That was always an option. Is why Fetish Roulette got two characters.

I assumed it would be like Xcom 2 where it prioritises pulling from the character pool, or at least populates the world evenly. Even though we have almost a third kiwis, I'd guess about 80% or more are just generic. When I rescue 4-7 per raid, and only get a kiwi once every now and then, something might be wrong.

One of the games on my Let's Sperg list is Football, Tactics, and Glory. It's Xcom football. 15 players per team across 64 teams is going to be too many, so I might have people get their own teams in that case.

Zafehouse Diaries might be better, but that's only 5 people per run.

It kind of is, but with less RNG and no punching the other players. It would be nice to see a sequel where they add weapons.

It's ok. It's good for a couple runs, but the game is a bit thin and the things that are in your control are usually easy to min max, so the game can become a case of going through the motions. However, if viewed like Oregon Trail or Xcom 2 where the goal is to see how far you get before your friends die, it has an appeal.

Zafehouse Diaries 2 is definitely the one to get if you can. It's better as both a game and a story telling device, and it's easier to fill the game with 5 friends or characters than 150. It was on sale for £3.
