Gamestop would not call him about anything legal from a store level. That is what district offices and legal departments are for. Also there is no way for them (the FLakes Store) to have his personal info unless he was detained by in store security and interviewed for attempted shoplifting. They are not going to try to pull every Christian Chandler from their database and call everyone hoping to inform the right one that he is bann. Likely the two calls were to inform him about two seperate pre orders, or it was weens using prankowl.com or something to that effect, or Chris is making shit up as a last resort.

Regardless, if Chris even dares to bring this up I am certain the judge will laugh and extend his sentence....but I digress

A friend of mine working for Gamestop informed me that odds are good that one of those calls may have been a plea-bargain offer - I.E. an offer of "Acquiesce to these charges of Vandalism and reckless endangerment, and we'll drop the assault and theft charges."

Make of this what you will.
This, or something similar, is what I figured it would be. At the very least something important to the trial. The one time he tries to do the right thing legally and it blows up in his face.

I don't see how it could be. It is not up to GameStop to drop the charges, it is up the prosecutor. Their wishes would be taken into account by a prosecutor, but not to the degree that the prosecutor would let them dictate a plea bargain. And whatever level of consultation the prosecutor chose to have with them, it would be highly improper to have the victim negotiate a plea bargain with the defendant.

The only thing that GameStop could offer would be a dropping or settlement of civil charges. Which would probably take place after a criminal trial.

It seems like the likeliest possibilities are
a) The calls were made right after the incident, maybe even before he was arrested. Maybe an attempt to get him to return to the store to talk to the police or something.
b) The calls were made to formalize a ban. Perhaps the previous bans were just a manager saying "Don't come back anymore" and they wanted to make it a little more official and formal.
c) The calls were made to inform Chris of something like the medical bills for the employee who was maced. Some cost that they feel Chris is legally on the hook for that they hope they can convince him to pay without suing him. Good luck to them with that.

Is the Gamestop even the place pressing charges, though? Because I was under the impression it was the sole employee pressing the assault charge.

Very true. Of course, we won't know anything for sure until certain parties make it known.

Hope you screenshotted it. Looks like Kenny thought the better of his idiotic comment.
No I didn't. I didn't (and don't) feel the need to screen shot anything that man does. He's an attention whore. Lol. Just trust that what he said was dumb, which proves either A) he reads the forums and saw my post and realized he was dumb, B) he removed it after finally reading what Chris actually said, or C) Chris removed the comment himself.

Does it make me a bad meanie if part of me hopes that Chris now thinks his ban/no contact order is now null and void because he believes game stop violated it, so now he is free to go back there? Because the outcome can only be hilarious.

Does it make me a bad person that after reading this I pictured the same manager he maced being there when he merrily broke his ban and it all happened again?

No, there's no assault charge.

Chris got lucky yet again. Even though he was trespassing, and even though he committed assault, he's only been charged with one offense: "dangerous gas unlawful release".

(You can find this one by searching Albemarle General District Court cases for Chris' name or for case number GC14017724-00 . If there were any other charges, they'd appear in here as well.)

What a dumbass. Like when he saw Snyder at Sheetz, he didn't get it then either.

I honestly would not be surprised if he went to Gamestop (a different one) and pulled something stupid because of this.

What are the odds that, eventually, Chris will drop the name of that poor soul?

Give him time; that may be his next step since this little bit of stupidity fell flat (but I hope I'm wrong).

Sad thing is that PDs gonna be trying his/her hardest to get Chris to take the deal but all Chris is gonna hear is "admit you're the bad guy and get punished so we get off scot free even though you're the victim in all this."

It's even simpler than that. There's still plenty of time between now and the hearing for Chris to get himself into more trouble. He was causing a scene at Wal-Mart barely a week after spending a stint in jail. Given his behavior these days, what are the odds that he's going to behave himself between now and February 2nd?
