I

think you’re right- the dogs are definitely UP stairs and Chris’s cave is basically the whole ground floor at that point

I assume pre-fire Bob and Barb slept in whatever space they could clear out downstairs

I'm guessing Bob had his own sleeping arrangements from Barb, they didn't talk much for the alst few years of there lives.

If you look at that picture it confirms that Bob's room was on the ground floor as the stairs slightly intrude into the room and they had to adjust the mirror to accommodate it.

Oh yeah that pretty much confirms it- this is probably the same room that is now Chris’s play room

I can definitely see B&B staying downstairs back when Chris was running rampant upstairs- I always think of them in the next room when Chris goes on his rages

I can see the sense of Barb having a single floor to her self, She's got the kitchen and the bathroom and bedroom all on one floor at her age (and likely condition) movement up and down stairs for basics like food and using the bathroom isn't a trivial task.

I think Barb before the fire spend most of her time in that room next to Chris's room because she had so much crap in there it was easyer to leave her to her own devices in there for Bob.

(also nice default font - I like Courier)

It's common in split level houses.
I guess the first floor is meant to be a "basement" and the second floor is meant to be the "first floor".

Still, the 14 BLC floor plan - and the way to 14 BLC - seem to somehow reflect Chris' TV-fried mentality.

Chris’s neighborhood is a metaphor for his life: just a poorly planned series of dead ends.

The fact that Bob only barged into Chris's videos once or twice shows that Bob and Barb were used to this kind of behavior from their adult son. Chris banging, screaming, and raging in his room was considered normal at 14 Branchland CT

Back when it was designed an built in the late 60's early 70's) there was a lot of experimental house styles and this was one of them, I know in some parts of the world this is a more common thing but it's never really caught on in the western world I think in Nordic areas and Switzerland it's more common, but even than it's not supper common, I am kinda surprised that 14BLC didn't have a split level floor as that was more common than this upside down style.

The only places I know of that have this layout in the UK is a set of Holiday homes in Cornwall and a House in the Scottish highlands where it's to take a nice view over the woodlands and a lock and from the build style they are the same vintage as 14BLC, and the neighbouring houses around 14BLC don't seem to have the same layout either.

This is true. And the fact that it took the threat of them losing their home and a perceived suicide threat for Bob to actually discipline his son speaks volumes.

Chris has a habbit of being loud and playing music / games / watching TV all hours of the day or night, so I am guessing there is a lot of insulation in the walls deadening the sound and they had also learned to tune it out to some extent.

I guess it's like Air conditioning if you've ever worked in a office it's always on and you don't notice the noise and how loud it is till it's gone, that must be what Barb and Bob lived with when chris was home.

hey @KIMBOLELE

I thought Chris' old room had a second window on the left side, but I guess that wall is blank?
I actually did think that at first but I looked at pics of 14BC and from the outside there is no window before or after the fire

The house diagram feels like it could be a physical bonus item drawn by Eric Chase Anderson from the Criterion Blu-Ray release of a Chris-chan biopic directed by Eric's brother Wes Anderson.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, it's pretty normal in Canada for two-storey bungalows with a semi-underground basement to have the kitchen on the upper storey.

The 70s really were a wat decade.

The interior decor, disco music, experimental house styles, the fashion, a drunken Barb chasing Bob down a hall...

there is no window before or after the fire
14 BLC has such an ugly design (at least to me). It's like a big bland box with a roof, and at least one side blank.

Does someone have the blue heart symbol thingy? Like the one that's like the power on but with a cross or something like that. I want to make a fan art of another lolcow that's starting to chrisify and I have to make his version of his symbol since said lolcow has his own sonichu and blue heart
