By the way, how come Chris being an out of control ball of lard who can't calmly enjoy an ice cream one bite at a time is Jessay's fault exactly?

That supposing the brain freeze was real to begin with, wich it wasn't. Just an autistic ploy to get pity points.

Also, conscience, no conscious, dipshit.

@Marvin begs to differ.
The point remains valid though. Chris' friends are all pony dipshits. They're not discouraging him from his stupid hobbies, they're encouraging them.
The original post was more about his upbringing (late 80s-90s) rather than his current situation, he clearly grew up almost friendless, you'd expect Borb to arrange sleepovers, playdates and such with the neighbor kids at least, one of them was bound to like Sonic or Transformers or whatever.. If I had to guess at why he has no childhood friends, I'd guess it's due to his strange living situation after the Greene County lawsuit.

Also, things could be different today, because childish/immature things are far more normalized now thanks to social media, hence his current friends' attitude about it. Think about it this way: Stumbling on a heated MLP discussion at your workplace's watercooler is no longer the completely impossible event it was before.

Plus you have to consider that they may already know they're dealing with an exceptional manchild who's been tormented by trolls for the better part of a decade, they won't really try to ruffle his feathers or create uncomfortable situations for him.

It's gone from 100% impossible to maybe 90% impossible. I think the vast majority of Bronies who are old enough to hold a job are also the special kind of tard who insist they need gubmint tugboat (Hi Chris!) or work some shit tier minimum wage job at Wal-Mart. Doubt you have very many office drones who care enough about the show to be caught discussing Fluttershy and Scootaloo in public.

I gave your post an agree rating, but I wanted to comment on one little thing.. I used MLP as an example because I was talking about Chris, but that is a bad example because Bronies have a bad reputation that makes it harder to find in normal social situations

But in reality you can replace MLP with anything childish.. Be it fidget spinners, videogames, cartoons etc. Nerd culture is now completely normalized. I have seen Batman comic discussions between high-ranked managers happen in front of me. I imagine anyone working in an office must've had a similar experience.

There's a difference between Batman and MLP/many cartoon network shows. The superhero genre has been adapted to appeal to adults (and also kids). The other shows appeal to kids (and some adults). Marvel/DC movies are rated PG13, they have real human actors, and it's been acceptable to like superheroes as an adult for quite a while now; nobody blinks at a grown adult wearing a superhero shirt. A grown adult wearing a Rarity shirt, a Steven Universe shirt, or a Lego Movie shirt still indicates a juvenile attitude.

td;dr the shit Chris is into is still for children even though nerd and geek culture is a thing. A man his age interested in my little pony and sonic and children's video games comes across as a tard or a pedofork.

This has to be very depressing for Chris. In his past "relationships" with his theoretical exes, he could not offer anything to the relationship. Chris brought nothing to the table. He could this time. "Quinn" just wanted him to be a lazy slovenly fat slob who gobbled down buckets of sweets and gained weight. He will never find that again. He blew his one chance at love by bragging about all the hot lesbian fat-fetishist sex he was going to be having.

I love Chris trying to guilt trip Quinn over brain freeze. "See this? You have Indirectly Caused me Momentary Discomfort!"

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Just when you start to feel sympathy for Chris, he'll do something that reminds you why it's okay to laugh.

I get a kick out of anybody who thinks that the person who just broke up with them (real or not) actually gives a shit about them being upset about it in any way.

"Oh my God Chris! I'm so sorry, I didn't realise how much pain I'd caused you! I'm on my way now! I'm so guilt-ridden I may in fact look like a wino in a wig who's been slipped $20 to pretend to be me!"

Hmm. He could start eating right and losing weight just to spite her.

But no, let's go with the method that requires no control and leads to an early death. Bravo.
