Fanon Wikis

My apologies.
np

In case you didn't know, the mods like responding to out of control shitposting spergfests in topics with a "salt the earth" policy. It's best to stop things before they get too out of hand, or it just becomes a cringefest at best and a banfest at worst. See: The Entersphere.

But I'm getting off topic, so back to the wiki discussion.

A plot format is pretty much a detailed description of what goes on the episode categorized by the "Plot" header at the start of it.

That's called a summary. 'Plot format' is a thing you made up.

So I'm reading this page (thanks to @ThunderCavalier for providing a link) and right away I'm feeling confused. I'm not at all familiar with the Nick Fanonverse so I assume a lot of this is going over my head. Admittedly this is a problem that all fanfiction suffers from, but I will do my best to judge it objectively.

Right away I like the character design. It kind of reminds me of Gumball in that there are lots of different artistic styles on display. I'm guessing this is because the stars of the show are the creations of multiple people. The title cards aren't too bad either, for what it is.

It's really difficult for me to comment on the writing since all I have is a summary and list of episodes. I will say that I don't see a lot of grammatical or spelling errors and everything seems to be written in complete sentences, which is a good start. A lot of care and thought has obviously been put into this. I actually can't understand why KM would abandon something he's put so much investment in. The worst thing I can say about this is the premise is very generic. However, the summary pages show KM has a clear interest in character development, which might be a saving grace if I had an actual episode to look at.

Honestly I haven't looked at too many pages in this wiki, but of the few I have seen this is one of the better ones.

If you click on the title of the episodes on the episode list, it goes to the wiki page on the actual episode.

There's clearly a lot of thought and time put into all this, but it's just the format that kills it for me. I daresay that if this was rewritten in an actual prose format, this might approach something legitimately interesting.

The subject was the Nickelodeon Fanon Wiki, not other miscellaneous wikis.

Actually, according to the opening post:

EDIT: @A Random suggested that this should just be a "fanon wiki lolcows" thread, so feel free to post any funny stuff from other fanon wikis you know of. I'd appreciate it if a mod would change the title to just "Fanon wikis".

So unofficially you can discuss other miscellaneous fanon wikis if you see them here. The Nick Fanon one is the one with the most material right now, though.

Yeah, I'm reading some of The ACS (I'm not about to read the whole thing because it's like twenty full-length pieces of writing) and it stands head-and-shoulders above the rest, if only because it's far more detailed than some of the single sentence "my series kicks ass because it does" entries. A set of characters cobbled together from random franchises with no thought to consistency between them, which is surprising given that most of the characters seem to be personas of Wiki members, so the author has full control over how the characters act and look without having to pay any regard to official canon.

Then again, I know nothing of the Nick fanonverse, and nothing of Nick in general, so the characters are probably infinitely more enjoyable if you're familiar with it. Take my opinion on the characters as the opinion of someone who honestly has no idea about the subject.

The writing itself goes into little detail and, probably because of the plot synopsis format, you get a basic layout of "this happens and then this happens and then this happens" and you're supposed to stop to imagine every event. Still, it's much more enjoyable to read than anything else I've seen on the wiki, and probably the best thing on there by miles.

That's my honest opinion on the series. Maybe it's a better experience if you read the whole thing start-to-finish, I only read like one paragraph each from a few episodes.

But there are people who like it, so why does my opinion matter? I'm not the one writing it. KM should be proud that he wrote it and that there are people who like it, and that should be enough to motivate him to keep going even if the meanies on that other site say it sucks.

EDIT: my first sentence was screwed up because I'm really tired. I meant to say that it *is* better than the other stuff on the wiki.

I know it takes a ton of time and effort to write an actual story, but KM already has an outline and all the world building seems to be taken care of, so why not just write the thing? Or animate it or whatever?

Come on, if you're gonna make OCs for Supernanny, at the very least, keep it realistic! Not even Super Nanny would deal with kids that go this far, and I'm not sure if there are any cases like this! Come on, this is laughable.

Oh damn, what I found wasn't the fanon wiki, it was just the regular one. This is way worse. They treat Supernanny's moves like DBZ attacks, lmao

This family adopted eleven Japanese children and two have been expelled from 200 schools. And seemingly continued to adopt children even while dealing with two obvious cases of violent psychopathy.

I don't I can't even what

At least their Japanese is accurate, I guess. That does indeed say "no, stop!"

JAPANESE GHOST SUPERNANNY FAN CHARACTERS

Why do so many Japanese people suffer in these stories? Do Supernanny Fanon creators overlap with the large population of native Chinese people who hate Japan because of Sino-Japanese War atrocities?

I bet there's a JAM Project Fanon wiki talking about all the fictional boyfriends of a bunch of 30-40-year-old singers.

Well, okay, maybe not.
