Actually in that level you were embedded with Russian terrorists. Despite what Rami Ismael (and therefore the gaming press) believes, none of the call of duty games have Arabic or Muslim big bads, the only one who comes close is one of the sub bosses in cod4. Of course, you can't expect them to know that, the cod games are manshooters, not empty half life maps with audio tracks or rpgmaker 2k stories about being an ugly latinx tranny.
 
As much as I dislike the far-left "hey, let's kill all the rednecks" sentiment, I'm just as excited for more games with crazy death cults as some of these guys seem to be. I just hate that, as usual, politics has to be dragged into it.
 
It's funny that people take it as an attack at just face value. I think it looks really interesting, as the Waco-esque cult hasn't really been done in a shooter. At least to my knowledge. So it actually has me somewhat excited because of it.

I mean, it could turn into something where they show how much they hate white people and Christians, given how SJWs have gotten into AAA games with Andromeda (I didn't pay much attention to that game, so I might be wrong there), but I'm gonna wait until there's more info that says that before I start saying it.

One of the splinter cell games had an enemy kind of like that, homegrown crazed right wing terrorists that you have to infiltrate and convince you're a double agent. It was interesting, but a very weak game none the less due to them trying to shit assassin's creed in to it

It's weird, we have plenty of games with cults in them, but they always take inspiration from Alistair Crowley or Lovecraft. Then all of a sudden we get The Church in the Darkness riffing on Jonestown, and now Far Cry 5 with the branch davidians.

People were upset about that as well, although the people who actually believed there was some kinda of anti-christian agenda behind it were far more fringe - Far Cry 5 is a bit more on the nose with its religious imagery (the cover is a variant of The Last Supper) which has thus garnered more attention

I am not surprised. There are a lot of people out there still genuinely upset over the Waco Siege, and the whole premise of the game sounds like a copypaste of that. :ghost: still has strong feelings about the ATF and Janet Reno to this day.

Honestly the ATF is a tremendously shitty agency and unbelievably manages to be a bigger shitshow than the FBI, while doing a job the FBI, DEA and ICE are both much better equipped to do in a much more even handed way. A lot of the evil shit people suspect the CIA and NSA of pulling is actually eclipsed by the bullshit the ATF is known to have tried

Ffs, can we just have a trailer or game be released without a bunch idiots screaming about how offensive or bad it is? I swear to god, I think I have seen at least 1 group get outraged by nearly every AAA release or teaser trailer this year. Just don't buy the game you fucking whiners. Don't ruin everyone else's good time.
