Favorite Video Game Character and WHY - Pretty self explanatory

"It is human nature to seek culpability in a time of tragedy. It is a sign of strength to cry out against fate, rather than to bow one’s head and succumb. Inevitably many shall fault the hands upon the sword which fell Typhon, the Ordo Malleus. But the Inquisition merely performs the duty of its office. To further fear them is redundant, to hate them, heretical.

Those more sensible will place responsibility with those who forced the hands of the Inquisition. With some fortune, they may foster this hatred into purpose, and further rule their own fate by coming to the Emperor’s service. But ultimately, it was I who set these events into motion, with a single blow from my hammer"

Imagine being one of the top soldiers of the organization, undying loyalty to your boss. You'll do anything for him to the point when your face is burned off your boss sends you to get some insane surgery and your stuck in a coma where he also subconsciously brainwashes you into thinking you ARE him. The original boss then later says you are nothing more than a decoy to fool everyone and you dont freak out over or mentally break you just walk off upholding his will.

Crono from Chrono Trigger, if I had to pick just one. Great design, from a great game, decent amount of character for a silent protagonist. I'll pick a few more based on different criteria:

Featuring Dante from Devil May Cry, because he's got one of the coolest designs and personalities ever.

Red from Pokemon. He's one of the best boss battles in all of gaming. You play as him, then battle against him, it's a really unique idea.

Chun Li from Street Fighter, extremely iconic waifu, very fun character to play as.

Lee Everett from The Walking Dead is a good guy, for some reason I really cared about the character, so he's one of the most well-written.

Mario, the face of gaming, fucking legend.

Sonic the Hedgehog. I'd feel bad not including him.

Joshua Graham from Fallout New Vegas is one of the most compelling characters I've seen in a video game. A man seeking redemption for past atrocities trying to reconcile his faith with his ruthless nature. I understand him, I sympathize and even identify with him, and I care about how his story turns out. And they manage to tell us everything we need to know about the character just from the first conversations you have with him.

Really strange tangent but this reminds of being in a random video forum in 2010 and there was a poll for the best video game characters ever, what ended up happening was Ghost from COD MW2 2009 won it and this made a bunch of guys absolutely PISSED that this nothing character who wears a cool skull mask ended up winning over Zack Fair from final fantasy. Looking back I still find it very amusing.

There's no better written and entertaining characters in gaming. All of them have amazing distinctive personalities that have managed to preserve for nearly two decades with lines that have been completely burned into my brain. I love them.

I could be here all day but I'll give my favorite character to play as

Sora

Look he may be a typical all loving hero, but that kid knows how to BEAT some ass. Dude is all sunshine and rainbows but as soon as it goes down, he fights dirty with everything he's got.

And I love that. It's honestly nice to have a straightforward hero who cuts the crap and goes for the throat when the bell is rung.
