still crashes every now and again.
