- Operation Black Mesa and Guard Duty, in development by Tripmine Studios:
A full blown fan made remake of Blue Shift (under the name Guard Duty) and Opposing Force. Stuck in development with little to no updates on progress. A little looking around revealed that there's a lot of drama going on in the team due to them being infested by trannies. Long story short, a large part of the dev team, maybe half or more, up and quit because a staff member named Brandon made statements on his social media account that were too based for them to tolerate. Rather than fire the guy, the staff in charge suspended him instead, and the trannies up and left, probably because they wanted him fired and gone.

Don't expect it to be released anytime soon, if at all. If it does come out, expect it to be woke.
- Black Mesa: Blue Shift, in development by the HECU Collective:
Another fanmade remake of half-life blue shift, except this one is actually playable. Using the black mesa engine, it's about halfway complete and 4 of the 8 chapters can be downloaded off steam workshop, or Moddb, and played through. Haven't played it yet myself, but I've heard a lot of good things about it, and this one will probably be finished by the end of the decade.
- Pokemon Uranium:
Pokemon fangame built from the ground up, with it's own custom made region, story, and pokemon. Adds a new pokemon type called nuclear. Little known fact, but Uranium was released on the same exact day as AM2R, and was DMCA'd along with it. Caused a big ruckus at the time and upset a lot of people. The original dev team ceased development and left, but a bunch of new guys took over and, as far as I'm aware, are still updating the game to this day. Can be found and downloaded with a simple web search. Played it several years ago but never finished, remember stopping somewhere after the nuclear gyarados. I recall liking it.
- Prime2D, developed by TeamSCU:
A fanmade remake of metroid prime in 2d pixel art format. It got far enough along that they released a demo. Sadly, Nintendo DMCA'd the dev team shortly after the demo's release, forcing them to pull the plug on the project. The Prime2d demo can still be found via an internet search. I played it myself 2 years ago and enjoyed it greatly. I liked it enough to go and 100 percent the optional hard mode. The only thing I remember disliking about the game is the artifact hunt, with it's hard to understand hints, it was frustrating enough that I used a video guide to find all the artifacts. Even then it's completely optional after completing the main section of the demo. The Prime2d demo is worth playing through at least once for the beautiful pixel art, great soundtrack, and fun gameplay.
It's such a shame, I would have loved to have seen Prime2d fully completed. I still miss what could have been...

There's an in development romhack that aims to remake metroid fusion in super metroid's engine, but the guy behind it is trying to keep public information and videos about it hidden to avoid being DMCA'd by Nintendo. I've decided not to link to anything until the hack comes out. It's been in development for 11 years and will soon be entering it's 12th year. The developer still posts semi-consistent updates every year or so showcasing his progress and he's getting close now. All the bosses are complete and several areas are finished. There are still a couple areas left he needs to complete, nevertheless I look forward to the day it's completed.
